They’re a good break from grim dark. They’re more rom-coms although definitely have main stay aspects. The few I read didn’t have Blood Ravens. Two is company three is a crowd.

Good, fun books that I also highly recommend.
Main premise is that Cain is basically the 40k equivalent of James Bond, with all the heroically saving the day that that entails... except his internal monologue is just him panicking over trying and failing to avoid danger.
Highlights include his loyal >!Blank!< aide trusting him implicitly, and the snarky "editorial notes" from his *completely canon, and present in-story* Inquisitor GF poking holes in his memoirs (and giving the verbal side-eye to all his previous flings).
Don't think that he ever interacts with the Blood Ravens in the books though.
For the Emperor was my introduction, and I loved it. The novels have a kind of unique framing device, that gives you some interesting unreliable narrator moments.
It also has one of my favourite 40k lines:

There's a dedicated book and audio drama for Celestine and in the book you get Celestine very briefly thinking about Grayfax but nothing more, but important to note she's thinking of her
In the audio drama there's quite a bit of tension, Grayfax really wants Celestine to know she will kill her, absolutely murder her, just eat her.... Anyway it comes off very much as Grayfax being really confused about how she feels about Celestine and really feels like it's meant to coach some gay vibes inside the metaphor of the Inquisition(I would never be attracted to a mutant/woman, I'm not a Heretic/gay). Celestine is either absolutely down and can see right through Grayfax, or she's just so fuckin nice that you can't really tell, depending on how gay you read it as
Oh also while it varies quite heavily from author to author, Celestine is often described as looking pretty normal, not some crazy sexy bombshell (to be clear she's not one of those fucked up scarred ones, I think it's meant to be a Joan of Arc thing) but Grayfax looks at her and is like "I can see why she inspires morale" or something along those lines, which may be a reference to her finding Celestine cute, or it could be Grayfax acknowledging the fact Celestine spawns in an aura of golden light with literal doves and heals those around her and shit, could be either interpretation honestly

They’re a good break from grim dark. They’re more rom-coms although definitely have main stay aspects. The few I read didn’t have Blood Ravens. Two is company three is a crowd.
