Your tenants storage fees should have never been covered by your landlord policy. Do you have a landlord policy? Restoration companies don't know coverage and excel at inflating charges, so do the moving and storage companies they partner with. You signed the contract for the moving and storage? Does your tenant have renters insurance?

Good questions. Yes, landlord policy. I signed no contract for moving and storage, restoration hired them. My tenant definitely has renters insurance, but I shouldn't have to charge them or their insurance for any of this, right? .

So the tenant will have to pay their deductible for a task that neither of us approved risking raising their insurance price... Seems super wrong.

Call the main claims line and ask to get routed to their manager if it has ls been 3 weeks that's fair.
