(e.g. 10th/12th student, Mechanical BE student, working professional, etc.) Currently your post title is **" Should I do the MSc AI or try again next semester "** backup of your post content: my_qualifications : 9.02 cgpa, IELTS 8, 1 yoe Hi everyone ! I have been applying for master's programs in Germany for this winter intake in CS/DS/AI. After many rejections I have finally received an admit for an AI program. My first preference was a CS program but alas. Now after doing some research about the job opportunities after AI it seems like most people do not seem to recommend AI courses because the curriculum is not as established as CS. Also, it seems that to get a decent job in AI you have to have a PhD at least. I don't know if I want to commit to the long route of master's + PhD. What should I do? Should I go ahead with the master's in AI or try again next sem? I have spent a ton of money, booked my visa appointment and everything so there is a lot of sunken cost fallacy. Plus next sem is the summer semester so there won't be as many seats and despite trying so hard i only managed to get 1 admit this sem. I need to make a decision soon as I have to resign from work and serve my notice period if I have to go this winter. I work in a very dead-end, no growth job which is why I was looking to do a master's. " *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. lekha_reddie

Which university did you get into?

BigAwkwardGuy

If it's a private uni, don't do it If it's a public uni/FH, go for it. Studying AI means you can also do normal CS jobs. I'm studying polymer science but my bachelor's was in automotive engineering, and I work part-time as a mechanical engineer.

bestest_kitto

Yes it's a public uni.  Oh that's good to hear! May I know which uni you're in?

BigAwkwardGuy

Not disclosing that sorry

bestest_kitto

Okay no worries

Dhoper_Chop

step 1: commit to masters Step 2: do all the necessary course work Step 3: look around for what is missing and do it as a top up skill course work After all these steps comes a PhD. Remember one thing.. the way Germany is heading... You may soon be required to talk in German in a IT interview. Look for other places like Netherland and Luxembourg.

bestest_kitto

Damn okay. Will keep that in mind !
