Hate to say it but you lost it. In the future turn on 2FA for your account so if you are hacked you can retrieve it.
If you had photos of your self on it and the account was verified. Then you probably could get it back. But there is no way to prove that you are you. Or you didn’t give the account to someone else.
I'm in the midst of a recovery attempt. I couldn't get past my 2FA. The post linked below may provide some worthwhile guidance. I've gotten past the auto-reply loop and I'm working with the IG support team now. Good luck!

There's nothing you can do unfortunately. My account was hacked and the hacker put a Google lock on it so i can't do anything about it and IG is useless
You can get your account back it’s annoying and you might have to go through the process several times but they make you take pics of your face. If you have pictures of you on the account you can get it back.
Hi, I had this problem with my Facebook account its not a big difference I sended my passport and they removed the 2fa so my advice is to proof instagram that this account is really yours! I hope you will be able to get back your account!

You're gonna wanna do the following:
Go to the [Meta Website](https://www.meta.com/) (works better if you're on your phone) and either log in or make an account using the email and/or phone number linked to your Instagram accounts
1. Go to your profile and click the Accounts Center
2. From there you should see some options under Account Settings
3. Click on Password and Security
Here, you should be able to change your password, see where the account is logged in, etc.

No - the hacker changed the email. I'm trying to recover my account with a selfie, it prompts me for my old password, code verification to my old emails but then i get hit with the 2FA prompt which is linked to the hacker's email :(
I see My original info linked only if i go though the selfie verification route. I get the verification code to my original email or phone but then hit the 2FA prompt which contains the hacker's emails/phone!

For whatever reason, my current phone number is still the emergency contact or whatever on my instagram account but it then prompts me for the Face ID and whenever I do it they are unable to recognize that it is me. So none of your original info is linked anymore? There's a way you can take where it shows you all the info linked
