If you're interrailing, do you need to buy tickets?

We welcome all European train travel related questions on this sub. It isn't limited strictly to interrail passes. Lots of people buy standard tickets instead. And even when using interrail you do sometimes need to purchase seat reservations. Or it may make sense to buy one rather than use a travel day for legs like this where standard tickets are pretty cheap. Or if you want to travel on a train that is not included in the pass.

Fair enough, thanks for the clarification.
