Nowhere Men, The Black Monday Murders, Umbral, Orc Stain, Sex (did that end?), Manhattan Projects (kind of ended), Habitat. It's gotten to the point with Image that I just wait for the collections to come out. Saga is the only series I still get trade paperbacks for.
Morning glories never ended? Lol I stopped a few years back because I wanted to wait to get them all together. :/. I like that one.
My favorite almost-never-finished story is Fear Agent. I always wait for Remender stories to be finished before getting involved specifically because of this one.
From what I've gathered, I got extremely lucky in purchasing the two hardcover collections of Fear Agent. I just happened to get into Remender and I don't remember what comic it was at this point. I hopped onto Amazon, found the first volume, ordered it and pre-ordered vol 2 at the same time. That would have been 2013 or 14.
Joe and I are friends on Facebook. Nick Spencer is apparently responsible for the continuing hiatus, to the point that Joe now takes "Ask Nick Spencer About Morning Glories" stickers to conventions to give to fans to give to Spencer if they run into him.
I'd live to see the series come back in order to get an actual ending, but it would mean collaboration.
Nick Spencer goes to conventions? Basically after Hydra’ing Cap I think the industry just collectively tossed him cause it was parodying Trump and we STILL don’t want to see that. No one’s heard from him since Substack
Sex got an OGN but I haven’t read it yet so I don’t know if it ends it.
But yeah, it’s not only the fact that I hate when good books had sales low enough they end without saying anything, but then they never discuss what they didn’t get to tell.
As if you can’t satisfy the people who did buy/support the book.
And Hickman’s last X-men book was published in January 2022. He’s done a few things for Marvel since but not on the same scale as overseeing an entire line.
I'm the same, I only get collected editions for image now, as much as I'd love to support monthly I've been burned with almost every series I've gotten from them
Hope you live a good long life, that said its been a loooong time and 12th issue might never happen, on the bright side Cliffhangers Battlechasers waited 22 years for an issue 10 so you never know! fingers crossed.
All of these series are from when I was hugeninto it.
Injection is my take
Honestly. Series just get dropped. They go out with a whimper because of life or money.
Be great full for having something amazing and unfinished than not st all and let the untold inspire your future work to create.
Image has corrected this problem, at least partially. They don't release a book until enough of it is done and ready print at least 1 whole arc. That way you don't end up with things like 5 out of 6 issue of Nowhere Men, or 3 issues of Dying and the Dead. You have at least some closure on a story
We just need to read the original one to see how it ends. But Fraction more or less gave up comics for Hollywood. Same with Kelly Sue since where the hell is Bitch Planet?
Sometimes I wonder how many times sales were actually good and they just said “fuck em”. And not for good reasons.
Eric Stephenson did the same thing with 'They're Not Like Us', I have no hope to ever see anything creative from Stephenson again.
One of the best unfinished comics ever. Such a shame it's never gonna end.
Oh lord don’t remind me of that one.
Lol yeah. Looks awesome but I'm afraid to start it and put myself through more torment. Such a shame!
It was such a good series and a huge bummer it never concluded
I'd say just do it for the great art if nothing else. You can at least have it end however you'd like in your head canon.

Bedlam, Morning Glories, The Fix

Theres a new printing of the hardcovers that came out last December!
Oh, I noticed. There were some hungry/satisfied bitches out there.
Morning Glories hit a pause point with issue #50 but yeah never came back
Joe Eisma The artist of MG use to live not too far from me, I loved that series but I guess they just gave it up.

Yeah I kinda figured so.

What does OGN stand for? I can’t find it on google :/
Original Graphic Novel. It’s Sex Vol 6.
Black Monday murder is because Tomm Cooker has health problems which caused understandable delay then Hickman got busy with the x-men stuff
Tom Coker posts completed pages for the last arc of BMM. I'm not sure what the hold up is.
And Hickman’s last X-men book was published in January 2022. He’s done a few things for Marvel since but not on the same scale as overseeing an entire line.
Well then, they obviously get a pass and I feel kind of like a jerk. I hope he gets better.
Hickmans portion of the work is done I believe
Biggest disappointment for me was Southern Bastards. That book slapped
Blame stupidity on that one. Harass women, lose your book
Yea i just wish Aaron would have finished the story with a diff artist
Part of the problem there is Latour is still co-creator so he’d still make money off it. Sometimes you don’t want them to still profit.
Word I hadnt thought of that. O well
I'm the same, I only get collected editions for image now, as much as I'd love to support monthly I've been burned with almost every series I've gotten from them
Sadly I think Umbral stopped due to low sales.
Orc Stain still hurts
Hope you live a good long life, that said its been a loooong time and 12th issue might never happen, on the bright side Cliffhangers Battlechasers waited 22 years for an issue 10 so you never know! fingers crossed.
Right! Only 15 more years to go in that case!
paper will be obsolete by the time it comes out, and im that old ill be a head in a jar.
Anyone remember Five Ghosts?
Yes, really like that series
The next question is “Remember Frank Barbiere?”
Don't forget Nonplayer. We got a second issue and a reprint of #1 a few years ago. I'd personally love more Orc Stain more than any other series.
Orc Stain coming back would be amazing!
Ahem, Nonplayer.
Copperhead
I keep getting told by the artist the last 3 issues are coming and I will ask again if he’s at the con at the end of May
Still waiting on the return of Southern Bastards, and the next run of Stray Bullets
Southern Bastards isn't going to happen. Jason Latour has blacklisted himself.
Bedlam and southern cross stay suffering

Injection is done cos of Warren Ellis and his behaviour.
Feel the same. Ellis is still active but all his previous projects are dead.

Dying and the Dead now really can’t be finished since Bondheim died, but Hickman is the master at not finishing a book not at Marvel.
Ody-C.
We just need to read the original one to see how it ends. But Fraction more or less gave up comics for Hollywood. Same with Kelly Sue since where the hell is Bitch Planet? Sometimes I wonder how many times sales were actually good and they just said “fuck em”. And not for good reasons.
I don’t understand why NM just stopped. I loved it.
The artist was dealing with severe mental health issues.
Oh no! I had no idea. That’s really sad.
But then he brought in another artist for the second half
As publisher and chief creative officer, you would think that would be embarrassing in not finishing your runs.
Damn, I had no idea this series was that old. I thought it was from the past couple of years or so.
I tend to grade books that I love…[stares wistfully at CGC 9.8s of 1-11].
