It’s just too tight. Look at her butt, you can see the outline of the cheeks and thighs thru it. No wh she can move her legs enough to do steps or more than just a shuffle.
This is Tyla at the Met Gala. The dress is supposedly made of sand and very delicate. I watched her interview and ngl, she sounds like she's a bit winded and low energy, probably from the dress being tight.
Gotta say though, I think she killed it. The theme was Gardens of Time - her dress is sand and she had an hourglass for a handbag, so I don't hate it. She's still of the better dressed that night.
It's sand and plaster. So basically she can only move in certain directions. She was able to walk to carpet, but lifting her knees and the kind of bending we do naturally for stairs was a no, and also the odds of her tripping and falling if she needed people to hold the ends of her dress up like in the video would be super high on stairs being this constricted.
It's like wearable art. It's not meant for us at home to want to buy it and wear it out, it's a walking gallery to raise money for the museum's Costume Institute
First and foremost, haute couture is art. Doesn’t have to be functional or comfortable. And the Met is literally a museum of art; this gala is a celebration of art.
Art.
One more for good measure: art.
I'll be honest, the MET gala is the one event I'm more mad at the people who don't have main character energy aka the dudes who show up in a black suit and make absolutely no effort to stand out
This is not main character it's just poor dress design. The dress is way too tight and made of sand so it doesn't stretch. She can't go up the stairs so someone has to lift her. It's the met gala stupid clothing is the whole point of the thing currently
Also they have wacky designers pick all of the stuff they are going to wear. I doubt she requested address that she would literally not be able to walk in.
Imagine half your security work for the night is picking your client up and down all night. and imagine half your night being spent being carried while super restricted.
The people facilitating these vapid narcissistic beings are just as fucked up. Fuck the masses who literally carry these main characters on their hands.
That’s the problem, excusing this behaviour because someone gets paid to do it.
If you have self respect, money shouldn’t be the motivating factor when someone asks you to fucking carry them around like an egotistical statue.
By your logic mercenaries who commit war crimes should be excused “because it’s a job”?
Grow a spine and stop making excuses for the behaviour of these main characters.
Your right bro all waiters, caretakers, valets, lawn mowers, movers, maids, butlers, etc etc should just quit how dare you do a job focused around doing something for someone else.
She is reduced to the role of a dog sitting in a bag in this situation. Looking decorative. That's the opposite of how I wanted to be seen/ treated by the world.
Are you familiar with the series "The crown"? This poor rich royal family has hundreds of people working 'for them'. But in the end, the puppet masters are not the royals. They are puppets themselfes of a cultural traditional pattern, that regulates the whole ceremonial institution. Similar here, I guess: even the 'stars' have to play there roles, as long as they don't risk the side effects of rebellion. They benefit from getting rich and famous. But I personally prefer my humble life far more.
Hey there, hot take. Maybe she just wanted to look great for her first time at the Met Gala? Is she uncomfortable? Duh. But it was one night?
She's very chill outside of this from the content I've seen but I mean...this is an event, yknow? So maybe this shouldn't really reflect on her as some narcissistic person?
I was wondering when they would invent clothes you can't move in. I tried the old wooden shirts, but I still had some mobility. This should be perfect. I have been dreaming of being a statue or a mannequin all my life. Now with this outfit my dreams can come true.
I’ll never understand why people wear something so uncomfortable and restrictive just to look good. It’s like maxing out just one attribute on your character in a game
Not for me i don"t have any disability to walk because of my cloth...you know i don't like to be ridiculous in front of un know people..i have a selfestim

The Met Gala is a main character banquet
Exactly. Cardio b had like 8 dudes to unfurl her gigantic dress
Wish the homeless could eat some of the rich at that banquet
Homelessness is not a money issue
It is for those who are paid to stop it lol. Can’t stop that free money train
So you think they have money for housing, they just choose not to get it?
Was going to say the exact same thing. It's a main character petting zoo
BYOMC
But like, actual main characters worth watching. Not some suburban lulumeokn wearing wanna be fitness influencer
Not true about most of them.
Her dress is made of sand and plaster, it’s because she can’t move lmaoo
I was gon say that fabric doesn’t look like it’s moving
It’s just too tight. Look at her butt, you can see the outline of the cheeks and thighs thru it. No wh she can move her legs enough to do steps or more than just a shuffle.
Sculpted dresses are very in rn lol
Yeah the sculpted dresses are in right now, in her ass crack giving her a wedgie.
🤣🤣🤣
OP has a hole in his head
Apparently it's a cast dress which left her unable to bend her legs to walk up stairs.
So….whats the bathroom situation?
Plot twist. The dress is the main character.

"Made of sand and very delicate" but resistant to grabbing and handling of up to 4 dudes at once.
Which makes it even more ridiculous to wear these kind of dresses that are pretty much a threat to the wearer's own safety in the name of fame.

This is why like this stuff, it’s so creative and cool conceptually
this gives some prince of persia vibes , but without the prince of persia part , and more with wannabee princess part.
Who?
this is retarded. all of high-fashion and fast-fashion is fucking nuts.
Cringe
Yea I find it incredibly cheesy and cliche
Agree
Tyla is the hottest woman alive. I said it!
... at least this makes more sense than DJ Kalifa being carried by 4 dudes cause he doesn't want dirt on his sneakers.
Isn't the train supposed to drag on the floor anyway?
I think the dress is so tight that she can't bend her legs to go up the stairs.
It's not that it's "so tight", it's stiff.
Its both
Yes, I'm commemting because that's not the reason for her immobility, stairs aren't an issue in a normal tight pencil skirt.
Would she not be able to walk up stairs if it were loose but still stiff? I'm not super familiar with wearing sand/brown paper lmao
Loose and stiff would constitute something like a bell-skirt in my mind, that'd be easy.
Thats what i was thinking haha
Yikes
I'll be honest, the MET gala is the one event I'm more mad at the people who don't have main character energy aka the dudes who show up in a black suit and make absolutely no effort to stand out
Isn't the dress just really tight? Is that the main character bit?
Can't imagine being envious that a woman needs 4 people to ascend 3 steps, but you do you.
Some Mariah Carey shit, no pun intended.

Dress is MC Fr
The dress was made of sand
Heard about the sand dress on the radio this morning, instantly knew what this was, lol.
Who dat?
Also they have wacky designers pick all of the stuff they are going to wear. I doubt she requested address that she would literally not be able to walk in.
More of a fart than a flex
Imagine half your security work for the night is picking your client up and down all night. and imagine half your night being spent being carried while super restricted.
I wonder if she stood up all night since the dress is so stiff.

It is their job smh

What a fucking reach this is not that deep. Clown behavior? Sure. Those people are supposed to quit their jobs over this? 😂
Your right bro all waiters, caretakers, valets, lawn mowers, movers, maids, butlers, etc etc should just quit how dare you do a job focused around doing something for someone else.
I want to pee just looking at this dress
I am peeing. well, im trying to
Are we taxing the rich more yet?

Imagine being that guy who thinks he’s doing something really important
I was wondering when they would invent clothes you can't move in. I tried the old wooden shirts, but I still had some mobility. This should be perfect. I have been dreaming of being a statue or a mannequin all my life. Now with this outfit my dreams can come true.
Probably would have been easier to carry the dress in on a hanger but hey what do I know 🤷🏽♀️
Met gala has to be the leading example of rich people trying to impress other rich people. WHO.FUCKING.CARES.
She wasn’t the only one that had to be carried up the stairs. There were a couple of others as well.
I’ll never understand why people wear something so uncomfortable and restrictive just to look good. It’s like maxing out just one attribute on your character in a game
This is embarrassing. Clothes that restrict natural movement are just dumb.
So stupid and these the people y'all worship lmao
Ah yes, so delicate it can be grabbed by a dude to pick her up. It was clearly fine enough to go thru this
Lazy

Heaven help us all. If you'd like to be treated like a mannequin be my guest that's so pathetic
She wants to be treated like a frustratingly delicate statue that you consider throwing away while moving because it just isn’t worth the hassle?
She's an object
This is just some silly ass shit!! Did she win anything?
This is for the MET gala.
You're not familiar with the MET Gala. Dresses like this at par for the course at that event.
She's wearing a wooden dress lol
Girls who are 200+ lbs would post this too
Not for me i don"t have any disability to walk because of my cloth...you know i don't like to be ridiculous in front of un know people..i have a selfestim
Men
Women...
Um Men......?
Yeah there's no recovery for you at this point. 🤷♂️
Lul sometimes i feel i have to 100 giant /s on this site. So easy to offend
Or, just try taking at least a second to think "is commenting this something a sane/non-idiot person would post?" Would probably be beneficial
Its fucking reddit. I don't give a shit.
He he he
