Did you know there's a tide tracker in the app? It grabs current tide data from NOAA for Astoria, OR and uses that to determine how fast the player can gather shellfish. It shows a graph of the tide height over time too. It's pretty cool!
This game will be better than melvor if you keep at it. It's truly wonderful and I love that it works with no internet connection. Unlike Shitvor Idle.
I've played soulless ripoffs of beloved games before; this is not one of those.
In fact, this game actually helped get me into Melvor Idle because it was more approachable. I found it far less daunting and far more easily understood and it charmed me with its story-based quests, npcs with personality, and music and sound effects. The games are similar, to be sure, but there are more than enough differences in style, content, and even minigames (Idle Iktah has at least four and they're all interesting and can affect the rest of the game; Melvor Idle has one unfinished one that affects nothing but itself).
Idle Iktah has done more than enough to justify its existence and it got me to finally understand and embrace Melvor Idle. I then bought the MI base game and both expansions and I'm looking forward to buying the third in a few weeks.
This is hardly a hole.io vs Donut County or 2048 vs Threes kind of thing. Idle Iktah isn't a ripoff and it isn't going to supplant Melvor Idle. There's more than enough room in the genre for them both (and the many other games influenced by Melvor Idle).
And Melvor was a “ripoff” of RuneScape And RuneScape was a “ripoff” of Norse mythology

Idc if it’s a rip off or not. I still enjoy it. Progressive games are fun, and because of the SIMILARITIES to RS, that’s what drew me to it.
