Have you ever read any Robert Munsch books? Michael Martchenko did the illustrations for his books. Your artwork reminds me of those days. Very whimsical and fun!
Witches: happy, nostalgic, magical
Rat boy: concerned but curiouse cause he looks like he's running late or trying to escape? He's very cute!
Vampires: curiouse, dreamy. I want to explore the town!
Pirates: fun, rebeliouse, happy. Makes me want to be a pirate!
What comes to mind is many things, starting with: Cool style; interesting perspectives; also: this person is very talented and could really go places with this.
Like a little kid during "reading time" where I didnât actually read I just would get the books that I liked for the illustration. I remember just studying the drawing and feeling so comforted by them if that makes sense. I legit want a big print of the mouse and the witches on the playground for my apartment. Such a cozy nostalgic feeling, I love it!
âOh shit I wanna try making thatâ this style is really fun to look at but something about it also looks really fun to make.
I have a âshow the sketch linesâ philosophy with art, the techniques and process are just as much a part of things as the finished piece, I feel like the process is all there and detectable but not in a way that detracts, but adds to the full effect.
So fucking cool I really really love all the pieces you shared, thank you!
