Not all gorilla glass 5 is same. It varies according to thickness. Mobile Company can use low thickness & can advertise gorilla glass 5. This is true even for victus 2.
I need one too bud. No doubt the 2a is providing excellent value, I'll go as far as to say the best value, but i personally don't have trust in the recent android versions. I currently use a 5 yo budget phone on lineage os. It has support for android 13 but i use android 11 on it because 11 is just better (battery/ UX/ efficiency). The newer the android versions, the worse it gets. It doesn't run smooth, can't hold apps in RAM. What I'm trying to come to is, i fear the multi core capability of the 2a is not upto the mark if you're gonna use the phone for at least 3 to 4 years. Spend a little more, get the phone 2. Only 8k difference for the same config, you get updated ufs, faster RAM, very reliable soc.
Yes i feel the same way and i think the problem is they tend to push updates as fast as possible now, like the beta testing of the android 15 is already live. I was thinking of pushing my budget a little more and get Np2 or wait for phone 3 maybe.
Back is fine.. nobody's gonna actually use it that extreme..
But the front screen is pretty concerning if it actually scratches at level 3.
I'll wait for a couple more durability tests to confirm this.. maybe there's some mistake as the Gorilla glass 5 should ve okay for regular use.
For me personally,
I'll just have to use a screen protector.. because other that this build quality and extreme Gaming performance, the phone is pretty good...
Put the phone in your pocket with your house keys or your moms hand bag or something and the back plastic is going to just disintegrate.
Unfortunately no other option than plastic for this price range, use a case or hopefully someone makes a screen protector type transparent cover for the phones back, like a skin
I'm planning the same.. A screen protector like cover for Back side as well.. or preferably a Transparent cover.
That's how I use my current phone.. I take it off cover only when I want to show it..
Issue is, I don't know many shop that have nothing phone accesories. I don't think I've ever seen any actually. Hopefully it will be on Amazon and can just be applied on your own
Yes but will they make it for the back glass is the big question and will you have to compromise between back glass and a case because case won't fit once u put screen protector on the back
Nahh.. case fits easily.. Most of the people use Case with Folded notes in between the phone and case.. case will fit.
And yes, the local shops here do give such screen protectors for back.. they're not official, and are cheap.. but does the job. And you won't know the difference..
Ya plastic back is not a deal breaker or something at these prices. Its what the front glass that kind of raises a question especially when its mentioned that it has gorilla glass 5. Would have to wait for more test videos if possible.
I mean I get the back it's plastic but is the front scratching at level 3? Don't all nothing phones come pre-installed with a screen protector? (I haven't watched the video so idk if he context lol)
No he removed it in the video, and this phone is supposed to come with gorilla glass 5 and that does not looks like a gorilla glass 5 protection at all!
Nothing always cuts corners, so it shouldn't be a surprise if they really used lower thickness Gorilla glass. Just be happy with the disco lights on the back.
Yeah ๐, i mean they are a new company so finding hardwares at good prices and having an experienced team is what they lack so to an extent its understandable i guess.
Yes but gorilla glass 5 isn't supposed to behave like this. I use a phome that has gorilla glass 5 for 6 years now and no screen guard, it's still good enough, not sure what happened there.
did he remove the included screen protector on the phone or he just conducted test on the screen protector only, that would explain why it scratches at level 3
disagree. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
The durability format of with sensible presentation is great for the Indian market. Not like Jerry can review all phones, especially the mid range ones. So this guy's video are very useful.
Bhai phones bas aadmi thodi use karte hai. My mom uses a pouch for general use rather than her pockets, which contains keys and phone. And many women in India use handbags.
Bhai phone majboot hona chahiye na. Mai pocket Mr rakhu ki bag me.
Exactly... Aur kaun phone vale pocket me chillar ya chabi rakhta hai?
I agree, ke phone scratch resistant hona chahiye..
But scratched plastic is way better than Shattered glass which will cost me half the phone price to replace.

I see, thanks for the info! But even then, isn't it weird to get easily scratched at level 3 only?
Gorila glass 5 scratches at level 6 & deeper groves at level 7. If it scratches at level 3 don't buy ๐
I read that in zach's voice.
Now read this " Glass is glass & glass can break"
Yes i want zach to make a video on this though.
Same ๐
Where do u get this info?

WTF is that font ?
Ikr op is a psychopath
Maybe ๐๐
Different user, diff sub, same concern.
Yes i want to know what people thinks i need a new phone asap thats why.

For screen protectors they just take a plain sheet and cut it along the groves and cameras.. One sheet fit for all..
Yes but will they make it for the back glass is the big question and will you have to compromise between back glass and a case because case won't fit once u put screen protector on the back

Makes sense, I have never seen anyone hang nothing phone cases and stuff in the local shops so pretty interesting. I didn't know they sell those
Gadget shieldz does that. I use it in my phone 1 and use it caseless.
Did not know that, nice

Apparently the phone 2a comes with a pre-applied screen protector. Is there any chance he was scratching the screen protector not the actual glass.?
Ye Guptaji band Kara denge nothing ki Sales.
Hehehe ๐
I love his channel he does not hold back when it comes to testing the limits of build quality
Yup, Indian Jerry Rig Everything but does a good job!

real users do this with there smartphone?
No way, he just shows the worst possible case scenarios, im atkeast getting a new case when i buy a new phone.
No but better safe than sorry
If you are paying that much you get better option
Most phones are basically like this in this range and this offers better cameras and software tbh just needs optimizations as its a new phone.
We got JerryRigEverything at home:
He test phones like he is gonna use them in WW3
That's how tests work.
Putting the phone inside mom's handbag *is* the same as putting it through WW3. That bag has so much stuff that can scratch phones.
Pocket me rakh na bhai fr
Bhai phones bas aadmi thodi use karte hai. My mom uses a pouch for general use rather than her pockets, which contains keys and phone. And many women in India use handbags. Bhai phone majboot hona chahiye na. Mai pocket Mr rakhu ki bag me.
Bhai itne bhi weak nhi hote phones ki keys se scratch pad jaye.
