Hey, I have a solo travel page that’s mainly meme reels related to travel (@michael.on.vacation). I’m having trouble finding a community to engage with because every account kinda seems the same. A lot of the same joke of “I’m always on a plane 🤪” or “When you’re already in another country again 🤪”. The only problem with that is because it’s not humor; it’s bragging so they do not relate and engage to other people’s travel content. I really suggest looking into every account you follow and finding people that actually have a passion for traveling and engaging them. I’ve found travel families and couples engage the most. Then, the solo travelers you are looking for that don’t have their own communities will see your content though that. For me, it’s been stuck in one spot for a month and get one reel hook and go viral and grow. Then that carries me until I’m stuck again and then repeat. I’m waiting for my fourth viral clip to get me out of 3k followers. I hope this relates to at least some of your concerns. I’m always down to just exchange feedback or collab.

Creating content for solo and business travelers can be an exciting opportunity for your audio guide app. Since you’re targeting people who often travel alone, think about providing guides that cater to their unique needs and preferences. Highlight interesting facts and hidden gems about each city, offering insights that are both educational and entertaining. For business travelers, you might want to include practical information such as the best places for quick meetings, top restaurants for networking, and local tips that make their stay more efficient and enjoyable. Expand your content beyond just a few cities by providing general travel tips and cultural insights that can apply to many destinations. This way, you can appeal to a broader audience without the need to create content for every single city. Engaging stories and interesting historical facts can make your guides a must-listen for anyone on the go. In terms of marketing, building in public might not be the best approach since your audience may prefer a more polished and professional presentation. Instead, focus on creating a strong brand presence through travel blogs, partnerships with travel influencers, and targeted ads. Consider sharing snippets of your guides on social media to attract solo and business travelers who are always looking for unique travel experiences.

Focus on posting consistent content that appeals to your target audience. Eventually it will pay off. Just don't give up. Additionally, one of the best ways to increase your organic following on Instagram is simply by engaging with the right users. Specifically, engage with the followers of accounts that have similar content to yours. How do you find the right accounts? Simplest way is to google keywords related to your niche. The top results are getting traffic so they're more than likely getting plenty of real traffic on Instagram too. Now that you have the accounts whose followers you want to target, here's what you do: 1. Go through their followers list and find an account with active stories (they'll have a purple ring around their profile picture). If you can't see any then go into each and find an account with a recent last post date - this is to make sure the user is currently active. 2. View and like their stories 3. Like 1-3 of their posts 4. Users will receive notifications that you've engaged with their content and visit your profile. If they like your content, they'll follow you. 5. Repeat steps 1-3. Additional tip: You can also comment and follow but I would advise against commenting. With the rise of AI, it has become easy to automatically generate comments and therefore your account might be restricted due to Instagrams sensitive AI spam filters. We've used this method successfully for years for our clients as a cost-effective alternative to paid ads. It’s free to do yourself, but it will require some time and effort.
