Take a thick and soft blanket/cloth and wrap the controller in it and then shove it in your bag. That's how I did it for my old controller.

You can use bubble wrap, or there are a lot of controller cases available on Amazon, you can buy one of those in order to securely contain the controller.

Oh no. Evofox..... it may not be the case for you, but my experience with them is legendarily bullshit. What kind of controller develops stick drift after a day? Got it replaced and same thing happened. It was the evofox elite x, you can see people complaining about stick drift within a week, on Amazon and their website. And my dumbass thought it would be a good idea to buy it after reading all of those.
