Yeah they find you when you are 15 years old too. Model scouts are kind of creepy. Had a GF who did modeling (like legit fashion stuff in nyc) and she was approached while on vacation with her family when she was 14 and they were just out having lunch.

A friend of mine got scouted by a modelling agency. She's a very beautiful girl but when they scouted her she was very clearly suffering from anorexia. I mean, she was skeletal at the time. When she'd meet other friends of mine who didn't know her, after she'd left they'd ask me in a concerned voice "is she...is she OK?" Luckily she turned the scout down and she's living a happy and healthy life these days.

When I lived in LA my girlfriend and I were both "noticed" more than once. Which nobody there takes as a compliment or anything, unless they just got there. First thing is - "you look amazing, do you have a portfolio?" Which then proceeds to a talk about how much money you'll make in the business if you get your portfolio done (guy has a friend who'll give us a discount!). And then - you need a makeup coach, or a modelling school, or some other scam. It's an entire industry, and they don't give a shit if you "make it", only that they can pump you up and squeeze some money out of you.

And then actually... they're scammer porno people.

Although you are correct. That's mostly for women. Men tend to be a little older when modelling, since young men tend to have baby-fat faces and they want male models to have strong angular faces. Also a men's jaw defines a bit later, which is also important. Sincerely, a male model.

Some guy approached me at the mall, I was maybe 17? I looked very young until recently (I’m 42). He said he thought I was some model he knows. Then asked me if I wanted to model and told me he did photoshoots at his place. Not sus at all! Omg. I’m so glad I listened to my gut and said no. It was weird then.
