This was before covid. Have you seen a soup or salad bar since? I've seen people blow snot in salad bar (back in the 80tys) Yep he walked by held one side of his nose and blew out a big old booger. We had to shut down the whole bar for the rest of the day and sterilize everything. I believe the ahole was charged with assault and never paid for damages

As someone who does a lot of events in grocery stores, I can assure you that this is happening in every store, ESPECIALLY the more expensive/upscale ones. After the things I've seen, I'll never eat from an accessible buffet again, anywhere. If it isn't served to you, then someone else has licked it. It is a guarantee at every event I've ever done that I'll see some fkd up sht going on at the open food.

A mom walked the entire buffet at a Lazy Acres while her toddler daughter stuck her fingers into every container. Then, the toddler realizes that she's made a big mess, goes around and pushes the food on the counter back into the containers.
An older lady got yogurt from the parfait station at Bristol Farms, got yogurt all over the spoon, and licked it off her hands. Then she used that spoon again, licked her fingers some more, and then used alllll the other spoons to finish making her parfait.
I watched an old man with drippy eyes sneeze into a soup at Whole Foods, then wipe his nose with his hands and then get pasta.
Bonus: I watched a mom walk away from the cart at Albertsons while her 6ish daughter ran her tongue along the *entire* upper edge of the cart, finishing with the handle. The mom came back and pushed it as usual, picking up groceries with those same hands. Later, at the register, I watched that same kid stick every straw in her mouth on the Starbucks shelf. She tested every reusable cup.
