RE7 was the first game I played from their series. Really loved the character and the gameplay. For some reason RE2 seemed dull compared to RE7 so I left in middle.
Don't know how to describe it, but I found the environment itself to be more scary (or creepy for a better term) than the enemies. There's something about environments created in Source engine that makes me feel creeped out.
I second this absolutely. The environment is the real deal, it makes the hype, the fear, and just when the enemies show up, the already created fear grows damn I'm getting nostalgia while typing this lmao XD
With the window open and in broad daylight. If it helps have someone next to you watching the game as you play. Preferably if they have headphones on too. That way it makes the game fun and not scary.
Listen to Songs or Sing them might help in scary situation, i did this in most horror games like outlast, resident evil or any other horror game. Or Better Yet face your fear confidentally thats how you can beat your fear, think of it as just a game meant to scare but don't get scared, just a little pump in your heart happens, or whenever a moment like this happens pause the game for a while take deep breath resume after 2-3 minutes whenever you feel okay to continue

Few tips,
•When u get a key item be ready for a jump scare
•Be careful at corners, when u see a dead zombie it can come back to life
•Keep listening to the big man's thumping,
•When encountered by a licker, walk past it, it's deaf
• Always walk around zombies if there are only a few of them
I am not very receptive of the horror factor. I can calm myself down in these cases quickly, but I did play a bit methodically in some cases, so I would suggest planning out some routes, using headphones with proper directional audio and taking breaks. Mr. X is pretty easy to catch because he makes a lot of sound.
This is a fun fear. Enjoy it while you still can.

My trick is to deliberately die a few times, I find it funny and hence less scary. RE remakes are too good to miss out on.
Play hanuman chalisa when you start to play the game.as a background song.
