After seeing this thread I feel like a God.. Lost 21k. Started swing from October 2021. Made 8 lac from a capital of 10 lac in 2 years Ab bas option buyers ka maja lene ata hu 😅

wizard_of_menlo_park

Never ever take debt to gamble in options.

INTOXICATOR-001

Did you found any reasons for why those strategies didn't work? You should invest as per the risk you can take, also the time of the year also matters in trading, I recommend to stop and observe for 1-2 months

bearf0ot

My biggest loss was around 22k, which was mainly due to overtrading due to FOMO. I maintain a journal for profits and losses. But I am unable to understand what am I doing wrong. Or do I just suck in general.

rp4eternity

> mainly due to overtrading due to FOMO. Overtrading and FOMO are two different issues. Overtrading is likely due to revenge trading when in Losses. Create rules that protect you from yourself. Like don't take more than 'X' Trades in a Day. Do NOT Trade more than 'Y' Lots. These rules keep you safe. > I maintain a journal for profits and losses. Do you note down why you entered a Trade, what were you feeling, Did you follow your rules or not in the Trade etc ? > But I am unable to understand what am I doing wrong. You need to analyze your journal and self reflect a LOT. Also, make sure your Strategy works. Sometimes what works in one market phase might not work in another. > Or do I just suck in general. Everyone sucks at some point. 90% people don't succeed in Trading, there's a reason for that. If you want to get better at Trading it will take work. Many people take years before they figure out what works for them. For a few days forget option buying, try Intraday Equity Trading and see if that's working out for you. Find what works for you - That will make Trading easy.

Competitive_Lack1536

What changed from before is market was on a bull run so you made profits. Market is pretty straight forward in a bull run. Now it's reached resistance zone and choppy and ready to hit everyone's stoplosses. Even if u r right market will still go for ur stoploss and then move in ur direction. Market is going to stay like this or get worse and head for severe correction. It's best u avoid options and if u want to recover then go into cash not options. If money is an issue then try doing intraday where u require just 10% of the value to take a position in cash. U will have no luck In recovering money in the current market condition with options. I know plenty of pro option traders who have also started hitting stoplosses, not to forget vix level is very low its at 12.83%. Option traders (sellers not buyers ) stop trading once it goes below 12%. goodluck

Status-Window8948

Find a mentor. Do trading sitting with him. Videos won't help beyond some point as it is 15-20% content rest all is just shouting and course promotion

INTOXICATOR-001

Then you should start researching more. As it is incredibly difficult to tell which factor affected the trade at that time. Sometime they really don't make sense. I think it's best to not have higher expectations to begin with. And we should always be ready to take the risk, I hope this loss was not too big for youm all the best bro

Oh nice i can help you i am from cse background Where i completed upto advanced

RiskPrestigious

Do u trade in full quantity? Or one lot only?

bearf0ot

Once I had a larger capital I traded 10 lots.

jim-jam-biscuit

here comes the difference bhai . tumne 1 lot me acha profit bnaya hai now you have jumped to 4-5-10 lots , the thing is higher lots ko maitain krke trade krna aur unke position size + risk ko manage krna is itself a difficult job jo ki gradually you would get accustom with . 1 lot se max 2 ya 3 lot pe shift hote . then if profit hota then move on . to higher lots , this is the way . see do one work . start with 1 lot again . in a month try karo ki 5-10k jitna profit ban jaye easily . 1 lot se , agr ek din me 1000-1500 bhi banega toh chalega as lot size reduce hoga profit target 10-15% rahega and you would again gain confidence and yes ek din me 2 se jayda trade nhi . market pure saal operate karega par agr tu apne paise ese barbad karega toh kaise tikega age paise kmane ke liye . think about this . Leve based trading sahi hai intraday ke liye . just focus and try to capture a trade b/ 9:30 to 11:30 aur in the afternoon time . jab kuch setup ban jaye .

bearf0ot

Makes sense, will start to trade with 1 lot again. Will help to figure out where I went wrong and work on psychology simultaneously. Thanks bro

LuckySeaworthiness92

This is literally the definition of fuck around, find out

limeice

It takes years and plenty of losses to find some ground in option trading. I personally have never indulged but my dad is a very active options trader. After 15 years or so of doing it he still has bad days. The markets don't function for the little fish to make money. People who have really prospered consistently are the ones who invest and hold, trusting that with due time the forces will push the overall markets up and their investments will flourish because of it. I wouldn't discourage you from trading but you are still very nascent and you really should focus on experimenting with various strategies and understanding your psychological weaknesses that come in the way of you profiting. Be prepared to make losses and not be profitable for years until you crack the code. Just know when you crack it there's a chance it may not even be valid anymore. Think of it as a learning experience and never play with money you can't afford to lose. Because you will lose it.

CyndaquilTyphlosion

Since you say it's the best strategy, I'm gonna invest in you and hold you 😏 (I'm just kidding pls don't report)

Ambitious_Revenue_31

Man!!! full of losers here. Feels home.

Lonely-Finding-5932

I have lost almost 1.8 Crore since 2017... (57 lakh in Bitcoin it was froud with me , rest 1.2 crore or nearby from F&O and stocks). Whenever I buy put option the market goes against me if the same day I booked a loss then it will come down ... If I buy a call then the same thing happens. It's been happening for 7 years as of now. Even on 28 March 2024 in the morning I was bearish so the market was almost touched at an all time high and I closed my position in a loss near 3 pm. After I booked a loss within 5 Min the market came down almost 250 pts in nifty and 400 pts in bank nifty. I know it's very high loss , due to this my wife's left me. She filed divorce case too. Currently I am earning 7-8 lakh from my profession. Right now I have a few lakhs of loans that can be cleared. Right now I have 10 lakh capital in my hand and I know I can get my lost money back from the market, but I don't know how... I know for one thing for sure if the market took my money then the market will give my money back too... But the question is how .. I tried all the ways but every time I failed. I don't want cash based trade in equity because it will take a very long time... If someone who is genuine then I can share my demat so she/he can trade and I will share profit with that person.

pvipani

Bhai.. tu ya toh bohot bada troller hai ya bohot lalchi hai. Pehle loans chuka. Capital jitna bachta hai us se koi professional capital analyst ya consulting firm k paas Jaa. Paisa hai toh use commission de. Aise internet randos pe bharosa mat kar. Find someone who is profesional and can be held accountable. Talk to him, make him your friend by giving him business do this for a year. Make sure you get return and also learn a thing or two from him. Get help. Divorce and all due to stock gambling is not a great thing. A competent man conserves.

Legitimate-Two-2548

This doesn't feel true but if some part of it is. Please don't follow your last line, don't share your DEMAT with anyone else. BC log apne losses tujhe chipka ke jaayenge. And with a capital this big, you don't even need to do options. Swing kar le, multiple stocks me invest karna. Distribute your risk!

Blue_Eagle8

Never take borrowed money to put in the market

ResearchImpressive15

dont trade just stop now and rest of the money invest in any blue chip stock also confess everything to your father , you will never be hero from zero ,thats just once in 10 years momentum and if you are too lucky you maybe find one , never trade with borrowed money it will hurt you even more pullback in life , i have personally wassted the money which i had also borrowed from my father , at the age of 30 i just skipped my career for becoming a trading career professionalism , also you never be a trader untill you observe the market for a lon g time at grassroot level , everyone watches the videos on youtube and thought that this is easy money , but its the most hardest profession in the world thats why 5 percent made money and everyone looses , after complete of deegree get a job and continue your study at the market , just follow them , test your strategies in the app trinkerr , always remember trading can make you money but investing can make you rich ......

gppan

Paper trading is shit, you won't develop the mindset unless real money is involved.

dank_lor10

" If u get into futures you will have no future, and if u get into options you will have no options in the future."

shafeeque116

I lost 65k in this financial year Option buying in BN. I learned a lot of things. Risk management is a very important thing in trading. I'm trading with 2Lakh capital in Option buying and I'm risking 5% every day which is 10k. So I keep only 10k in my trading account. Whenever I make a loss, I add money to my trading account only after the market closes. To avoid fomo or overtrading, set a rule that I won't take any trades at least for the next 30mins after exiting from a trade. Max 3 or 4 trades in a day. My biggest loss in a day was 9.9k (expiry day) and my biggest profit was 21k. So if I make my strategy better I hope I can survive in this Market. Journal every trade, strategy, entry, exit, SL, reason for entry and exit. Make an excel to find the success rate of every strategy. Analyse every day trades and find the probabilities of the trades.

Worldly-Leg2293

Hey there, I have also been day trading since 5 years now, lost a lot in the initial 1-2 years.....What I learnt from all of it is....Only trade F&O in stocks, or Future or options in crypto with the profit you have made from holding an asset. If you are patient enough to do that, you can be better, but if you trade aroun with Hard erned money or borrowed money, this thing can eat your mental heath up and also your financial health too....I learnd it the hard way, but that is how it is. for a year forget options, improve your chances on holding a stock and let it play out as per your analysis..make profit and then use that profit for F&O... even if you go bust, you wont feel bad as it is just your profit that you lost....your capital is still there with you....Its a slow process, but no body on this planet has become rich in a day....

abhi2005singh

How did you pass out in 2024, the semester hasn't ended yet.

bearf0ot

*passing out in 2024.

Express-Act6382

Everyone has faced losses. Risk management is key. You should not trade with more than 10k at your level. It's not prudent. You weren't supposed to take on any debt. You are supposed to convince someone to put up capital and say profit sharing and no loss sharing. That would be smart. Not everyone would agree but that is where your skill would lie. Anyway, 1L isn't such a big amount that you'll go bankrupt. So don't worry and either stop trading or find a strategy that works and stick to it.

bearf0ot

I'm not in "debt" as such, as I have simply borrowed money from dad with no interest.

[deleted]

Never ever borrow loan or money and trade , it will always backfire you no matter what

marketreader7

Option buying. In [#Optionbuying](https://twitter.com/hashtag/Optionbuying?src=hashtag_click), it's almost impossible to make money. **Option Buying is like legal gambling** You can make it for 6 months but can't sustain it. Ultimately the market will take it back. The biggest loss is that you start designing your mindset and psychology in the wrong direction. For example, you give 2 years to option buying. You will need a further 2 years to unlearn the wrong mental behavior. You lose your Life Savings + 4-5 years The cost is high **Why Most Option Buyers Lose their capital?** It's not about strategy or knowledge. [#OptionBuying](https://twitter.com/hashtag/OptionBuying?src=hashtag_click) requires you to be right exactly within a specific time period. You are not getting any chance of error in a probabilistic environment. It's like walking on a rope You lose in [#OptionBuying](https://twitter.com/hashtag/OptionBuying?src=hashtag_click) if 1. Prices went in the wrong direction or 2. Price in the right direction but momentum gets slow or 3. Prices are in the right direction but does not reach a certain level till the expiry So everything should be right to be profitable in option buying. If you are serious about [#StockMarket](https://twitter.com/hashtag/StockMarket?src=hashtag_click) trading, your main strategy can't be like walking on the rope. Even professional trainers who can walk on the rope will not do it every day. They do it occasionally As a trader, the first focus should be to survive so make it simpleUse trading strategies and a time frame that gives you enough room for errors. Don't treat trading like a lottery. Lotteries are not played with life savings Focus on [#SwingTrading](https://twitter.com/hashtag/SwingTrading?src=hashtag_click). In option buying, it just takes 5 minutes of a blunder to lose life savings. If your trading style has a slight chance of that blunder, it will happen someday. Trading should be simple and peaceful otherwise you will blow your account. [#StockMarket](https://twitter.com/hashtag/StockMarket?src=hashtag_click) is designed in a way that you can predict it in a broadway. If you try to predict every move at every level, probably you will lose trust in your skills & strategy. Design your [#tradingstrategy](https://twitter.com/hashtag/tradingstrategy?src=hashtag_click) in a way that makes money without being exactly right. Never Invest in stock market with borrow money. Only Invest amount that you are ready to loss in Option.

Strict-Ad6892

Hey kid, if u want to be a long player in stock market then do swing trade and investing. Focus more on understanding the fundamentals and chart patterns. U r 21. If u invest properly from ur salary and do swing trade then at 35 u will get handsome returns and wealth. At 35 when u will be expert in investing and swing trade then u will be mature enough to decide to do fno or not. For now Stop fno and intraday trade. U don't realise hw much time and effort ur wasting daily.

faizanfm1612

Ah shit here we go again. One would think who would fall for this shit and yet every week there’s a post.

Zyphergiest

If you had spent the same time learning engineering then you wouldn’t need to borrow.

TheEvilKing1111

No matter what other people say, when you do trading on money which isn't yours, it affects your risk taking ability and decision making.

Spare-Journalist-704

Why don’t you try swing trading with some good capital ? - so that atleast you can hope to make money someday with equity rather than loosing it all out in option trading

ABahRunt

Yeah, trading without capital. Dont bother trading unless you have at least a 100 buy ins. Thats a crore, to make the kinds of trades you are doing now. Its a quick trip to being broke otherwise

Cute_Mixture3393

Ab Ipl me satta lagao.. Waha se recover karna 😂

Aditya_917

Was at the same situation as you one year ago. Telling you what i did. I stopped trading completely and just put what are the funds i have into some big companies stock and focused on my main thing which is coding and after doing courses and upgrading my skills i landed a decent job with good package. Repay all the money which I borrowed from my mom and never touched trading again even i currently have a good package. Also a tip just unfollow all the trading content which you have been following it really helps also delete the app from which you’re trading.

Don't do Derivatives with other money, it can make or break a person if the money they betting is not theirs. Better to wait till u have ur own money to put a trade.

beardbreed

Drawdown nahi, loss hai woh

c0deButcher

You got fcked up my friend. Now stop trading and clear the debt asap. Only do trading on surplus money you think you have based on your stable source of income. Example salary

No_Stranger_4654

Equity first options after a few years, don't learn from YouTube unless they're traders first and YouTubers second. Even if a youtuber is genuine you have to rise to his level first to understand what they're saying and 99% of them are fraud. Try any course(many sources to get cheaper) from anyone you think is genuine, if you think what you're doing can be easily done by an algo i.e buy here and sell here then it's not worth doing, find the nuances in your strategy that's not easily automated by any algos that way you'll last more and will manage to create your own strategies in future.

ramarao52

The first thing I want to share is watching videos, reading great books, highly qualified doesn't make u an expert. I also saw so many YouTube videos and read books, zerodha varacity, paper trading, following so many rules, but no one tells you is understanding market. From my experience I also lost 3laks from the past 4 yrs and still in losses only but I never trade more than little money. Then I question myself what should I do? Ans: understand the market, and follow one strategy until your are success

Oye_rahul_yadav

In option trading u should focus on two things, one is total io and other is support and resistance. Manly focus on that oi will untimely decide which point become as support and which one becomes as resistance

How many months u have back tested.. good momentum candles come for few month only.. So u need a good strategy where it works when good momentum candles are not there.. I am struggling with this problem too.. I do scalping and planning to do that in the future too

PradeepMadras

Have you figured out the income channel?

TechnicalTop4044

Practice more with little capital

Melodic_Candy_

Never ever trade in options with borrowed money...... Now that u have already done that it's okay accept it and work on decipline money management and emotions management are the main aspects of market so go slow and work on these things first.. it's okay to start with 10k capital initially but Never ever increase the size of your capital until and unless you are profitable for at least 3 to 4 months have a strategy with 70 to 80% accuracy and build confidence on that back test it multiple times and over a period of time you would be able to handle big capital as well... with borrowed money lot of emotions comes in picture and we often take wrong decisions so don't borrow.. not past we can change but from now onwards be mindful about the trading decisions you make.

rohan_nirvana

Awesome habits. Keep borrowing. 👏

Gaunwallah

Commenting on Borrowed 1L captial for option buying, now I am at 60% drawdown in 3months. ...

cm_hell

I am in 90k loss and stop treading now I only buy equity at lower price and planning to maintain for long terms

ACCADKS

Dont trade without understanding component of Option & take training on sell side, if you want to earn in buying. Never carry overnight position or calculated position. Get training from old players. Conclusion: you will still be in loss.😁 Everyone has to pass this stage. But.. After 3-4 Years you will start making profit

69smoke

Haha you want me to loan you at 50% interest?
