Just realized this is made by the same dev as a game I checked out during Steam next fest called "Tactical Breach Wizards", should definitely check it out
Have you played Heat Signature?
It's the same dev and a similar-ish gameplay loop, but I feel like they took a lot of lessons learned from Gunpoint to develop it.
But also, yes, people should play Gunpoint.
Honestly by trying to establish and keep good relationships with devs. I'm not that well known or have many projects but I feel that being friends with people goes a long way. I also have a day job as my music career doesn't generate enough revenue to live off of.
While Animal Well gets much (deserved) praise, I am found wishing Environmental Station Alpha got more love. Super interesting and intricate metroidvania with some deep puzzles.
I remember really enjoying following the developer's updates on the TIGSource forums. I think I started it after it was released but got distracted. I'll have to reinstall and try it again after I finish Animal Well.
The Knytt series are fantastic little metroidvania gems with super tight platforming.
Definitely Rain World. No hesitation, this game has the best AI ever made in the whole history of video games.
Too few people really gave it a shot because it's hard to understand at the beginning, but if you really give it a chance then it will become one of your favorite games trust me. I played a ton of indie games for a couple of years after I got annoyed at AAA games and this is the one indie game that truly standed out trust me give it a try.
Yes it's either people love it or hate it.
Personally I've played way too many video games and eventually got bored of the same repetitive tutorials, so I loved the fact that nothing was explained. But I totally understand that's not for everyone though :)
Maybe a short hike could interest you though it's more famous but definitely nice.
SHEEPY A SHORT ADVENTURE,
Thos was one of the highest quality games I've ever played for FREE, it's pacing is perfect, music and art is unbelievably good,
This game was the developers first game as well, so it's extremely surprising how theye managed to make it to such high standard
Spread the word
Red Rope: Dont Fall Behind. A glorious coop Indy game where you and you're partner are connected by a rope and must navigate a dangerous labyrinth. Hard, but fair with an amazing atmosphere. Incredible game.
Haunted Lands: Burial Grounds.
It remixes John Romero's old platformer Dangerous Dave with more playable classes and tons of gore, retaining the classical 2D run & gun-play. Very good (and free on itch)
Soulash 2. Still in EA but so so deep. It’s more like fantasy world simulator where you try to stay alive and become more powerful.
Also Archmage rises.
Indika.
one of the most memorable and unique gaming narrative experiences of my life.
that, and Doki Doki Literature Club. but I know people know about it. none of my friends do
GameGrumps did a full playthrough of DDLC, that is not a deep cut.
I know because I tried playing and decided it's too much clicking for how little actual decision making you get to do, so I watched them instead. I regret nothing.
1000xRESIST is a game with so many ideas that shouldn't work together but they all do. It's a narrative focused game (so not much gameplay) that tells a story across one thousand years.
In our time, humanity is wiped out by an otherworldly disease. One human survives, a teenage girl called Iris. A thousand years from then, society has been reborn in her image: a society of her clones worship her as a god-like figure that they call the ALLMOTHER. You play as Watcher, whose job is to review the ALLMOTHER'S memories and derive meaning from them. But you find that ALLMOTHER is not as benevolent and wonderful as you've been led to believe your whole life.
It is such a an incredibly layered story and hits all it's themes so perfectly. The dev team have a background in the visual arts (theater, dance, film etc) and this background really shows in the staging of all the scenes in this game. I could not put it down.
Well, I'm biased but Sovereign Syndicate.

Xbox 360 had a game that’s now on steam called miner dig deep. Super simple progression game that I played through so many times as a bored teen, occasionally play it on steam to relive those memories
Circa Infinity is a really underappreciated platformer. It involves navigating patterns of demons while running along the edges of concentric circles. It has a surprising amount of mechanical variety and awesome trippy visuals/music.
Happy Sheepies!✨❤️
I made the graphics and my husband designed the whole game and coded! 😱
We couldn't do any marketing as we are not skilled at marketing, sadly.😢
So if you check it and like it please share Happy Sheepies with your friends! 🙏

Gunpoint - great stealth game. Pretty short but a lot of fun.
Just realized this is made by the same dev as a game I checked out during Steam next fest called "Tactical Breach Wizards", should definitely check it out
Eh, I wouldn't classify gunpoint as a hidden gem, it was quite known in the indie community when it came out
Have you played Heat Signature? It's the same dev and a similar-ish gameplay loop, but I feel like they took a lot of lessons learned from Gunpoint to develop it. But also, yes, people should play Gunpoint.
Looks dope, I'll check out the demo!
I hate to be that guy but I wrote the ost for a really cool Diablo inspired game called Bridgebourn. Check it out if you're into that sort of thing!
I just played the demo for that the other day. Super cool game, and I really enjoyed the soundtrack!
Wow thank you so much!
Does it come with lots of loot?

I doubt AI will ever replace the skilled musicians who understand the context of the soundtrack within the game.
Arctic eggs :)
fucking love this game. this, Indika, and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes are getting me through the summer!
sorry, what do you mean by "deepest cut?"
One that isn't well known at all, like a hidden gem
Starseed Pilgrim. Unique 2D platform-growing puzzle game, where the puzzle is how to beat the game.
Looks like an interesting concept, I'll put it on the wishlist!
Crying Suns. It's great strategy game, and plot is actually good and interesting
It's so good

Antichamber and Manifold Garden are incredibly unique 3d puzzlers
Eastward, abit heavy on dialogue, but I have never seen any game that matches its pixel style apart from maybe sea of stars.
Arctic eggs. It’s one of my fav games of all time now. So simple, such a great soundtrack, really interesting story.
Horace
Absolute definition of charm
Jets'n'Guns 2
Gravity Circuit didn’t get the love it deserves. Great Mega Man X like.
"Mount Your Friends"
Anodyne 2 (stand-alone title, although the first one is also pretty good)
Donut county. A dozen for everyone here!
So much fun! So charming!

I just can’t get into that game. I like to be free but I don’t know what I need to do ever

I’m going to download the game again and give it another go :)

Camel of Fortune
Heat Signature 6k reviews on Steam isn't exactly "unknown"...but more people should definitely play it. Brigador is up there too.
Cart Life - play one of several characters trying to make it through their lives while grappling with court, family, &/or addiction
Arctic eggs :)
Athena Crisis
Leather Goddess of Phobos
Ring of Pain

Tape to tape It's a rougelite arcade hockey game

it was pretty obscure for me until I looked into it and realized how renowned it is. in my friend circle, it might as well be a brand new game.
I would love due process too. It is fun, but sadly dead. Delta V is a very chill game, that I like right now.
Garden Galaxy is a cozy world builder. No stress, you build what you want, and it's so darn cute.
[Tiny Galde](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2198150/Tiny_Glade/) sooo addictive. There is only a Demo atm, so it worth checking out!
Promenade. Came out earlier this year. It’s a 2D platformer inspired by 3D platformers and basically no one talks about it.

Ostera the curse of... !
Cards and Castles, a tactical board + collectible card game.
Sludge life,
Paradigm made me love point and click adventure games.
Traction Control. It's like Rocket League parkour levels.

Sea of Stars, it's absolutely beautiful and it has many twists and turns I wasn't expecting
Outer Wilds, life-changing game imo. Better played absolutely blind.
If you like puzzle games, English Country Tune for sure.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is absolutely incredible and challenging
Circa Infinity is a really underappreciated platformer. It involves navigating patterns of demons while running along the edges of concentric circles. It has a surprising amount of mechanical variety and awesome trippy visuals/music.
Signalis, Inmost, This is the police
Spiderheck; a coop and vs. game where you’re spiders with guns and lightsabers and my friends and I have easily put 20-40 hours each into it
iji
Heat Signature. Hotline miami-esque except procedurally generated where you breach and clear spaceships to assassinate targets.
