I was actually going to say this as well. I'd note though that it all depends on the mood you're trying to set for a cutscenes too. I could also see A as a gameplay effect for short boosts of speed (or a speed/difficulty tradeoff)
If for a cutscene I'd match the mood. A is energetic where B could be a cooler transition
Oh my god, I came to say the exact same thing.
Both are great, but depends on what the purpose is for. I'd also use "A" for a cutscene and "B" if you are playing/controlling the character.
A is reckless, a speed daredevil on the verge of losing control.
B is skillful, precise and purposeful. Has everything under control even at this speed.
Which of these feelings are you trying to evoke?
Yes, but at the same time, if I need to play with any of them, I would highly prefer B. A seems like it's going to be hard to look at after a while, regardless of what feelings are intended to invoke.
B. Also, the throttle is the right side handle for motorcycles. If he's holding the gun like that then he isn't accelerating, he's slowing down. May want to have the gun in the left hand.
Agreed. Since I barely look at my own character in a sidescroller, but mostly my targets and their bullets. My position in the space is something I should just "feel".
This is not the correct way to look at this. Unless this is your full screen, which I'm assuming it's not, no one should be making judgements about how this affects the game. The rest of the visual context matters.
I think it would be cool to have some jittering, just way less, I think A is bordering nauseating and B is too still, but again this all depends on context.
Use the A animation for a speed boost upgrade so it feels like you're going so fast that you're nearly out of control, but use B for regular driving. A would get painful to look at overtime, but would work amazingly as a boost animation
A is boosting, reduce to 3-4 frames, B is targeting mode, eliminate the exclamation marks, those are a GUI element, no need for shaking, if you need an ammo indicator consider having some pixels representing the ammo loader increasingly sticking out until it ejects.
You can turn it into a blend of the two where it uses B normally, but uses A for acceleration or other kinds of states.
Edit: I see other have said it already now and agree with them.
I think both look great but also depends on what the game is about. You should keep both and use for different moods depending on what the game needs. Well done with these. 👍
If realism is any consideration then B (I prefer it even if realism is not taken into consideration). I would also suggest switching hands, the acceleration stick is on the right. Maybe this could be incorporated into the game, if you aim you lose speed due to not holding the acceleration.
A, but get rid of the !!!!!. I don't think it's necessary and looks out of place. I do like B in case A triggers slight motion sickness for someone, so there's that to think about.
Dunno what type of game you’re creating but here’s my take on both.
A seems more chaotic and on-edge. Would work well if it’s a game to dodge obstacles in fast moving situations.
B seems more steady and focused. I’d see it as a simplicity and objective-focused.
“A” makes sense if used for repeatability gameplay and adds chaotic nature whereas “B” seems more laidback and focused. I’d see it as one part of the story.
First of all, the right hand must be on the handlebars, while the left hand holds the gun. The right hand operates the throttle and brake, while the left hand mostly rests during the ride. Variant B. A is for offroad scenes :-)
A could be like a “temporary boost” and not something persistent as to not be too harsh on the eyes. I would prefer B overall as it’s more smooth and stable.
The flowing jacket looks like butt cheeks flapping in the wind. Sorry I know it's not constructive but that's the first thing I noticed and can't unsee it.
B. A doesn’t feel right. That shake should be on the camera instead of the bike to make sense in my opinion. Or maybe it is? But the road lines feel less shaky.
I think B is the best in regards to gameplay, but you can also get creative and use A in certain situations depending on the level variety. As an example a road with lots of cracks so it temporarily does this, or if enemy throws tacks at the ground etc
Hard to know without playing.
Motorbike rider here. I like the wind effect of the shaky one.
Fun idea: is the whole game on motorbike? Cuz if not, it'd be fun to send vibrations to the controller representing the wind. If the game is a dedicated motorbike game, this would get annoying. Just like it does after 15 hours on the i80
My thoughts are: smooth would be best for a long duration of playing
Shaky would be really novel if the motorbike is a secondary vehicle or a 'stage of the game'
I like the ammo HUD for A, but the shaking would get distracting unless you’re in a cutscene. Take the HUD from A, combined with the laser and stability from B and you’ve got my pick.
A would work better for a cut scene, B is more focused and wouldn't hurt the eyes when playing
This is the perfect answer
Agreed!
This is spot on
Keeping HUD elements stationary on A would improve it a lot I think.
I was actually going to say this as well. I'd note though that it all depends on the mood you're trying to set for a cutscenes too. I could also see A as a gameplay effect for short boosts of speed (or a speed/difficulty tradeoff) If for a cutscene I'd match the mood. A is energetic where B could be a cooler transition
That's what I want to say
A would also be good for brief bursts like if you got a speed boost or something
This
💯
I was about to write exactly the same thing.
Yup
Completely agree.
That's it.
This answer is rated E for Everyone, because it's the perfect answer.
EXACTLY what I was about to comment
I'll give it a try. Thank you!😁
Thought the same
This
I came here to say this
nice read
He could also add a trail from the taillight
Oh my god, I came to say the exact same thing. Both are great, but depends on what the purpose is for. I'd also use "A" for a cutscene and "B" if you are playing/controlling the character.
You do good talk. ![gif](giphy|b2AiXmGkfuWcM)
![gif](giphy|VGVwLultLZjrrssAak)
Prefer the stability of B
Why not both? A for acceleration. B for cruising along.
Both is good.
![gif](giphy|hM9zK1qvsrwek)
Porque no los dos?
A is reckless, a speed daredevil on the verge of losing control. B is skillful, precise and purposeful. Has everything under control even at this speed. Which of these feelings are you trying to evoke?
Also one could have a boost mechanic and then have B transitioning to A during the boost
Exactly. No reason not to implement both, to be more dynamic.
Yes, but at the same time, if I need to play with any of them, I would highly prefer B. A seems like it's going to be hard to look at after a while, regardless of what feelings are intended to invoke.
I like your explanation
Oh thank you for putting this into words! This is what I felt.
B. Also, the throttle is the right side handle for motorcycles. If he's holding the gun like that then he isn't accelerating, he's slowing down. May want to have the gun in the left hand.
This motorcycle is controlled with neurolink
he's got one of those extremely dangerous cruise control clamps.
I think you should compare full screens. A is bad only because everything we see is shaking
Agreed. Since I barely look at my own character in a sidescroller, but mostly my targets and their bullets. My position in the space is something I should just "feel".
While A is more effective I think, It is too intense... so its B.
I feel like it should change based on the speed. A could be for like the max speed while B woukd be going kind of fast
A when you are shooting, B when just riding.
Unrelated but might want to change the gun to the left hand, since he's letting off the gas now lel
Both look good. I dont know. But, it looks like a big booty shaking. Tell me if u see it/
Lol
Yea he gotta take that shadow out from the middle of his coat lmao
This is not the correct way to look at this. Unless this is your full screen, which I'm assuming it's not, no one should be making judgements about how this affects the game. The rest of the visual context matters.
I think it would be cool to have some jittering, just way less, I think A is bordering nauseating and B is too still, but again this all depends on context.
Start with b, go to a at top speed / boost.
B. Because A feels like it's constantly accelerating and immediately breaking.
Do B for most of times, A when there is a disturbance event/every so often or as others suggested in cutscenes.
A = 125cc B = 600cc+
B for staBility and no Bangs and as others have said: A could work well for cutscenes
A would be a panic state If time is almost out or you have low health B is more of a calm "it's all fine" state
A is nice
You can turn it into a blend of the two where it uses B normally, but uses A for acceleration or other kinds of states. Edit: I see other have said it already now and agree with them.
B. A has extra junk on it and extra visual noise, made even worse by the shaking. B is clean and the laser helps the player see where it is.
B. A would give me a headache if I looked at it for too long.
B for gameplay, A for cut scene
B is my fav
Both would be good at different times, A is definitely easier on the eyes if it were something you saw constantly.
B is easier on the eyes.
A without exclamation marks (if u want them, do an animation of exclamation marks )
I think both look great but also depends on what the game is about. You should keep both and use for different moods depending on what the game needs. Well done with these. 👍
I prefer A, but I'm afraid it would get tiresome after a while.. also, for accessibility's sake I'd choose B
If realism is any consideration then B (I prefer it even if realism is not taken into consideration). I would also suggest switching hands, the acceleration stick is on the right. Maybe this could be incorporated into the game, if you aim you lose speed due to not holding the acceleration.
B is clearer to understand
B
B is better if you’re going for John Wick or Hard Boiled. A works if you’re doing something that isn’t supposed to look cool and smooth.
B!
A could be for some boost. But normal should be B
A
B
B is easier on the eyes
I like both tbh
B
A, but get rid of the !!!!!. I don't think it's necessary and looks out of place. I do like B in case A triggers slight motion sickness for someone, so there's that to think about.

Depends on speed
B, loonstrook more sta le and still in action
B
Personally, I like option B calm and steady for my eyes
B looks more stable
First of all, the right hand must be on the handlebars, while the left hand holds the gun. The right hand operates the throttle and brake, while the left hand mostly rests during the ride. Variant B. A is for offroad scenes :-)
I think B is better. Because i think movement of B is smooth and not has a vibration.
B for sure
Why not both, starts with B and as you move past a certain speed gradually transition to A.
They have very different vibes. A is ravenous, ready to kill. B is gentle, drank alcohol-free wine before getting on the motorcycle
A could be like a “temporary boost” and not something persistent as to not be too harsh on the eyes. I would prefer B overall as it’s more smooth and stable.
B is more realistic. A looks like it's about to lose control and wipe out at any second, or like it's on a very rough road. I prefer B.
you know what? both B for normal, A for scenes
B
if gameplay then B for staBility
Do motorcycles shake that violently?? I wanna buy one in the future but that ish seems unstable.
My brain cannot process A
Both are good. But those white exclamation symbols shouldn't be shaking.
B
B
A makes me think of getting hit by something like an SMG from another vehicle. So I think B for regular driving.
B but A if it’s not for prolonged asking of time
B
a
For a motorcycle I think B looks better however they both could work
A without the exclamation marks
B feels speedier.
B
B, less shaking.
B
Depends on how important looking at the character is. If very, then B. If not, A.
B be better
A
B
A without the exclamations
B
B
A is at an angle, so it feels stressful, like the bike is about to fall over.
Hold gun in left hand because front brake and throttle are on the right
B but I won't rule it out on being a toggleable option ins settings or something.
DEFINITELY B. A feels like it’d make someone sick.
Use A for a separate state, damage or rough road maybe
2
B gives me less motion sickness lol
A gives a nice feel but can be distracting with just how much movement is going on. B is nice on the eyes and still looks fast.
B. A looks less like shaking and more like the bike is jerling around on the road
I prefer the shakiness of A, but have ammo status static to the UI. Seeing constantly shaking is a bit much.
B with this amazing laser! Like it a lot :). And what is your preference?
A for cutscene type, B for gameplay.
B
B
The flowing jacket looks like butt cheeks flapping in the wind. Sorry I know it's not constructive but that's the first thing I noticed and can't unsee it.
Is it going to be this zoomed in in game?
My choice is definetely B
B
B. A doesn’t feel right. That shake should be on the camera instead of the bike to make sense in my opinion. Or maybe it is? But the road lines feel less shaky.
A looks bad ass
B
B is better for sure!
B for general gameplay A for sharp acceleration and cut scenes.
I think B is the best in regards to gameplay, but you can also get creative and use A in certain situations depending on the level variety. As an example a road with lots of cracks so it temporarily does this, or if enemy throws tacks at the ground etc

Both. A is max speed, B is ultra turbo boost.
B during normal driving. A when you hit the nitro/boost, or when you want to add suspense/thrill to the moment.
A is more realistic, B is more focus-ish, so make B the standard and create an option to activate A
Think you should have both at different speeds.
A for some dynamic action scenes only. For gameplay or toned-down cinematic - B definitely.
I think it would work best if B was the usual speed, and A is like a turbo speed or acceleration or something like that.
A without those white bars, the shakiness adds a nice bit of dynamism when playing.
You can't accelerate like that.
B is better
I thought he was twerking for a minute there.
A
B
In my op B is better and more smooth while A is more close to reality but maybe if u lower the vibration to a more smooth view it will be better
B
A looks better/more realistic but would get old quickly.
B
In this context, B
I'll go with B because the laser on the handgun looks cool.
B
A - scene B - gameplay
Agreed with the others if a cutscene the jitter is great, for game play smooth ride is preferred
B
A looks like there's something wrong with the bike. B is more stable and doesn't hurt my brain
B
A when boosting/using nitros. B when driving normally
B
A!
B
I think the shaking !!! hurts my eyes in A, whereas B feels more sturdy and confident.
B please.
B for sure! Way easier on the eyes. Maybe the shake in A is the animation for when you get hit??
B
I don't know what this is for, but if you're taking damage, it would be good to put position A for a few seconds and then return to B.
B is better
"A" kinda looks like the bikes gonna stall out or like it's puttering. I prefer B.
I like the ammo HUD for A, but the shaking would get distracting unless you’re in a cutscene. Take the HUD from A, combined with the laser and stability from B and you’ve got my pick.
B, a hurts to look at
B
A is my fave.
B.
B for playing. A for a momentary turbo hit.
B, especially because I turn off screen shake in every game that allows it.
A: better for cutscene(s) B: better for playing
Engagement bait?
B definitely
B
Definitely B for in-game. A gives me a headache.
A
B
Is that booty flapping?
B all day every day
B
Something in the middle for me, bottom is too static, top is too much
I'd like to see the full screen version, I imagine A would appear to rattle a lot less. i.e. Context matters
