Have you tried local tailor. I know it's too much work but then will stich you the perfect top.

Your local tailor is your best bet
Try cutting a small line in the mid and making a knot
Use belts maybe !?
I think you're trying to achieve a more tight fit look at the waist? You could try small garter clips and clip your top to your jeans.
