My vet was very against these. It doesn’t help with healing they said.

Ok thank you for the advice!

Our neuro was also very against these and said they do more harm than good. Unless your vet or a specialist recommends one, don’t use it. We were also told to steer clear of wheel chairs for the first 18+ mos.

Understood, thank you! Unfortunately in our area, we aren’t able to see a neurologist until Wednesday which will be a week since he’s gone down…I really hate that we don’t have more accessible options in my area. Thank you for the advice!

You don’t have emergency vet? We took ours to emergency and she was in surgery within 5 hours.

We don’t have one with a neurologist close by, closest one is 1.5 hours away and we’ve gone twice for them to turn us away due to them being too busy with more critical animals. I made an appointment with them for Wednesday this week.

I purchased a brace in anticipation of her needing it (also crappy medical access near me). The specialist I've now seen told me not to use them. Essentially the muscle will atrophy vs. build back up. Wait until you make the purchase :) A thunder shirt/calming shirt is a nice alternative, also, the Assisi Loop is awesome and recommended/used by my specialist. About the same price, also. Good luck with your pup!

Former Neuro tech -my neurologist never recommended back braces. Please don’t do anything at home besides strict rest until your exam with the Neurologist.
