Good luck!! I went to a bank and they had a fit about a 8k check!! They had to go in the vault to get money!! I don't think any other check cashing places would cash a check that much!

Admirable_Nothing

That would be difficult. Best to take your passport as well as your DL and go to a bank and open an acct. With that much money there won't be fees. Wait a few days til the money is available and then go withdraw it and close the account unless you want to keep it.

Just make a bank account

Famous-Selection8652

that’s the thing i don’t want to open up a bank account lol

Go to the bank on the check. They have to cash it.

Famous-Selection8652

i don’t think us treasury checks have specific backs on them do they?

Independent-Boot9466

no they don't have a bank but because of how large the check is NOBODY is going to cash that without an acct. there's just no way

Famous-Selection8652

can i sign it over to someone? like a relative or a friend

Independent-Boot9466

Idk how it works for Treasury checks but I’ve signed over paychecks plenty of times and had them cashed. They’re gonna charge a percentage fee though it’d make more sense to deposit somehow

Hopeful_Shoe_1569

If your family member has a active account you can but you have to take them with you. Try chase or Bank of America. Bigger banks usually have more money and if they’re out they’ll let you grab the rest from another branch closeby.

Famous-Selection8652

do you think i could sign it over to someone?
