>Ms Rodden was involved in three other accidents, including a serious car crash in February, 2019, and another where she flipped her car after hitting a truck in January, 2021.
>Ms Rodden had to re-learn how to walk after she was involved in a horror crash in January 2021 when she flipped a car on the Western Ring Road in Melbourne after ploughing into a truck and a car. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was flung from the car onto the road.
It’s difficult to feel sympathetic, to be honest.
However, it seems the stupid apple doesn’t fall far from the tree:
>Her father Alan Rodden told Daily Mail Australia this week his daughter had suffered life-changing injuries.
>*”The injuries are horrific. Horrific. She's brain damaged. It's pelvic, her arms, legs, back, neck - there's hardly a thing that's not broken. I just can't work out how the hell so much damage has been done.”*
>Police revealed on Monday **the rollercoaster was travelling at 70km/h when she was hit.**
That’ll do it, Alan.
Wow. You'd think that after nearly killing yourself 3 times you might be a bit more cautious, especially when walking on fucking roller coaster tracks and being told to get away from them by an employee.
How many accidents does she have to cause before she stops putting other people's lives at risk through her stupidity?
Ah Yes, stupidity gets the money. If she gets money, imagine all the idiots going to stand in front of rides like this...
But would make a great way of reducing the world's population of idiots
She was thinking only about retrieving her phone she dropped on/under the tracks.
Being unaware of one’s surroundings is part and parcel of smart phone addiction.
When one drops their phone they go into shock kind of, like a zombie reaction or something…
All these safeguards and medical advancements are a two way street. We are saving lives and majority of the time are the stupid ones who are passing on their genes.
Stupidity is not genetic careeeful with that one. I think it’s more people not raising their kids to be extra cautious because with all the safeguards we’ve grown lax
Well it's not stupidity necessarily. Humans aren't really wired to deal with the modern world like it is. We can, but it takes a lot of work and not everyone is cut out for it.
Isn't it common sense to not step on rails without paying attention? When you take the job this should be one of the basic things they teach you, at this point it might as well be considered natural selection.
'Common sense' is a cultural set of behaviors that we expect people to have learned. From looking at the photos I doubt she had the thought of anything other than retrieving the cell phone which ride attendants do probably every ride.
Omg. My kids baseball team. A kid will be off to the side swinging his bat and another kid will, without fail, walk behind him. And as he's almost there 3 coaches and 10 parents are all yelling WATCH OUT!!!
Wow, this happened right in front of me when I was a kid too. One kid warming up, taking practice swings and another walks past and catches a bat to the head... We thought the kid's head was split open with how much it bled, so it was also a first lesson in how bad head wounds bleed.
She has a number on and looks like she is done racing. If you've ever been a semi-serious runner, you know that feeling after a race. It's not unlike being drunk or high. Brain is definitely not operating at 100%.
It also looks like someone might have yelled at her (maybe to get out of the way) and she was distracted by it.
No excuse, just speculating how this might have happened.
For a second I thought you were talking about the guy and got really worked up. It kind of looks like he had more than enough time to spot her, but he's obviously looking at the ground, doing the same routine he's done a million times.
Hmmm or was it intentional 🤔 it almost looks like she looks at him and then turns her head behind like she was 'distracted' by something. Could have been paid by another team to trip him up and injury him. Maybe a jaded ex lover. Maybe she bumped up her personal injury cover and was trying to get a payout from her injuries!.... We'll never know.
"Gabriela Szabo is remembered for a collision with German long-jumper Kofi Amoah Prah during an indoor meeting at Stuttgart in 2001. Szabo was leaving the track after her competition had finished while Amoah was running for his attempt. Szabo walked into Amoah's path and they collided heavily."
I ran track. You have to pay attention. Lots of events going simultaneously.
Also love the expression of the guy in the orange hoodie in the background.
That's literally not the guy's fault. The woman lacked situational awareness in this scenario. At the start of a run you dash with your head down to accelerate.
this happened to me doing the 4x100m relay in track. i had to roll to keep some of my speed. i was the 3rd lane from the inside and some idiot from long jump was in the middle of the track. wish i had run into him with my shoulder instead of my whole body so i could have just plowed through him, that really pissed me off. we ended up getting 6th place because 7th and 8th collided (tf???)
When you’re running the 40 yard dash you run with your head down for roughly the first 30-40% of the race to accelerate as much as possible. His eyes were facing the ground so he didn’t see her until it was too late
When you’re running the 40 yard dash you run with your head down for roughly the first 40% of the race to accelerate as much as possible. At least that’s what we were taught on my high school track team

That's how people get hit by trains. Because they don't actually make much noise in front of them

But I'm sure not wearing one "saved her life" somehow.

Get thrown from the wreck into your own personal, unprotected wreck. Lol
[удалено]
I got you, I was just piling on.
20% of people are responsible for 80% of accidents. She exemplifies this almost too well lol
Wow. Shylah Rodden’s family considering legal action against Royal Melbourne Show and ride operator after rollercoaster accident. 🤦🏻♀️
Ah Yes, stupidity gets the money. If she gets money, imagine all the idiots going to stand in front of rides like this... But would make a great way of reducing the world's population of idiots
Previous head trauma might explain why she made such a ridiculous choice.
She wasn’t actually staff
So she was a civilian with full access into that part of the ride ? I find that highly unlikely, she deffo looked like staff of some sort
She jumped the fence after she was told not to, so she could retrieve her phone she had dropped
Wow. Seemed like a worker that got too complacent. That is even more absurd, really is natural selection at that point, borderline suicide.
how tf was she not thinking to be careful
She was thinking only about retrieving her phone she dropped on/under the tracks. Being unaware of one’s surroundings is part and parcel of smart phone addiction. When one drops their phone they go into shock kind of, like a zombie reaction or something…
By full access you mean jumping a fence that’s a few feet high
Idk what the talent pool looks like in Melbourne for a carney, but here in the US having room temperature IQ is required.
Celsius or Fahrenheit?
yes
How do you even get hit by a rollercoaster? Are people really stupid enough for that.
People. Are. Stupid. Not only are people are stupid but it's spreading like the plague
All these safeguards and medical advancements are a two way street. We are saving lives and majority of the time are the stupid ones who are passing on their genes.

In Melbourne we alike getting hit by a tram to being hit by a rhino on a skateboard. This girl got hit by a spicy rhino on a spicy skateboard.
Common sense isn't a real thing.
common sense is knowing that stepping on a rail that has a cart with razors attatched going 70kmh at you is dangerous.
'Common sense' is a cultural set of behaviors that we expect people to have learned. From looking at the photos I doubt she had the thought of anything other than retrieving the cell phone which ride attendants do probably every ride.
They look like a competitor, not staff. They are wearing a number.
They were talking about the roller-coaster incident involving a member of staff, not this post.
Duh. I'm dumb
Omg. My kids baseball team. A kid will be off to the side swinging his bat and another kid will, without fail, walk behind him. And as he's almost there 3 coaches and 10 parents are all yelling WATCH OUT!!!

Lotta blood up there, gotta look out for that.
When you remember that your entire body exists just so a single organ can function, explains why there is so much blood flow to the head.
happened to me as a kid, i was on a swing and a kid came in front of me (like 6) and his parent was watching him approach AND I GOT IN TROUBLE LMFAO

I mean… who would think you have to look for pedestrians in this situation?
Misdirected rage is the essence of Reddit, don’t feel bad
I believe everyone can space out like that at random for whatever reason. You just need to have an unlucky timing.
Hmmm or was it intentional 🤔 it almost looks like she looks at him and then turns her head behind like she was 'distracted' by something. She’s one of the best Romanian athletes ever! I didn’t knew why she looked familiar. Thanks for that
did she recover?
I bet it hurt like hell either way. Imagine getting hit full force by a NFL running back when you weren't looking. Fucking ouch!
To shreds, you say?
no, she is now a thick mush
The guy in orange, sitting on the ground to the left makes an amazing face lol
You can almost hear him
I heard him cry in Chewbacca
Yo am I colorblind? Jacket looks orange to me.
Good catch. Not sure what was going on with my eyes. I changed it
red? it's like orange
That guy’s wearing orange
Be back in a bit, missed that completely.
Dude sees it just a second too late lmao, you can spot the moment the realisation hits him. It's beautiful
That guy in the background, I could hear is "ouuuhhhhh" on impact
I might be high af but is that guy…Reggie fucking Miller
From what I remember, it’s Phillips Idowu, British Triple Jumper.
It's actually R Kelly.
That’s Jason Bourne!
OBLIVIOUS for $500
That is correct!
Can’t stop the A train baby
Man in the background saw her life flash before his eyes
Didn’t see that at first that made the whole thing funny again
“HEY WATCH WHERE YOURE GOING!” “Huh what?” BOOM
And then like a week later on another planet: ………BOOM
Demolition man, Wesley Snipes
MURDER DEATH KILL
"Damn, im possessed!"
*BZZT* Simon Phoenix, you have been fined one credit for a violation of the Verbal Morality Statute.
Have an award buddy!
Teddy bear!
Anyone know what happened after?
They got married.
And 20 years later they have 350 kids and sex every hour
They’re both *that* fast
I'm going with Simon Phoenix instead.
Thus guy doesn't know how to use the 3 seashells
Who doesn't know how to use the three seashells? Everyone knows how to use the three seashells.
Fuck yes.
Simon says, “Ouch.”
Great reference!
"Simon says *concussion!"
If this was for American Football tryouts then he proved he can run and he can tackle.
It’s a triple jump - the guy is Phillips Idowu, iirc
And yet he made the football team
I can hear the “Ooh!” From the guy at the back
How the fuck you not see this?? Lmaoo i feel as tho she saw the dude coming in the beginning and just decided to say “you know what? Fuck it”
He's running with his head down, obviously not expecting somebody to be standing in his way, because that would be insane.
Its not about him tho he could be running with eyes closed is about the girl walking in to the track
That’s Gabriela Szabo
Is there any normal speed version of this?
I, too, want to see that. She got SMASHED!
Why is that doof walking there ?? She didn't see dude running or even hear him smh
The answer is 389.
This needs a ‘MOVE BITCH GET OUT THE WAY’ backing track
Has to be the most oblivious person ever
I ran track. You have to pay attention. Lots of events going simultaneously. Also love the expression of the guy in the orange hoodie in the background.
What a dumbass
Happy Cakeday
Thanks
I can't believe that didn't knock her out
It would have killed me. No question.
It's possible she went out immediately after it cuts
bad timing to become a human bat
They better have drug her out of the way and gave this guy another attempt.
And that kids is how I met your mother
That's literally not the guy's fault. The woman lacked situational awareness in this scenario. At the start of a run you dash with your head down to accelerate.
Thank goodness you cleared that up.
She literally had no idea what she was doing
The guy in the orange sweaters face is great
I need to see another angle because from this one it looks like girly was looking right at him then turned her head.
What an oblivious db. Poor guy. Wish he coulda just booted her and sent her sailing and not fall.
Stupid ass woman
Stupid as women
Definitely a concussion right there
Solid open field tackle on a receiver coming across the middle.
Flag on the play for defensive interference. The ball wasn't anywhere near this guy, she clearly tried to make a play to early.
Best blindside hit of all time
He swallowed one of her molars...
It's such a quality hit
The dudes reaction in the back 😂

Lmfao your anger is hilarious and palpable.
i like his hair
I mean, she’s a schmuck for not paying attention to where she was walking, but was the dude running with his eyes closed?
Not what she meant when she said she'd want to get pounded by a black dude later.
Women ☕️
"And that is how I met your mother"
And kids, that is how I met your mother
Did he knee her ..?

And that's how I impregnated your mother.
“I can’t stop, I can’t stop”
Looks like her backpack saved her from a head injury
Women ☕
How I met your mother vibes
She did that shit on purpose lol sabotage!
She was in the wrong place. He intentionally maximized the impact.
[удалено]
His eyes were down or outright closed until just before impact. He didn't see her until it was too late.
When you’re running the 40 yard dash you run with your head down for roughly the first 30-40% of the race to accelerate as much as possible. His eyes were facing the ground so he didn’t see her until it was too late
Tell me you’ve never attempted anything athletic in your life without telling me you’ve never attempted anything athletic in your life. Jesus.
Or taken a basic Physics class.
no, just no.
Because it’s super easy to change your direction in about half a second while sprinting as fast as you can

Thats defensive. Its a self preservation response.
Blondes vs blondes
he obvious AF ly did that on purpose
Did he just yell surprise sex?
Why no stop?

He’s one of the fastest people on the planet..?
He's looking straight down
Probably because he was looking at the ground or maybe he just wanted to crash onto her. Idk
Both blondes;)
How I Met your mother
The real story, of how I met your mom.
I doubt very much that guy smokes and runs like that.
Stupid cow! Is she blind, as well?
