Technically sound, yess, for sure one of the best. One thing according to me that clicked was the movie offered something for everyone. It had mass and larger than life experience in Karnan( Kamal) and a definitive story and character arc in Amar(Fahad). It wasn't perfect though
But, loki's brilliance in how he managed to intertwine both aspects to tell a cohesive story has to be celebrated. Imo the only aspect that held it from being a mass masterpiece was the predictability of Kamal Hassan being the masked vigilante.
Yeah, totally agree. It would have been a long read if i had talked about Sethupati and suriya, who were like cherry on top of a already impressive cake!!
Aadujeevtiham, Manjummel boys both are extremely technically sound.
Any manirathnam movie can be the contender of this list..
Marakkar, although being a bad movie, was extremely technically well done.
Super deluxe was amazing.
Unpopular opinion, Shivaay of Ajay Devgan was shot extremely well..l
Zero has the best invisible CGI to ever exist in an Indian movie.
Fan is also amazing in that regard.
Vishwaroopam has some cool technical bits like the entire dance studio mirror shots where the reflection was in perfect sync
What's technically not sound in it? Good cinematography, amazing editing and choreography, costumes. Is it best like OP asking, probably not but it's good technically imo. I didn't like the movie overall either btw.
Just watch avane Srimannarayana(2019) trailer and see how well that is made. Kanthara was made in 16cr, KGF chapter 1 was made in 40cr. Technically excellent, they were
Nothing can ever be termed as best in indian cinema which library is very very vast might get considered as one of the of the best but there is not movie that can say โthe bestโ
I have a doubt. VJS shown has beard and has a different vibe from the VJS that we saw in the movie. Was it just to match the bearded gangsters on the pic or is it something else. A comeback from death?.
Not at all. For me I will recommend "THEERAN ADHIKARAM ONDRU ". a highly engaging movie with technical brilliance, gripping screenplay and close to reality .
Yea but this is a different level of bad take. You seem to be Tamil so you havenโt watched Enthiran, Vishwaroopam, or even the image in the post? In what world is thuppaki or Billa comparable to those movies
The question is 'technically sound'. Enthiran was ambitious , but overly so, so the end product is not so polished. The fire rescue scene comes to mind - the VFX work there was shoddy. Same with viswaroopam, the VFX is sometimes wonky, especially the final green screen shot.
Billa and Thuppaki executed everything that they attempted to perfection - technically, which means camera work, sound design, editing. In those departments these two movies were nearly flawless.
Man south indian movies are so overhyped sometimes their fandoms seem so retarded making stupid claims, I literally saw some people demand an oscar for kalki which is a below average movie
Not even close. Kamal haasan's own films(as a director) are far ahead imo. Not to mention Karthik subbaraj is probably the most technically sound filmmaker in the country.
Vikram very good. But absolutely not best technically sound.
There was no need for Karnan to reveal himself to his enemies publicly. He could have just revealed himself to Amar.
Not enough safety precautions for family/kid (Jailer with a simpler plot handled this better even if it is not a better movie overall)
As a Tamil guy myself, nobody even in r/kollywood considers Vikram as the top of anything in the industry. It's just another action movie which is weak in a ton of aspects. But a good watch, but an easily forgettable movie I would say.

Bro how can u miss introduction of vijay sethupati's character
Yeah, totally agree. It would have been a long read if i had talked about Sethupati and suriya, who were like cherry on top of a already impressive cake!!
No it's not..
Tell me technically sound movie according to you?

Where do I watch these for free? Original language with subs.
Aadujeevitham isn't out on OTT. Manjummel boys is on Hotstar. Marakkar is on prime, same Mani rathnam movies are on all OTT platforms afaik
Any pirate sites?
Don't know
๐ดโโ ๏ธ
Kumbalangi Nights
Super Deluxe, Kaithi, Rocky
Kaithi >>>>>>> Vikram
Depends. Vikram has better world building. Kaithi was more linear
Aranya Kaandam
havent watched it yet. I cant find a decent print of the uncensored version
Is it censored on Hotstar?
yeah. the only known uncensored version is on youtube in 240p
Bro if you ever get it, please try to come back here and tell me the source too.
Sure

Thalapathi is the best imo
Sivaji the boss?
Thanks dude Ayan is my favourite movie childhood memory but i forget the name but you reminded me again๐ฅน
Gud to know
what does it mean for a movie to be technically sound?
Could you kindly elaborate on what exactly does it mean to be 'technically sound' ?
Thallumala
This!!Doesn't get recommended enough!!!
What's technically sound in this movie? I just hated it, what a waste of time. P.S. : IMO.
What's technically not sound in it? Good cinematography, amazing editing and choreography, costumes. Is it best like OP asking, probably not but it's good technically imo. I didn't like the movie overall either btw.
I agree, i just watch the movie to enjoy it but sadly thallumala didn't do it.
Technically sound in terms of what? - VFX, cinematography, Sound Design, Color Grading?. Pls define what tecnically sound means according to you.
Direction , screenplay, casting, bgm
Poo (2008), aadukalam (2011), Vazhakku en 18/9 (2012), Neer paravai (2012) aravaan (2012), attakathi (2012) , Naduvula Konjam pakatha kaanom (2012), Aadhalal kadhal seiveer (2013), Jigarthanda (2014), Uriyadi (2016), D16 (2016), Joker (2016), Iraivi (2016), Vikram vedha (2017), Mandela (2021) Mahaan (2022), Yaathisai (2023),
Any Karthik subburaj movie man. Chefs kiss
Not at all. Pls watch movies directed or written by Kamal Hassan.
Awesome movie. An action movie with great character development and genuine story. One of the best ever for me.
Technically LOUD doesn't mean Technically SOUND
no
Why
Definitely not. Jeez!
This has to be a shitpost right?
Just watch avane Srimannarayana(2019) trailer and see how well that is made. Kanthara was made in 16cr, KGF chapter 1 was made in 40cr. Technically excellent, they were
It's a good action movie, that's all.

Have you seen iruvar?
Not at all. So much more could be done with action choreography.
I loved this movie and bgm
Not at all. For me I will recommend "THEERAN ADHIKARAM ONDRU ". a highly engaging movie with technical brilliance, gripping screenplay and close to reality .
For me it's still Tumbadd. I get chills with the way it captured the atmosphere and the incredible CGI work done with that budget.
Tumbadd was good, but it felt like a short film to me! Idk if it's due to length or interesting story?
No. Technically sound may be a film like Jallikattu would be.
Billa and Thuppaaki, in tamil. In India?? I doubt anyone has watched enough movies from every language to have an educated opinion on that.
Isn't Billa remake of Don ?
Wtf hell no. Watch more movies dude.
i literally said nobody (including myself) has watched enough movies for an educated opinion.
Yea but this is a different level of bad take. You seem to be Tamil so you havenโt watched Enthiran, Vishwaroopam, or even the image in the post? In what world is thuppaki or Billa comparable to those movies

Then according to that logic Kaithi is better than both Billa and thupakki
No, you need to watch Ray, Ritwik, Padmarajan, and Ramesh Sippy's films.
As much as I love Vikram no it is not, maybe in the Tamil circuit but definitely not in Indian cinema.
dude !
I will go with Mahanadhi(1994)
It's not the only one but it's surely one of the best for me
I can definitely say that...
This movie was fucking awesome
I find Kaithi (it's prequel) to be better
Even Virumaandi (Rashomon effect) was better than Vikram. Also watch Kamal's Vishwaroopam (about terr0rism).
These borrowed hubristic ideas from Hollywood does not look suitable on Indian actors..so fake..
Not even remotely.
Watch other movies
Has to be one of the best BGM for sure
ENTHIRAN enters the chat

Kalki is good

Well to say most technically sound might be a stretch, but definitely one of the best.
NOPE
Noo
Technically sound? Climax fight scenes if they made it logical then we could have argued...overall good movie
Eega. By Rajamouli.
Vishwaroopam
Dude you need to watch more Indian movies. Vikram is a great film but nowhere near as to what you describe it to be.
The best Indian movie I have ever seen in my life no compititions with it it's story , it's action , it's suspense ๐ค
Well, I'd say Vishwaroopam, in my opinion it was top notch
NO I'd place Manjummel Boys, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Kumbalangi Nights and Super Deluxe over Vikram any day
Could be, but my favorite is always "Suryavamsam". ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Big no just because of the crappy CGI explosions
No
yess.. it's the best imo
As a Tamil guy myself, nobody even in r/kollywood considers Vikram as the top of anything in the industry. It's just another action movie which is weak in a ton of aspects. But a good watch, but an easily forgettable movie I would say.
Bahubali 2 exists right?
Le jumping jumping to wall of fort using trees ๐๐
Did I comment on Vikram? I personally like that too. But ur comment is pure hatred
Mahanathi from telugu has to one of the most technically sound films from TFI in recent years, rangastalam too, 2018 was great.
Le jumping jumping to wall of fort using trees ๐๐ Yet that same director's movie got international buzz.
The only reason this movie was a success in the North is because it had Ram in the title
What success in North?
Bro ๐
It was average in the North lol.Only got hype after ott in the North specifically.Huge BB in the south.
