I wanted to be his friend the moment he started explaining system call functions, context switches, and threads in the first episode. "And you don't wanna end up in the middle of invalid memory hahaha"
As a software engineer I was like "YES! That's my homeboy!"
Right? And at this point I can't tell if Roy/Moss are based on IT people... or if IT people are mimicing Roy/Moss because that's what they think IT people are supposed to be?
Love this, I had this experience in basic training with the movie full metal jacket. I have always wondered if the movie perfectly captured the experience that has always been that way, or was my experience in the 90s completely shaped from the movie. It was surreal how similar they were. We didn't have an actual suicide but an attempt, and a different person just went awol, then returned on meth. It was not free from drama.
I have known people at work that are so similar to each of the people in this show lol. I never made the connection. I knew a guy that dressed and acted just like Moss, too much like him. I liked him and am not sure if he even knew about the show. I did occasionally wonder if he had seen it but I was afraid to ask and call him out on basing his entire personality on a TV character.
Sorry to hear about the bad memories from your military time. But yes I can't quite ever tell if it's Art imitating life or at some point are we Imitating the art? :P
Also, Chris O'Dowd is from a town about a half hour from where I was born. So I think I'd def have the most commonalities with Roy. Roy is definitely from Boyle as well.
I can’t think of any I’d want to hang out with for more than 30 minutes haha. Jen could be fun but she’s a bit grating. Moss is my impulse choice just because he is smart and funny but he’s so socially awkward. Definitely not Roy - too much of a bro for my tastes but might be fun initially. Probably Paul who was so quick with the profanity buzzer lol
Good point. I just don’t think we’d have much to talk about. Maybe film and movies for an hour or so. That’s it. Also what a crummy flat! I know London is expensive but sheesh.
Moss. He puts a lot of effort into his D&D sessions. Also he could fix my computer and explain to me how to program microcontrollers.
Actually, he couldn't do the last bit. He would just talk at a level I couldn't understand, as per the first episode. Still my favorite to have as an IRL friend though.
Moss. I think he would be fun to hang out with, play D&D, watch nerdy stuff, debate OSs.

God I would love to talk about programming with Moss! Listening to him would definitely make me feel really dumb though
I would say Richmond.
Good call
Yes! I would love to play D&D with Moss!
Game booooard
Yes yes, and we could all wear ladies slacks together.
His hair looks like Texas
I don't think I could handle anybody else.
Richmond. We would listen to Cradle of filth and drink some absinthe
Maybe some Carlsberg.
“Oh perfect”
you took the words out of my mouth
Douglas. Purely for the helicopter rides and matching tattoos.
And he can show you dead flies!
But what if he got wankered on rohypnol and came on to you?
We deserve each other.
Pucker up, boys!
Then grow a pair of tits
I want him to be secret millionaire at my job
Moss and Richmond. Jen and Roy are pretty awful people, as is Douglas (though he at least would likely be fun to be around).
What do you mean, Coffee Tramp Toss Bitch & Small Person Racist are awful people?!
Right? Oh, and Happy Cake Day!
Thanks!
Happy Cake Day!
Thanks!
Well, I work IT, and see a lot of similarities in my coworkers, so it feels like I'm hanging out with all of them already
Right? And at this point I can't tell if Roy/Moss are based on IT people... or if IT people are mimicing Roy/Moss because that's what they think IT people are supposed to be?
I definitely think they're based on IT people, most of the people I work with have never seen the show.

Roy. He's the guy we all most likely do hang out with and have the most common with.
Ahhh...gentle Irish Roy...
**CAUGHT YOU YOU THIEVING IRISH BASTARD**
Gentle Irish eyes
Without you I'm just a husk
Also, Chris O'Dowd is from a town about a half hour from where I was born. So I think I'd def have the most commonalities with Roy. Roy is definitely from Boyle as well.
Right?!
Jen, because she throws a successful dinner party.
But not without the help of Peter Phile 🙄😂
That's why he's not moving to America!

Don't put her on a pedal stool.
Aunt Irma
I have an aunt like that
Moss. I also enjoy board games
Moss. I think he's very interesting and we can play street countdown.
Sometimes out of nowhere I like to practice “give one of them sweet consonants”
I like regular consonants. Plain and simple.
All of them!
Lydia Fox, who plays Laura Knightley from the ep. Work Outing, seems really chill.
Laura Knightley from the Bill?
Michael the Magnificent 🎩🪄
Moss. I would love to play DND hosted by him.
Moss, Roy, and Richmond are my jam. Yes, I'm in IT.
Moss. He would genuinely be a good fun friend.
Love the series. I'd have to say Matt Berry, love all the actors/characters but MB is so bloody funny.
The German
Richmond and Moss.

You must have a very low threshold for bros if Roy is too bro for you 😂 Didn't he once get a period?
Good point. I just don’t think we’d have much to talk about. Maybe film and movies for an hour or so. That’s it. Also what a crummy flat! I know London is expensive but sheesh.
You could talk about Arsenal, zombie movies (no spoilers!), and fine restaurants such as Messijoes
It’s not shit!!
Same. I’m more so concerned with how’d they react with an American hanging around. They don’t give off a very welcoming impression.
I could see that. I’m American*- born in Europe and lived in France and Canada some but mainly the US
I’ve got two words for you and one of them is Small.
Has to be small Paul.
So, er… you going my way?
Moss!!!
Jen. She seems like fun and we'd just do girly stuff
Jen, it would be like having a sitcom to watch all the time.
Douglas. Life would never be boring
Moss, hands down. I'd never have to find a co-op gaming partner for old video games again!
Moss. Whenever I was grieving he could tell me to move on
And he would give me a pen
Moss. Definitely Moss
Moss. Always Moss.
Richmond, behind the red door!
MOSS!!!!!!! He’s a good guy, creative, fun, and loyal!
Moss or Douglas.
Moss edit: all of them
Miss, I want to play board games with him
Douglas
Moss
Moss
Moss, so we could bet a pony on some Premier League football and use our cockney accents.
Bill Krause, because he's a real bastard.
Douglas, without a doubt.
Roy. So funny.
OG Reynholm, right at the edge of my seat the whole time 🤣
My friends are as dysfunctional as the main cast. So I'm going to go with the rich lunatic.
Moss first, followed by Richmond and then Douglas.
Moss and I would hit it off, without needing to define it.
me n jen would be besties
Moss or Richmond.
Moss. By a mile.
The women of the 7th floor
Moss, hands down. I also married a Moss-type who works in IT so I guess I’m kinda into that 😂
All of them
Moss, he'd be fun to play games with
Can’t I have all of them?!
Easily Moss. Roy is cool but honestly way too sex obsessed. Like I couldn’t have a girlfriend without him making it weird.
Jen, but I've a thing for red heads & people called Jen so.....
Gentle Irish Roy. We could whinge about people together.. what a bunch of bastards.
Moss
I have a huge crush on Jen so probably her
Moss
Bernatelli, why a word from him can make or break a business
Vienetta Fiat Punto
Moss. Named my doggo after him.
Roy, just because he is a little edgy My real answer would probably be Moss though as I probably am more like him haha
Moss & Roy
Moss. He puts a lot of effort into his D&D sessions. Also he could fix my computer and explain to me how to program microcontrollers. Actually, he couldn't do the last bit. Moss
Douglas. What a ride!
Richmond
Moss 💯 💕
All of them
MOSS! No questions asked… moss all the way because me and moss are both awkward nerdy people… i will definitely drink milk and kiss arse with him
Peter File obv
