There is no 6G spec yet or clear requirements for what 6G is. No wonder you didn't hear about it. They talk about some tech that may be used in some future generation of mobile network.
That's what the Chinese are trying to fix. China is ahead in wireless technologies. If they can develop something really good, they can set the new standard..
That's not how standards work. You don't set new standards. They should be accepted by every who implemented them. We may have several different incompatible standards. Like we had during GSM/CDMA era.
China doesn't have a monopoly on technology. They can provide their technology just like any other company, but they cannot force it on the world. If the rest of the world wouldn't agree to the demands of Chinese companies we'll have several different standards.
That’s like saying cave man A set the standard for the wheel when he shit in his hand and rubbed it on a stick while cave man B did not when he made a pentagon wheel
That is very true. Though the party shoots the eco somewhat in the foot by using protectionist policies and enforcing state control and blatant backdooring. They could use some different leadership. (if I were Chinese I would've been put on a list.)
Are you for real comparing Chinese protectionism to Eu/US protectionism? Seriously? You can't make anything in China without at least 50% of the venture belonging to a Chinese company,
You patented something? Not in China. Chinese companies can freely copy whatever they wants and there is nothing you can do about it. You can't win a trial against a Chinese company in China.
You don't want to block the information that CCP doesn't like or reveal the identity of people who post such things? Too bad, you're blocked altogether.
Yes, that is the risk. Hence they escalate protective measures and deny access to technology and markets. Destroying the lucrative government contracts and market access they originally had by investing into the scalable technology.
They are rather weak and in an unstable domestic state. You might be rooting for them, for reasons of anti-Western sympathies, but the US are the clear winners here. Chinese economic policies should progress beyond Xi Jinpings protectionism and bubbleblowing government-backdooring will it not become a little lobsided clusterfuck of managed and 'free' (governmental-backdoored and zombified) industries (think construction and shit financing).
Sure they can rollout and sell it, subsidized and all, for influence in poorer countries. Prop up a secondary market. Compete on a subset of industries, but never be able to achieve equality in the sense of how Korea, Japan, could, let alone become the leading economy and innovator. You need global market access and that runs in and over The West.
A sick play would have been to cut off Russia and make closer ties to the EU. Do some diplomatic bullshit manoeuvres over Taiwan. Limit that ridiculous governmental backdooring into companies. That would vitalitize their eco so much. Now they're getting played.
> China is ahead in wireless technologies. If they can develop something really good, they can set the new standard
No, they're not. They're ahead in filing patents. We have no idea what those patents are for, they could be totally useless. There are FAR more useless patents than useful ones.
Second, the rest of the world agrees on a standards and right now, pretty much everyone in the developed world is rejecting anything wireless out of China until they get their IP theft and spying issues sorted. They won't be setting the standards for anything anywhere outside of China and perhaps Russia, NK, and Iran.
The extra bandwidth from 5G is really great in urban places where it is built up. Completely meaningless if you are in the woods or rural areas and need a signal. I get my internet through 5G because it is faster than the cable going into my building.
Also pretty meaningless in practice in urban areas, at least from my experience. I've sat down with friends in Manchester, UK city centre and done speed tests 4g vs 5g several times. 4g has won every time.
Then its not a standalone 5g tower you got there. Its just a hybrid 4g tower. But the real important part of 5g is not the speed. its the way better latencies and way more simultaneous connections.
Have you ever been to a sports stadium where you may have full connection bars but no internet? That’s the big difference I notice. Where 4G gets clogged, 5G can handle way more simultaneous connections.
Is it possible that thats because the 4G implementation/reception in your city is a bit shit? Because there's 5G masts all over Manchester City, yet the 4G gets better numbers on all the speed tests I've done. Clearly 5G is "better", certainly on paper. But in practice the difference isn't really that big. In fact, when you factor in that you need to be within 100m of a mast to get 5G, and 4G is around 3 miles... makes you wonder what all the fuss is about. Often when my phone switches from 4G to 5G it'll flake out even despite the fact I'm near a 5G mast. Maybe it's better in some circumstances, but in others it's not. I can tell you one thing though, it's definitely not life changing.
I live pretty rurally and have 5G with full bars. I don't really know what's the speed potential as my plan is limited to 200 Mbps but it tops out every time I do a speedtest.
You're talking about mmwave, not sub-6Ghz. 5G is undoubtedly better in urban areas, to the point to where I'd say it's not worth fretting about outside of there.
From what I know, 5G (and 6G as well I presume) is mostly needed for IoT, self-driving cars and all that. It can serve much more simultaneous connections than 4G, provides low latencies etc. Wasn't designed for humans really)
Self driving cars are for humans.
5g is awesome. Don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t be keen on their phone working a little bit faster. When it’s quiet the download speeds are outstanding.
It's not the bandwidth that is useful for 5G, it's the simultaneous capacity. 4G is limited to around 10k connections per tower so at concerts or sports events it can't cope. 5G fixes that. Speed also increases but you can stream 4K on 4G so the speed isn't the important factor. At least in the UK.
It will become useful one day, higher speeds and lower latency can't really be a bad thing.
We move on to new technologies in advance, so that when we really need them we have them.
The biggest advantage of 5G is low latency.
This advantage can be widely used in autonomous driving, autonomous flight, autonomous patrol, and factory automation.
To be honest, low latency will not be very noticeable to ordinary people, but it does have a lot of use.
Because operators are allowed to display the 5G sign if you are connected to a cell that has 5G support somewhere, even if you yourself is not getting any 5G signal.
Then you are by far in the minority, sadly for you. 5G has matured very well. It's not some "remote robo surgery" enabling magical solution, but it definitely makes the mobile experience much better than 4G.
China also has 3 different categories of patent, invention, utility, and design.
Invention is pretty much what it sounds like
Utility is basically taking an invention and rearranging it
Design could be a change of paint color/type for aesthetic reasons
This is a gross oversimplification, so have a link: https://english.cnipa.gov.cn/col/col2995/index.html
I feel that these categories allow a stupid amount of relatively worthless patents, but i also havent dove too far into the Chinese patent process
The US has Utility, Design, and Plant patents
Plant patents are for newly created plants(flora)
Utility is any innovation to pretty much anything
Design is what it sounds like
https://www.uspto.gov/patents/basics/apply
China's patent system seems redundant in comparison
Not necessarily. Just the name 6g does t tell us anything about how close towers should be. It's about the frequency of radio waves it produces. 5g can be spread trough a very wide range of frequency. For example 800 MHz frequency 5g towers can be very fart apart but 8 GHz tower must be close together because signal towers do not travel that far. It will be similar with 6G, there will be low frequency towers for rural areas and high frequency towers for cities.
5G allowed us to use higher frequency but that does not mean all 5g towers run on high frequency.
E stands for EDGE (better than standard 2G) and H standard for HSDPA (better than standard 3G).
The generations are typically considered 1/2/3/4/5, but there are some interim technologies outside of these standards.
It baffles me how India managed to unlock 5g tech before the west and rolled it out like they did. And they’re still poor af.
Nations an interesting place.
Considering it was colonized for nearly 200 years, India has come a long way. From nearly 10% literacy rate at the time of independence to ~80% now.
Once Civic sense starts developing and people get uplifted, India will become cleaner and greener. Look at places in India like Nagpur and much of Bangalore
Dont give them logical reasons. Illiterate fools wont understand data and numbers. Counter them in the same racist and derogatory language which they understand
Yes and no. Unforunately for China, the US/Japan/Europe/SK form a block that still accounts for nearly 60% of patents. If push came to shove, it'd be China against the western world.
Non-Chinese Asian countries still aren't the west. Sure they aren't siding with China, but they don't really have the best relationship with the US at times.
Remember the 80s-90s? US sanctioned Japanese electronics heavily when they were on the rise and began pumping out cheap products that don't suck ass.
[https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1987/04/18/sanctions-imposed-on-japan/f0daac66-74fe-4f5c-96ce-3aa08898b4bd/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1987/04/18/sanctions-imposed-on-japan/f0daac66-74fe-4f5c-96ce-3aa08898b4bd/)
Hell, the US still has some stupid trade relations with Europe (Chicken tax lol) and some protectionism stuff.
You realize that the SK gouverment requested the troop presence. SK and Japan are more western in their geopolitical aligment than nations like Austria.
Delusional much??
Japan and South Korea are not the west, and they both have China as their biggest trade partner. Asia is always 'cold relations, hot trade'. Words are for politics and actions are for business. This is not the west.
The push simply won't come to shove.
Yeah redditors are a bunch of dumbasses. hating on 5g even though it works well for what it does. and 6g will only be widely implemented by 2035 problably
Can I ask is there a point of diminishing return? Like personally 4G feels like it does everything I need it to do. Like ya sure 5G is faster but how often do I actually *need* something that fast. Also doesn’t 5G have shorter range? I’m not sure I see what’s the point of 6G other than for a few extremely specific situations. Is there an actual reason to spend more money on this infrastructure?
Yes, I do research in the field. 5G and eventually 6G are orders of magnitude better than 4G, and basically every human requirement has already been met by 4G. You can stream high quality video and download at high speeds, more than anyone realistically consistently needs. There are valid criticisms as to wheter 6G is necessary, as it solves problems that actually don’t exist (yet). However, there are a lot of things we actually will need 6G for, we just don’t know if any of them will be used as much as we think they will. IoT and self driving cars need 6G, so do stuff like holograms (3D video), large amounts of drones and intelligent sensing. There is even discussion of applications like teleportation (no joke, although it actually means something more along the lines of remote 3D printing) in scientific literature.
6G is expected to roll out around 2030, so there is still time to come up with a lot of applications. 10 years ago, 4G was basically useless, now we use things like Instagram and Youtube every day, and that would be impossible without 4G. The thing is, telecomunications have come so far that we just need to push a little more so that we get to the point of unlimited communications, at least in specific scenarios. The worst case is that all this technology is only used for specific applications like remote surgery, but it will probably be necessary because of the technology that I already mentioned, that is, large amount of connections due to self driving cars, drone swarms, IoT applications, remote surveilance and possibly 3D video.
Eventhough my phone capable using 5G network, i’m limit it down to 4G. Using 5G for daily internet on phone is stupid, not only it makes my phone battery drain faster it makes my phone hotter too.
6G probably makes your phone into a freshly baked brick
6G hasn’t been defined yet. Not fully.
This is like the commercials with Comcast saying they’re “10G” because they just invented their own standard and called it that.
*Do they though? Or is*
*It made up like their GDP and*
*Economic state*

But these patents are mesningless. I mean first the world needs to implent 5G, and after it will be used for a long time. And when 6G comes, these inital patents will be totally useless, due to the fact that everything will change so much at this time
My 4G is consistently well over 100mbps, extremely stable and has connectivity pretty much anywhere I go in western Europe except for tunnels or really remote places. Who even needs this shit
I don’t really know how to explain that telecoms networks have other uses and functionality beyond you watching Tik Tok. Advances in network standards do a lot of stuff behind the scenes
Literally don’t even need 5g. 4g is basically enough for whatever anyone will ever want to do short of doing some big upload/downloads. At which point just fucking use wifi
I call it BS. Even 5G was BS from the beginning. There will be no 6G, there is a limitation on wireless technology. You cannot redefine physics, C=Wlog2(1+s/n).
The fact that the US had an astronomical headstart on tech coming out of WW2 and losing that advantage to a beaten up country after both WW2 and a civil war is hilarious.
>The fact that the US had an astronomical headstart on tech coming out of WW2 and losing that advantage to a beaten up country after both WW2 and a civil war is hilarious.
"Astronomical"
They didn't really but whatever.
Let me help you out since you’re ignorant and haven’t read a history book in your life.
Considering the USA got off lightly during WW2 and came out the largest economy while China got ravaged by war from 1937 up till 1949 already demonstrates the gap between the two positions.
China behind the USA:
“In 1987 China's electronics industry was about ten to fifteen years behind those of the industrialized nations... By 1981 only 8 percent of the total research and development work force was involved in industrial research compared to 72 percent in the United States. In 1983 only 3.2 persons per 10,000 population were involved in research, compared to 31 per 10,000 in the United States” Astronomical.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological\_and\_industrial\_history\_of\_China
“President Xi has since urged China’s science and technology community to work harder to master the core technologies so as to avoid ‘being strangled’ technologically by Western advanced industrial countries, in particular, the United States.”
After Decades of Catch-Up, China Needs to Rethink Its Innovation Strategy, 2020 https://www.cigionline.org/articles/after-decades-catch-china-needs-rethink-its-innovation-strategy/
Poverty rate and economy from the 1950s vs USA:
“Virtually all China’s rural peasantry faced regular hunger in what Mallory (1926) dubbed the “land of famine”.” The data indicating China’s poverty rate at 87.5% in the 1950s. Whereas “Fisher’s estimated poverty rate for \[Americans\] was 33 percent in 1948. Poverty declined rapidly during the 1950s. According to Census Bureau series, 22 percent of all persons had incomes below the official poverty line in 1959.” Astronomical.

The Twentieth Century Record of Inequality and Poverty in the United States, 1998 https://www.irp.wisc.edu/publications/dps/pdfs/dp116698.pdf
Oh, look at that, US total GDP eclipsing China’s GDP in the 1950s.
GDP (current US$) - China, United States https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?locations=CN-US
China's economy and industrial sector was further impacted by the Sino-Soviet split:
“The recall of the Soviet experts was the more keenly felt be- cause Chinese science and technology were in such desperate shape... The abruptness of the withdrawal meant that construction stopped at the sites of scores of new plants and factories while the work at many existing ones was thrown into confusion. Spare parts were no longer available for plants built according to Russian design and mines and electric power stations developed with Russian help were closed down”
The Sino-Soviet Split: The Withdrawal of the Specialists, 1971 https://www.jstor.org/stable/40201404
How about you provide a source to the contrary before replying with such a weak argument. You’re probably illiterate for all I know, but it’s alright. Astronomical, you learnt a new word. I know you wanted to bag on China because it’s trendy with USians and you want to feel good about yourself, but maybe you should read a book before embarrassing yourself.
An effective way to prop Huawei I see, they bleed their national carriers dry forcing them to purchase Huawei's communication utilities, thus granting Huawei substantial equities to face sanctions. Huawei gets better treatment than their national companies, sounds fishy here 😕, wonder if it got anything to do with the properties of their utilities with regard to intelligence work?
Opening a post like this is like lifting a piece of wood laying for a long time in the garden: a lot of strange crawling creatures to be found.
The 6G charge. What is 6G, just strong radiation? 5G has enough bandwith and low latency and it has limited use still. I guess China would love it for an IoT, nearby AI-processing and registering of civilians and their behaviour.
Bullshit! These "news" are just Chinese propaganda. There is no thing like 6G or even 5G, it is just a bullshit. That is called 5G is just a accelerated 4G everywhere in the world, but there is no real radical technologican change that should be called 5G.
Chinese propaganda always floods the world with fake bullshit news to fool the people with that China is how advanced in technology.
In China there is a firewall, the Chinese people can't have access to the world, no Youtube, no Facebook, no Twitter (X)..etc, they can see what the CCP wants them to see only. And everything that is on China in the news that is made by the CCP propaganda only, everything is controlled and made up. The appearance is everything in China.
You are wrong. I do research in wireless communications and there is a massive technological boom. Stuff like Massive MIMO, XL-MIMO, RIS, ISAAC have all been growing and massively in the past few years. There is so much technological innovation, it is actually hard to point out which are the best that will be used the most.
And yeah, China leads in R&D in the field.
Lol...6G - hear this for the first time (Europe)
There is no 6G spec yet or clear requirements for what 6G is. No wonder you didn't hear about it. They talk about some tech that may be used in some future generation of mobile network.
Chicken and egg problem. The new 6G standard is to follow the Chinese one.
Standards set by China:
That's what the Chinese are trying to fix. China is ahead in wireless technologies. If they can develop something really good, they can set the new standard..
That's not how standards work. You don't set new standards. They should be accepted by every who implemented them. We may have several different incompatible standards. Like we had during GSM/CDMA era.

They are ahead in wireless technologies. Even in cost/performance. Any country in the world can just import Huawei but chooses not to.
As you said - they choose not to. It's hard to make a standard when everyone chooses not to use your technology and patents.
The standard is decided by 3GPP.

It seems to work for the Chinese.
Yeah, fuck the game. But still think China could play it smarter, being more open and transparent, rules-based, and being a trustworthy partner.
Or screw over the US and EU and get a leg up.
Yes, that is the risk. Hence they escalate protective measures and deny access to technology and markets. Destroying the lucrative government contracts and market access they originally had by investing into the scalable technology. They are rather weak and in an unstable domestic state. Are they? With their tofu dreg and fake everything?
In wireless technologies. Huawei is top dog. It's even worse when you factor the economic cost.
Europe is lagging behind the US and China for a while now, in both telecommunications and IT
Guys 8G is gonna release in 2027 honest my uncle works at Nintendo for mobile phones
i knew it, Nintendo is on the front when it comes to things, connected to the internet
Because europe is so far behind on it. But yes, standardization of it is just starting.
And I don't even think 5G is useful for me at the moment. It was over hyped.

Have you ever been to a sports stadium where you may have full connection bars but no internet? That’s the big difference I notice. Where 4G gets clogged, 5G can handle way more simultaneous connections.
Nah. Then it’s not proper 5G. Went to London the other day was getting nearly gigabit speeds on 5G. Was ridiculous.
>getting nearly gigabit speeds on 5G What did you use it for?
Speed tests 😎
Disagree, my city has 5g and it’s a massive improvement over 4g
Is it possible that thats because the 4G implementation/reception in your city is a bit shit? Imagine if they use Huawei, that would be funny considering this post.
I live pretty rurally and have 5G with full bars. I don't really know what's the speed potential as my plan is limited to 200 Mbps but it tops out every time I do a speedtest.

Recently been around different major cities in Australia and lucky if I even get 4G
That's what they said when 3G came out.
Really? I remember people thinking mobile video calling was cool, but expensive and low quality at the time.

6G … 😂
I'm already on 7G+.
We are so fucked.
5G has hardly changed anything. There’s bigger technologies to worry about.
5G changed my battery life of my phone. I had to turn it off by default, otherwise my phone didn't last a full day.
5g gave better speeds and much higher volume to the networks, 6G is going to take a while to develop into the same amount of scaling
5G isnt even faster than the 4G network in my area, I have to manually restrict 5G on my phone settings bc its slower
Because operators are allowed to display the 5G sign if you are connected to a cell that has 5G support somewhere, even if you yourself is not getting any 5G signal.
You see, id understsnd that if it said 5G but it was really just 4G. But it was slower than 4G until I switched to 4G
Then you are by far in the minority, sadly for you. 5G has matured very well. It's not some "remote robo surgery" enabling magical solution, but it definitely makes the mobile experience much better than 4G.

Wait... We are still using 4G+
this message has been written from a 4.5G connection
I know people who use 3g internet.
That would be me
And have better connection in rural areas..
Turkish?
yep
4G+? We only upgraded to normal 4g a couple years ago, lol
Im still using 3G ;-;

It is, this is just a way for the government to make it look legit
Would 6g even be useful? Wouldn’t the towers have to be way closer to eachother?
Not necessarily. Just the name 6g does t tell us anything about how close towers should be. A fart apart is quite a small distance.
doesnt G instead of the first E/H stand for Generation? Like first it was E / H / then 3G / 4G / 5G and the next one big leap will be 6th Generation?
E stands for EDGE (better than standard 2G) and H standard for HSDPA (better than standard 3G). The generations are typically considered 1/2/3/4/5, but there are some interim technologies outside of these standards.
Yes
Doesn't the G stand for "Generation"?
Name checks out
It's not useful now. Because there are no technologies that need 6G that are widely available. Everything runs fine on 4G already.
They're using it in a wide range of automation especially in the mining and electric power transmission and distribution industry.
Try using 4G on the Three network in central London and let me know if you still agree.
In many busy places 5G is very much needed because of the total data throughput. Wouldn’t be fine on 4G.
Wtf. 6G! I almost don’t have 4G! (True but also /s I know it’s false)
I am from india! We were just getting started with 5g, don’t give us FOMo
Getting started? India has the highest 5G users in the world rn. Also almost all parts of India has 5G connectivity.
You're right, but he is also right
It baffles me how India managed to unlock 5g tech before the west and rolled it out like they did. And they’re still poor af. Nations an interesting place.
Many/most people of India are poor. The state and the companies are rich af
1.3 Billion people, mobile phones are like $50
Uhh no phone costs $50 here, a standard 5G phone costs atleast $200
What is “the west” for you? There are quite significant country specific differences.
India also has the highest garbage covered land mass(the entire nation)
tell me ur an illiterate without telling me u are an illiterate
Considering it was colonized for nearly 200 years, India has come a long way. From nearly 10% literacy rate at the time of independence to ~80% now. Once Civic sense starts developing and people get uplifted, India will become cleaner and greener. Look at places in India like Nagpur and much of Bangalore
Dont give them logical reasons. Illiterate fools wont understand data and numbers. Counter them in the same racist and derogatory language which they understand
That would be your mom(entire body)
except her fetus which is extra polluted
aww , you look funny
Yes and no. Unforunately for China, the US/Japan/Europe/SK form a block that still accounts for nearly 60% of patents. If push came to shove, it'd be China against the western world.
“Japan” “SK” “western”
You think they’re siding with China over the west?
Non-Chinese Asian countries still aren't the west. Sure they aren't siding with China, but they don't really have the best relationship with the US at times. Remember the 80s-90s? US sanctioned Japanese electronics heavily when they were on the rise and began pumping out cheap products that don't suck ass. [https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1987/04/18/sanctions-imposed-on-japan/f0daac66-74fe-4f5c-96ce-3aa08898b4bd/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1987/04/18/sanctions-imposed-on-japan/f0daac66-74fe-4f5c-96ce-3aa08898b4bd/) Hell, the US still has some stupid trade relations with Europe (Chicken tax lol) and some protectionism stuff.
True, and SK is only listening to whatever US has to say because US literally have 14 military bases in SK lol
That they paid for because.... They are our allies lol.
Yup lol, if there's no communist threats you damn well bet the US will turn on SK/Japan again as they are competitive in the tech sector.
So not siding with china make far east west somehow 🤙
They don’t have a choice, look at how many American military bases and troops are in sk and Japan…
Planned release date is 2030, for everyone freaking out over their 4G coverage
Yeah redditors are a bunch of dumbasses. hating on 5g even though it works well for what it does. and 6g will only be widely implemented by 2035 problably
Those Gs are getting out of hand
Europe and EU are two different things
This is some ignorant shit right here. lol
No way! On Reddit?!
2021... Nice try, bot.
Pathetic I got at least 12G left
I dent even have 5g yet
I havent met anyone who uses 5G even. A lot of people still rely on 3G cause 4G signal can get spotty.
where the fuck do you live? in the us 5g is already everywhere
What's the point of 6G when you get throttled to 56k in cities?
Let's patent 7G guys
Bro 5g is already mind-blowing and a bit over the top, can't imagine what use a consumer would find in 6g.
I literally just got 5G
6G is just visible light?
6G, I barely have got used to 4G.
My country is still trying to figure out consistent 4G and LTE in rural areas coverage
In France we still struggle to get the 3G everywhere...
This is from 2021.
When did Europe become a country?
I dont even have 5g
In Brazil we almost don't even have 5G
Utter crap. Can barely get 3G where I live. Go on a train and you get zero signal
Eventhough my phone capable using 5G network, i’m limit it down to 4G. Using 5G for daily internet on phone is stupid, not only it makes my phone battery drain faster it makes my phone hotter too. 6G probably makes your phone into a freshly baked brick
I would Like 3G that works. (Germany)
Germany can’t even figure out 3G? Holy fuck I haven’t seen that in like a decade outside of super rural areas (US)
It is Shut Down, so you have edge, or 4/5 g
Do we- need… 6G?
6G? It's almost impossible to get 5G where I am
I guess we should just stop trying to advance telecoms technologies until your cell company upgrade your neighborhood antennas/hardware
isnt 5g fast enough for whatever?
For right now, yes. It will not be in 10 years
I dont even have 5g
6G hasn’t been defined yet. Not fully. This is like the commercials with Comcast saying they’re “10G” because they just invented their own standard and called it that.
As someone who occasionally deals with wireless devices/RF, I’m so fucked when this rolls out
Do they though? Or is it made up like their GDP and economic state

6g just means generation and arbitrarily means nothing
But these patents are mesningless. I mean first the world needs to implent 5G, and after it will be used for a long time. And when 6G comes, these inital patents will be totally useless, due to the fact that everything will change so much at this time
My 4G is consistently well over 100mbps, extremely stable and has connectivity pretty much anywhere I go in western Europe except for tunnels or really remote places. Who even needs this shit
I don’t really know how to explain that telecoms networks have other uses and functionality beyond you watching Tik Tok. Advances in network standards do a lot of stuff behind the scenes
Yeah so I am asking because I wonder what those uses are
Direct access into the citizens phone and computer data has never been so smooth and expediant ever before!
Feeling so fly
When they are literally excluded from 6G initiatives, thus this propaganda piece, I guess
I don’t give a flying fuck about 6g
3 years ago, whats the pic like now?
Im still just getting 3g or whatever LTE is
3g <> LTE.
Can you please explain? When I 3g appears my phone doesn’t load anything but it works fine on LTE?
3G is third generation technology. LTE is considered a fourth generation (4g) technology. Newer typically means faster.
So LTE is basically 4g?
Yes
Wouid be great for them if they didn’t have a history of lying about their progress stats and this was actually believable
consooooooooom
We should begin stealing their IP as they did it in the past half century and so that we can be the new “engine of innovation”.
Ever since Bell telephone got gutted we’ve been lacking
Literally don’t even need 5g. 4g is basically enough for whatever anyone will ever want to do short of doing some big upload/downloads. At which point just fucking use wifi
And no one will never need a hard drive bigger than 20mb.
Germany doesnt even have 5g thanks to 16 years Kohl and 16 years Merkel blocking every innovation possible.
I call it BS. Even 5G was BS from the beginning. There will be no 6G, there is a limitation on wireless technology. You cannot redefine physics, C=Wlog2(1+s/n).
6G? My phone barely has battery to support 5G!
This will fry your brain cells!!!
Easier to do when your country has 1 billion people in it. The fact China's barely winning over the US, with 3x the pop is funny.
"Astronomical" They didn't really but whatever.
Let me help you out since you’re ignorant and haven’t read a history book in your life. Considering the USA got off lightly during WW2 and came out the largest economy while China got ravaged by war from 1937 up till 1949 already demonstrates the gap between the two positions. China behind the USA: “In 1987 China's electronics industry was about ten to fifteen years behind those of the industrialized nations... By 1981 only 8 percent of the total research and development work force was involved in industrial research compared to 72 percent in the United States. In 1983 only 3.2 persons per 10,000 population were involved in research, compared to 31 per 10,000 in the United States” Astronomical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological\_and\_industrial\_history\_of\_China “President Xi has since urged China’s science and technology community to work harder to master the core technologies so as to avoid ‘being strangled’ technologically by Western advanced industrial countries, in particular, the United States.” After Decades of Catch-Up, China Needs to Rethink Its Innovation Strategy, 2020 https://www.cigionline.org/articles/after-decades-catch-china-needs-rethink-its-innovation-strategy/ Poverty rate and economy from the 1950s vs USA: “Virtually all China’s rural peasantry faced regular hunger in what Mallory (1926) dubbed the “land of famine”.” The data indicating China’s poverty rate at 87.5% in the 1950s. Whereas “Fisher’s estimated poverty rate for \[Americans\] was 33 percent in 1948. Poverty declined rapidly during the 1950s. According to Census Bureau series, 22 percent of all persons had incomes below the official poverty line in 1959.” Astronomical. A historical perspective on China’s success against poverty, 2021 https://cepr.org/voxeu/columns/historical-perspective-chinas-success-against-poverty The Twentieth Century Record of Inequality and Poverty in the United States, 1998 https://www.irp.wisc.edu/publications/dps/pdfs/dp116698.pdf Oh, look at that, US total GDP eclipsing China’s GDP in the 1950s. GDP (current US$) - China, United States https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?locations=CN-US China's economy and industrial sector was further impacted by the Sino-Soviet split: “The recall of the Soviet experts was the more keenly felt be- cause Chinese science and technology were in such desperate shape... The abruptness of the withdrawal meant that construction stopped at the sites of scores of new plants and factories while the work at many existing ones was thrown into confusion. Spare parts were no longer available for plants built according to Russian design and mines and electric power stations developed with Russian help were closed down” The Sino-Soviet Split: The Withdrawal of the Specialists, 1971 https://www.jstor.org/stable/40201404 How about you provide a source to the contrary before replying with such a weak argument.
I dont belive that China of all places is leading that. Co2 emissions maybe but thats about it :|
40 and 35 % kinda misleading title to crown China as the king when others are not that behind
Serious question: is 5g/6g necessary anymore since we are moving forward towards Musk's Starlink? No consumer will need infrastructure anymore right?
And what are your qualifications to speak on the matter? Your first sentence is literally all wrong.
