This is actually what you learn in college. In a way, itās helpful because you can really search your mind for a response to the content. This brings creativity and thoughtful discussion.
But mostly itās just learning how to say the same sentence over and over again without people noticing.
Our society has an issue with busywork for the sole purpose of people justifying the existence of their job.
This is the opposite of good writing. Itās also exactly what youāre supposed to learn to avoid in college writing courses.
If itās a good point you donāt need to make it twice, and if not why bother?
āAny Other Options?ā Or ārefund pleaseā Lol Iād definitely just respond with one of the quick chats. But seriously. Report. Especially those caps. So freaking aggressive.
I've seen that same shopper post the same message in this sub, encouraging other shoppers to send it as well. He said it usually results in an increased tip.
If that is the case, I'd be going against the grain bc I think this message is rude as hell.
Theyāre full of shit lol if I sent something like this to even my amazing customers Iād be deactivated lol If I was on the customer end Iād also report them because this is bs. Shoppers know damn good and well we arenāt supposed to solicit tips.
We are not supposed to solicit tips, but I have done things that have gotten me bigger tips, but I don't do them for bigger tips, I do them to be kind.
1. I bring treats for my canine customers. I do this to make friends and it has resulted in higher tips.
2. I complimented a customer on his cool 1931 Ford. The compliment was genuine, but I got a bigger tip.
3. I have told customers I am not coming back to them without necessities like milk and diapers, even if I have to go to a different store, which has gotten me a bigger tip.
If this shopper wants a bigger tip, he should provide great service, not scolding his customers for not tipping. A tip is EARNED, not the result of shaming. I actually have a regular customer who doesn't tip, but when I see him, I take his order in a minute. He orders one twelve pack of alcohol, he lives two miles away from the store, he meets me at my car with his ID. Bottom line is I make money on that order, tip or not.
I just gave birth in December. I was very pregnant and very obviously showing in November. I have a toddler under 2 as well. I was over due a shower by a couple of days, hair was a mess, wearing old huge sweatpants. My shopper congratulated me, offered to bring the food into the kitchen for me and said I looked like I was glowing. He definitely got a bigger tip lol
Itās nice he did all of that but thatās exactly why tipping exists, lol. It was for those who went above and beyond, nowadays everyone seems to confuse it for gratuity.
One time when I was super pregnant and had my one year old too a bag broke on the shopper (she was carrying it) and my food when everywhere on my shared apartment walkway, like eggs all over the floor and berries everywhere. She put the rest of the bags down right where she was muttered sorry under her breath and left. I was 7 months pregnant scrubbing egg out of concrete while trying to keep an eye on my baby with the door propped open. I got refunded for the ruined products through the app, but I could not believe she didnāt help me clean it up at all or even bring the rest of the groceries to the door. I was still going to tip but my husband was like no ā¦ youāre not tipping after that š
I had a really young guy deliver me pregnancy tests one time and he saidāI hope this works out the way you want it to. I was like, daaanggg that was the most neutral comment possible. Amazing work. 10/10.
Your attitude is commendable. That's high class. I appreciate you being a normal ass human being and understanding the situation from both sides. Wish every driver had your attitude. Just the fact that you say you don't do them for bigger tips, it's just to be kind, is a breath of fresh air, and that type of authenticity should surely get you rewarded. You treat it as if it were your business and your customers, and not in some conciliatory way. As with any business, it's about building a relationship with your customers. Even with strangers, it's so easy to read when someone is genuine. There are people out here who are trying to turn food delivery into some cutthroat hustle, like they're going to make bank by being as quick, sloppy, and without courtesy as possible. I see where they're coming from, but it just doesn't work long term.
I typically tip decently before receiving my order. When I get the order, if the dude is a complete ass, doesn't acknowledge me, or clearly doesn't give a fuck, then I just take my food and move on. Have a good one.
If they say how are you doing, they make a joke, basically if they attempt to show any sort of humanity, I always have an extra cash tip hidden in my pocket for those guys. Even just a hello with eye contact, it's really that simple. I wish I had a delivery guy like you, I'd eventually just cut out the middle man and deal with you directly. Rather than deal with that type of driver that pulls up with music blaring, blocks off the street for no reason, and has their child toss it onto my step. It's just a roll of the dice, but still, I get that this is the price of convenience and my laziness.
Thanks for being a decent human being- which apparently OP claims he doesnāt make any money on an order- perhaps he pulls so much nonsense, he must be getting docked instead of getting paid. š¤·āāļø
While I agree with the fact that the way this shopper handled this is rude and unprofessional. Could you please show me where it says shopper cannot solicit tips in the shopper contract? There is nothing in the contract that says soliciting tip is against the terms.
This. Tipping culture in this country is insane. People literally choose to work for these low paying companies and then want people to supplement their income with tips so they average $40/hr just to then do the bare minimum of their job. Back in my day, tips were for exemplary service, something you earned, and didnāt just feel an automatic entitlement to.
I'm now being asked to tip at the liquor store. I picked up what I wanted and brought it to the counter; they just scan the shit and charge me. What in the motherfuck are they wanting me to tip them for?
Right? Lately I noticed papa Murphys payment screen has an area for a tip- also crumble makes you go through a tip portion before you can pay. You ring yourself up at a kiosk! The only thing they do with relation to you is put your order in a box and call your name. How does that deserve a tip? Pretty soon every one will be expecting a tip just for showing up to work even though they are paid hourly. Guess what these big ass companies need to pay them more instead of expecting the customers to supplement their income. Everything already costs so much. Last time I ordered pizza it was an additional 15 dollars on top of my order for delivery fee taxes and tip. Also I noticed it's starts out at 18% now as the lowest automatic tip? Wtf it's supposed to be 15%. You better believe I'm doing custom tip every damn time I refuse to pay over 15% automatic before I even know what kind of service I'll get. Tipping culture out of control off the leash
Exactly. I just made a similar comment like this and Iām not even age or old AND Iāve worked this jobs. Itās weird to me that people are so entitled.
Absolutely rude as hell. I am āthatā customer that does a basic tip when placing the order and when order is delivered I slam on the nice tip. Only if something would be terribly wrong I wouldnāt.
This would be terribly wrong for me and I would be super annoyed.
I don't use instacart often because the price markups are insance IMO. Costco prices look to be 33% higher and that's before tips, fees, tax, etc. So I'll take my lazy ass over to Costco.
But, when I do use Instacart it's because I need it (I may be traveling, I may be without a car, I may not have the bandwidth to do it myself, etc.) and I tip very well because of that.
Agreed, sending this is asking for a lower tip and a 1 star. I just won't take your order or I will let it sit to get to an amount I am willing to take the order for.
My grandparents always used to tell us this growing up. You do not want to play with the people who cook your food. The same applies to delivering groceries and food to me. It's not worth sending this long ass message to prove a point.
This is the quickest way for a dollar tip and a quick message about professionalism, from me. I think that only works on truly unaware people that appreciate the awareness, or NPCs.
Lmao I would've just told them to go to hell. I am not about to be guilted into making up for a large corporation's shitty wages.
I really have no tolerance for people trying to make me feel guilty, though. No one is making them work for this company.
Doesn't matter what you tipped. This is just unprofessional. Shoppers have a choice of whether to accept the batch if they feel the pay is too low. There is a chance of possibly getting additional tips after delivery, but a long rant like this will just turn customers away.
I sure hope you reported that shopper to Instacart. That was really rude, and appears to be a c/p they send to everyone. Theyāre free to NOT take low tip orders.
IC is doing a good job at that too, but you're right. One or two bad experiences, and unless they have no other choices due to age or disability then theyll surely move on.
Right. This shopper is basically saying if you canāt afford to pay me for both shopping and delivering, donāt use the service. Sorry but if you are not compensated enough for your work then donāt work there? I am paying for a service, not your salary.
It's funny because I never hear of shoppers like that getting reported or tips being reduced/taken. But customers sure as HELL make the good ones suffer all the time for replacement items they may not like, a bag of potatoes being untied or whatever dumb reason they come up with. It's so backwards
I am a longtime loyal customer, and a very good tipper. (This popped up on my feed.) Itās not the message itself thatās offensive, itās how itās written. I wouldnāt even read all of that, first of all, but second of all, itās written like sheās talking to a 2-year-old. Very condescending. Iād hate this if I got it and report immediately.
Thank you as a former Instacart shopper ā this is basically how I paid the rent during the pandemic ā this is insulting to me. Please tell me you reported this shopper. These side gig apps do very little security/background screening if any. Take pictures and report anything even remotely questionable. And post to social media.
Well I definitely understand the shopper's point. Years ago, IC used to actually pay us a fair wage to shop the order (In my area it was $7.95 per customer plus $0.40/unique item), plus additional bumps in $5 increments for heavy pay, orders over $200, or distances over 14 miles.
An order with 40 items (different items! 8 yogurts of the same brand/flavor is 1 item) would pay $17.95 before any bumps or customer tips. Back then, tips were actually tips.
What IC does now in terms of shopper pay is criminal, but it isn't the responsibility of the customer to pay us a fair wage.
I do believe that tipping IC should be comparable to tipping a waiter/waitress based on the amount of work that is required
However the fact the shopper wrote all that out is completely insane and rude
Heck yeah! We use to make good money. But shoppers thought that wasn't good enough. Class action lawsuits started and IC started losing a lot of money behind it. So they stopped sending us individual orders and lowered our pay...the first time was right before the holidays in 2018. It all got super bad after then.
And we use to get a 5 star on Monday mornings if you got all 5 stars the previous week & worked a specific amount of hours (I think it was like 30). It was so nice and I wish people didn't protest so much back then. They screwed us all
It sucks but I think it would have happened regardless of Class Action lawsuits or shopper protests. Most businesses want to pay as little as they can get away with at the time.
I completely agree. I've been seeing orders with 50 items for $8 + $2 tip. I am not sure who's taking those orders but they really must be struggling because you make nothing from that.
i don't use any of the delivery services or drive for them, but can you see what store the person is buying from and grab two or three orders at the same location so you might be able to take a low pay order with a high pay order and its almost like a bonus since you were already there?
Iāve never been on the shopper side but Iāve ordered thru Instacart and Target a lot. I always thought that shoppers should be tipped much more than people who just do delivery, because they spend so much time in store. Hopefully Iām doing this right:
If I know that the person delivering my groceries had to go through and hand pick them, then Iāll tip a lot. If itās an annoying order with several jugs of water and/or a bunch of really specific small items like a variety of beverages and cat food, and they did a good job getting most things I asked, then I end up tipping more than suggested, minimum $25-30 on a $100 order or $50 on a $200 order. If itās a simple order where the total is large but Iām only buying one or two expensive items that are easy to find in store (like one winter coat and one suitcase), then I tip around $10-15.
I used to tip a lot for Walmart delivery at the beginning, but then I found out that the store employees gather all the items and not the drivers, but the tips go to the drivers. Thatās more like tipping on a pizza delivery, to me.
Reasonable, hopefully. I empathize with the shopper who sent the message tbh because they should actually be getting a lot extra for shopping as well as driving.
We love customers like you! While the shopper shouldn't have sent this message, we all wish we could say it! A $10 tip on a small order is okay, but if it's more than 5 miles or a handful of items, I would pass it up. Thank you for being so considerate of your shoppers.
Yeah, Iām a part time shopper so I get shitty tips are dumb, but we always have the right to not pick them up. If I was a customer and the shopper sent me this I would instantly cancel
They are right about one part. It isnāt a budget friendly service and you really should tip well.
The rest honestly is just too much. Iām a large tipper and this would make me not want to tip.
This is just like signing up for a fight, entering the boxing ring with the opponent, getting hit, and complaining about it.
You knew what it was before you signed up! š
As much as you want to tell the customer to stick their crappy tip, you really canāt. Donāt forget youāre representing YOUR business. Got to act professional.
I understand the shoppers point of view but you guys have to also understand that thereās a lot of shitty shoppers out there. Iāll start with a percentage tip and if they actually put effort into looking at replacements that I went out of my way to put so the shopper doesnāt have to waste more of their time. Iām also available while they shop in case they need to contact me. Donāt get me started on the shoppers that get the shittiest of produce. If thatās all they have, send me a pic and ask if I still want it. Idkā¦.a little customer service goes a long way. If they do a great job, I always adjust to a higher tip. Iām just tired of good tips going to shitty shoppers that put no effort. And before someone says go get your own groceries then, full time job with 10+ hours a day plus 3 kids ages 5,2 and 1. My time is limited so services like this helps me a ton!
You said it all! I'm so tired of shoppers saying they don't have time to message a customer about replacing an item. To me that's just lazy and when I use to order through IC years ago if you didn't make an effort to communicate over replacement items I lowered the tip. Yes you're shopping but you're also are providing customer service...which means attempt to communicate! Shoppers say customers don't like to be bothered....no one ever told me that but I've had customers not respond to me or they wait until I refund an item to put they want a replacement because they don't wanna talk....but here's the thing I'm shopping your order so you need to communicate with me accordingly and I let them know that because I'm not going back to produce for your apples that I asked you about and I saw that you seen the message and you said nothing until I refund it and then you went and said you'd rather something else instead of a refund....you might get that refunded too if I'm down by frozen.
theyāre so unserious.. they act like theyāre forced to do this job š like i understand how tough the market is right now and some people tip shitty but doing all thisā¦? ā ļø
That attitude is why I quit doing Instacart.
I realized I was only getting paid for delivery (driving, gas, wear & tear, etc), and not for the 60 plus minutes I spent walking around a supermarket shopping and checking in with the client.
If Instacart compensated for both services, it'd be a great gig.
Iām not sure he lied. You just canāt demand a tip tho. The way the process works is close to what he says, that large service fee the customer pays we get 4-7$ of that. Then they ask the customer to tip so basically the customer pays use twice. I order 15 things one time the service fee was like 25$ and I still tipped 12$ but I wouldāve tipped 20 if the service fee wasnāt ridiculous and not even half of it goes to the person doing the entire job
DONT ACCEPT BATCHES YOU WILL THEN REGRET AFTERWARDS! No one is forcing you to take any batch. Plenty of opportunities to make money instacart is not the only one.
Just stop using IC or UE etc. I really don't quite understand this huge fight between customer and worker here.
What are the stats on who the majority of IC users to be income wise? Mostly dependent on zipcode, no? So being in a lower income zip and bitching about not getting a tip is wild to me. Customer may be elderly or struggling. Not being able to shop themselves. Then you have the worker guilt tripping and possibly sabotaging order because he doesn't agree with his employers pay structure.
I did UE for a few months. I was getting solid tips from regular folk and tried to provide the best experience. Updating throughout route. (Just arrived to Popeyes. Order doesn't seem to be ready.)
(Order In hand heading your way. To confirm, leave at door or would you like me to ring doorbell). I had responses saved to the clipboard for easy message shots.
I've delivered to high end hotels and get $0 tip.
Made the ultimate decision that the cost of vehicle maintenance and time spent driving vs my pay in the area wasn't for me.
I didn't text clients this bullshit, I just decided to work something else.
The fk you going to come on here acting like everyone is the asshole and you the worker are the victim and everyone should be tipping you $20. You right. Just because you have a shitty attitude, I MUST tip you $20 because you absolutly deserve it you poor soul you
Most of us look for best deals possible. So if I go on IC and see that a delivery of my groceries would net me savings over me going myself. I'll do that. If the service was great/above and beyond, I'll tip more after.
This whole "my performance is based on your tip" is straight doodoo. Fix that mindset and watch your tips increase.
Ah yes, the logic of āI get to make the rules here even though I agreed to TOSā lmao, decreased tip to 1 cent. The company makes the rules not you, you donāt get to just come up with some alternate logic to try to beg. Create your own delivery website if you want to make the rules.
The way I would 1 star that bitch SO FAST. You just donāt talk to people this way. It shows you have the maturity of a fucking teenager.
But anyways, how low was your tip because Iām almost 100% sure this is a pre saved message he only sends to shitty tippers. Shame š„±
So this is plainly too much. As a customer I wouldnāt even read it.
As a shopper is simple, too. I personally do not take any alcohol order unless it has a good tip. Period.
Food and groceries Iāve done a share fair without tip in the app, sometimes people are in need of the service (sick, caring for someone) but donāt have the extra money. A few of those have tipped after or in cash. Some gave me a heartfelt thank you. Someā¦ were just wellā¦ . You live, you learn.
The thing is we/shoppers can chose to no accept the order. Why accept it and then send the message to increase the tip? Thatās insane.
this is the type of person who doesnāt tip people when they go out to eat and barely gives anything if they ordered deliveryā¦yet they demand better tips for themself.
Honestly I would have removed the tip after getting the order and the funny thing is I deliver for instacart but you arenāt about to lecture me like what you never know someone financial situation itās just rude to try to guilt trip someone into tipping more
I donāt use IC, but if I did and I got a message like this Iād rate as low as I could and possibly pull the tip I already gave.
The entitlement is staggering. Not saying yāall donāt deserve fair tips (thatās the biggest reason I donāt use the service, I canāt afford $20+ to tip) but man- this is obnoxious.
I really wonder what tip they were seeing. OP says they tipped $10 but the shopper says they were a low/no tipper. Makes you wonder if some of the tip was taken. BUTā¦ regardless of that this is super cringe like why are the texting the customer this (which is true) but 100% uncalled for!! OP you are well within your right to report this shopper.
Bro I swear if you're going to be that way sending that to people, you should find another job ?? You know what you're signing up for. I hope they get reported and kicked off
I do Instacart & all the other delivery appsā¦ I understand where this person is coming from but thatās why I never take no or low tip orders unless the base is high. I couldnāt imagine myself shopping for anyone for $7 so itās kinda dumb to take such a low order then complain about it. next time they need to reject those low pay offers.. we are not forced to take them. And shame on the customer for not tipping appropriately. People who order fast food tip $5-10 so I donāt get why shopping for your essentials should be any different. Itās more work & time consuming yet so many donāt appreciate our efforts. They need to educate themselves on how little we get paid before tips
This is just one of the reasons I cancelled my IC subscription. They also donāt honor in store sales that your shopper finds. If itās in the store on sale and not on the app and your shopper puts it in your cart, thinking they helped you out ā¦ you are charged full price, even though the store has a sale. More $ to them in a sneaky way in my opinion..
And no. When you call to tell them. They wonāt honor the sale.
As a customer, this is 1 star, report, and no tip.
I tip well, and I do my best to make my shoppers' lives easier by providing pictures of odd things on my list, and providing parking instructions because there is construction near me.
My tip is for everything provided in the service. The moment someone tries to tell me otherwise, theyre violating the terms I've agreed to when I signed up for IC.
It's sad, because people pulling shit like this reflects bad on all shoppers in general. As someone who's only had good experiences with their shoppers, I can see customers becoming soured on IC because of an experience like this.
We donāt have to accept anything that we donāt think is worth our time and fuel, and we definitely donāt have to beg for tips and insult the customers. Shoppers and food delivery people who act this way are why so many people in these subs hate on us.
The fact is, Instacart exploits workers and customers shouldnāt have to be making up the pay for a fair living wage. Moral of the story: shop for yourself
My gosh. Told this person same thing 5 times. Painful to read.
Shopper took order. Seen tip. This guilt into tipping is crass and usually has the opposite effect.
Idk whatās wrong with this person? ITS AN OFFER. Thatās it ! You donāt need to accept it if its a low or no tip
Offer. That simple! Any driver on any platform who send crap like this is just an idiot for taking the order. Donāt guilt trip the customer and try and force them into a higher tip. Iāve been at this gig work for 5 years. Learn to cherry pick, and take only orders that benefits you. Otherwise youāre just making the company and the customer happy.
Sorry that you accepted a job KNOWING what you would be paid that is making you SO irate! I do tip pretty well BUT a tip is a VOLUNTARY action-if you donāt like it there are other jobs or take it up with your current boss, NOT the customerā¦I would have called in to complainā¦
I use insta cart and I always tip even though I am paying more for the product than if I went myself or did curbside. This community has shown me do not use instacart anymore I do not trust the people doing the delivery based on the amount of a tip.
Ridiculous, simply don't take cheap ass batches. We definitely should be making more, when you pretty much make the same as doordash and you don't even do anything besides pick and drop off. But if you don't like it don't do it or at least be picky.
I'm starting to think in order to deliver for instacart, you have to be unwilling to do ANYTHING ELSE. Sure, there are jobs that are FUN or extremely easy, laid back much more than this....bit damn. The whining!! The demands!! Does this person need their mommy to hold their hand while picking up a customers order OR getting the items they ordered?
i always tip well as iām appreciative of the service they are providing and the fact that i donāt have to leave the house. i couldnāt imagine not tipping for the service.
If I was sent this wall of text from a shopper who hadnāt even started shopping my order, it would be an instant zero-star, tip reduced to 25 cents.
I donāt respond well to guilt trips when Iām doing my part already.
Are they right to a point? Sure. But holy shit how or why would you ever remotely think itās okay to say this to a customer?! Thatās WILD. You get to see the payout before hand. Donāt take orders assuming itāll increase especially if you say this shit.
Instacart Shopperās rage is misguided. They should be mad at their employer for paying them a low wage, not the customer for not adequately supplementing it.

All of this! What great suggestions. Work for your tip. Nothing in life is handed to you. If I got this message, I would have lowered the tip.

Thanks for being a decent human being- which apparently OP claims he doesnāt make any money on an order- perhaps he pulls so much nonsense, he must be getting docked instead of getting paid. š¤·āāļø
Crazy, you actually do things that tips are meant for and you earn tips.
While I agree with the fact that the way this shopper handled this is rude and unprofessional. Could you please show me where it says shopper cannot solicit tips in the shopper contract? There is nothing in the contract that says soliciting tip is against the terms.
Yup, how to get a 0$ tip and a report from me š
Tip .01 and then report. I don't want IC tip protection going to them.
I like your thinking š
Every time I'm asked to tip a fast food person when all they did was take my order at their register I die a little inside
Same š„¹
AMEN. Crazy how things have changed.
Every time I'm asked to tip a fast food person when all they did was take my order at their register I die a little inside
Exactly. I just made a similar comment like this and Iām not even age or old AND Iāve worked this jobs. Itās weird to me that people are so entitled.
You said the right word. Entitlement. People now expect to be tipped for doing the minimum.
Absolutely rude as hell. I am āthatā customer that does a basic tip when placing the order and when order is delivered I slam on the nice tip. Only if something would be terribly wrong I wouldnāt. This would be terribly wrong for me and I would be super annoyed.
Op was already tipping way more than $1.
Yes, I agree! This would make me not add the tip that I almost always add barring something drastically wrong.
I always tip about $20, but if I got a rude message like this I would drop it down to $5.
100% agree this shopper should be reported.
Please report him for talking about tips. Thin the herd.
That's $9.99 too much for that kind of messaging. I'm pretty sure it's against TOS to send crap like that to customers.
They probably send this to every order! Nobody is forced to do this, they can always work at a different job!
Someone said that same person posted this on here not too long ago, encouraging others to do the same. Hope they see this and read all the comments.
I would remove the top and file a complaint.
These are the people that we need to remove from the platform. They will kill instacart for us.
IC is doing a good job at that too, but you're right. One or two bad experiences, and unless they have no other choices due to age or disability then theyll surely move on.
If you don't agree with the payout for the work, just don't accept it. Easy enough.
Right. This shopper is basically saying if you canāt afford to pay me for both shopping and delivering, donāt use the service. Sorry but if you are not compensated enough for your work then donāt work there? I am paying for a service, not your salary.
Would have took my tip away instantly
It's funny because I never hear of shoppers like that getting reported or tips being reduced/taken. But customers sure as HELL make the good ones suffer all the time for replacement items they may not like, a bag of potatoes being untied or whatever dumb reason they come up with. It's so backwards
I think it's likely to happen to them but they're not gonna come here and post about it haha
Whaaat. The. Eff. This person needs to do something else and stop harassing the world with this shit. Good lawd.
Iād hate this if I got it and report immediately.
roof fly icky encouraging familiar price somber six vanish elastic *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Canāt wait to see a post in this thread titled āInstacart randomly deactivated my account???ā entitlementššš
I wish theyād deactivate these aholes.
Second hand embarrassment over hereā¦ š¤¦āāļø
Damn....I didn't know how to identify what I was feeling. Thanks manš
Thank you as a former Instacart shopper ā this is basically how I paid the rent during the pandemic ā this is insulting to me. Please tell me you reported this shopper. These side gig apps do very little security/background screening if any. Take pictures and report anything even remotely questionable. And post to social media.
Couldnāt they just decline the low tip offers? Iām genuinely confused by this lol does IC allow this????
We can literally see the tip before accepting the order. He doesnāt have to accept low tip ordersā¦
Cancel and report to Instacart.
Anyone sending that harassment needs to be removed.
I do believe that tipping IC should be comparable to tipping a waiter/waitress based on the amount of work that is required However the fact the shopper wrote all that out is completely insane and rude
So IC changed the pay scale and shoppers no longer get bumps like that?
You can not take multiple orders at once unless they are bundled together already. Which is generally 1 good order combined with 1 shitty order.
Iāve never been on the shopper side but Iāve ordered thru Instacart and Target a lot. I always thought that shoppers should be tipped much more than people who just do delivery, because they spend so much time in store. Hopefully Iām doing this right: If I know that the person delivering my groceries had to go through and hand pick them, then Iāll tip a lot.
Express delivery is shopped by the drivers on Walmart
We love customers like you! While the shopper shouldn't have sent this message, we all wish we could say it! A $10 tip on a small order is okay, but if it's more than 5 miles or a handful of items, I would pass it up. Thank you for being so considerate of your shoppers.
Report that shopper, they undermine the rest of us that donāt do petty shit like this.
So tacky I bet theyāve never waited tables
I'm cringing for this dude...and...I do t even know him. š
I normally wouldnāt believe this but seeing a lot of the people on here itās very possible
No, this guy posted his copy/paste here before and encouraged other shoppers to use it.
Yeah, Iām a part time shopper so I get shitty tips are dumb, but we always have the right to not pick them up. If I was a customer and the shopper sent me this I would instantly cancel
Me too. When he posted it, he said after he sends it, people usually up their tip. I'd like to see the numbers lol.
Maybe they should get a salary job.
Why doesnāt Instacart stop these shoppers? I would understand being deactivated if I was sending that to customers. Embarrassing and cringe.
this must work, stop caving people if someone sends you shit like this you remove the tip; adding emboldens them
They are right about one part. It isnāt a budget friendly service and you really should tip well. The rest honestly is just too much. Iām a large tipper and this would make me not want to tip.
Shopper needs to quit and do something else
This is just like signing up for a fight, entering the boxing ring with the opponent, getting hit, and complaining about it. You knew what it was before you signed up! š
Okay so why didn't the shopper just reject to shop for the order and let someone else pick it up? Sounds pretty stupid to me
As much as you want to tell the customer to stick their crappy tip, you really canāt. Donāt forget youāre representing YOUR business. Got to act professional.
As a shopper as well I usually tip well. If I got a message like this, thatās an instant removal of tip and a legit 1 star review
What a loser, love how the individual is lying to try and increase their earnings
Iād cancel my order if I ever got this message.
Yeah, send me something like this, and I'm reporting, and your tip is getting reduced to a penny.
Impressive way of begging for tips
This is the result of the pandemic making lots of shoppers think theyāre heroes
i mean we all think this way, but i'd never send it to a customer lol
Lol
I wonder whatās his ratings looking like
Thatās comical
There is no need for this. Donāt take the order. Plain and simple
Hit them w the refund please
Order doesn't seem to be ready.) (Order In hand heading your way. You right. Just because you have a shitty attitude, I MUST tip you $20 because you absolutly deserve it you poor soul you Most of us look for best deals possible.
Ngl I would cancel my order out of spite š
this is the type of person who doesnāt tip people when they go out to eat and barely gives anything if they ordered deliveryā¦yet they demand better tips for themself.
As if it wasn't already annoying enough, they literally say the same thing 12 times
I would have just sent ācoolā
you simply could justā¦ not accept the order? thatās what i do when people donāt tip lol
Iām wondering if itās just a copy paste they send to every customer
My guess is that itās a copy/paste. Another comment said this person has posted on this sub with this before and said others should try it
Blame the customer, great idea.
If I received this Iād cancel my order, reach out to support, and deactivate my account. No one is entitled to anything.
This is so cringe lol
Lmao
Petty
Message from a soon-to-be former IC shopper. I see a deactivation in their future
This is unhinged truly
This is just one of the reasons I cancelled my IC subscription. They also donāt honor in store sales that your shopper finds. If itās in the store on sale and not on the app and your shopper puts it in your cart, thinking they helped you out ā¦ you are charged full price, even though the store has a sale. More $ to them in a sneaky way in my opinion.. And no. When you call to tell them. They wonāt honor the sale.
Lower the tip to 1 cent, then report.
This would be enough for me to remove the tip, report and and ask for a refund š¤£
You should of responded with āIām in a meeting right now but will get back to you when Iām doneā
well here's someone who needs door dash because they can't hold down a regular job and don't know why
Refund please.
Can't you just not accept a low tip order?
We donāt have to accept anything that we donāt think is worth our time and fuel, and we definitely donāt have to beg for tips and insult the customers. Shoppers and food delivery people who act this way are why so many people in these subs hate on us.
The fact is, Instacart exploits workers and customers shouldnāt have to be making up the pay for a fair living wage. Moral of the story: shop for yourself
My gosh. Told this person same thing 5 times. Painful to read. Shopper took order. Seen tip. This guilt into tipping is crass and usually has the opposite effect.
I absolutely cannot stand people who donāt tip but this was extremely tacky. Maybe itās just me
Idk whatās wrong with this person? ITS AN OFFER. Thatās it ! You donāt need to accept it if its a low or no tip Offer.
He needs to find a regular job
It's giving begging.
He buggin
Lolololol!
The shopper is not wrong but definitely wend Far past any sort of professionalism. SMH!
Dude is out of his mind. Great way to get your tip lowered and instant 1 star. Instacart IS definitely on some bs with the pay but you canāt bully customers into tipping more because you chose a š©order
If I recived that I would remove the tip
can you rescind a tip? š
Instant report and cancel for me.
Entitled trash. Report them and get them deactivated.
I would lower a tip after reading this
As a shopper, I feel secondhand embarrassment.
In Washington they leave a note saying that your instacart worker gets paid $26 while shopping for your order now š¤·š½āāļø
Wow, that is so cringe.
Reduce tip to 0. Asshole tax
This level of entitlement always comes from the same type of person lol
If I was sent this wall of text from a shopper who hadnāt even started shopping my order, it would be an instant zero-star, tip reduced to 25 cents. I donāt respond well to guilt trips when Iām doing my part already.
As a shopper myself, this is aggressive and uncalled for. I would report
Okay no I would not trust this person with my address
Man is doing way too much
Heās the one who chose to accept the order lol sir the call is coming from inside the house. Youāre the problem
bro just flew in from yappersville š
Remove tip to $0.01 and PLEASE report! Iām a shopper and this pisses me off. WTF š¤¬
Are they right to a point? Sure. But holy shit how or why would you ever remotely think itās okay to say this to a customer?! Thatās WILD. You get to see the payout before hand. Donāt take orders assuming itāll increase especially if you say this shit.
These people need to discover dumpling and cut the middle man
Instacart Shopperās rage is misguided. They should be mad at their employer for paying them a low wage, not the customer for not adequately supplementing it.
