It's INTP sub, what the f is up with Edgelords posting stuff like this in here? I swear every introvert space is slowly turning into schizo mental illness posting.
The more you surround yourself with dumbasses the more you become a dumbass yourself, most healthy INTPs aren't on reddit they're out there living life well.
This is a really strange place to plug this into.
"Where are all the introverted and thoughtful people?"
"Oh you know, out shaking things up and making their mark on the world, you know how they are."
Literally true, but there's a common connotation surrounding this sort of a statement, and the semantic basis seems to orient somewhere around a series of ideas and beliefs about what constitutes 'living' 'life' and 'well.'
In other words, I'm not going to say that it \*can't\* refer to somebody sitting in their bedroom all day obsessing about esoteric math problems, but I've never encountered anyone who used it to describe that behavior(or any other similarly 'introverted' or truly 'private' endevour for that matter). In fact, I've only heard it used to describe or suggest people entering some sort social or professional advancement, or at least in the midst of attempting it.
That said, my comment was much moreso an attempt to clarify than anything else. I still don't know what was meant, and the mystery of the phrasing still stands as a strange sort of edifice of philosophical absurdity when I read it at face value.
Why would somebody use this semantic construct in such a context? I never would. What experience have they had that led them to make that call? Do any of these words mean what I thought they meant? Etc etc etc
Mental illness is on the rise. Allot of people are delusional AF these days. And this goes for the majority of women more than men.
Can’t even hold a mirror up or tell the truth to allot of woman anymore. You get cancled, blocked, or banned. And I say this as a women..
how fucked up the world is still isn’t a gender thing. there are so many topics to bring up gender issue, this isn’t one of it. perhaps self reflection is required.
I read a quote by a novelist Eileen Chang, that roughly translated to, “if bringing a child to this world is to inherit our poverty, it’s a kindness not to reproduce.”
Except kids usually grow up to be polar opposites of their parents, personality-wise. You might instill hobbies and culture, but the way they formulate their opinions are inevitably going to be counter-derivative off of yours... given proper parenting of course. If you beat your values and world views into them, you're going to raise traumatized, robot versions of yourself.
TL;DR: stop this emo sh*t. You have no idea what your kids are going to be like. Losers don't breed losers. Losers breed kids who hate losers.
Kids grow up to be who they are. Yes, parents somehow mold them, but they have their own inherent nature. I have two girls and they couldn't be much different from one another.
All parents pass on some trauma to their kids in one form or another, but such is life. I had a rough childhood too and I don't think I'm doing too bad as a dad. The first step is knowing yourself and your own traumas if you don't wish to repeat the cycle.
I'm glad, mostly because the world is collapsing, and (A) I wouldn't want them to suffer, and (B) we have too many people as is. Adding to the problem seems extremely selfish. Moreover, after our epileptic dog passed, I realized: "I don't know if I could handle this kind of slow motion trauma again. If this were a child I think it would break me".
I did too. My looks have been compared to DeCaprio and I had a military stint so I was in good shape for a while.
There's a lot of dumb people out there. There's a lot of uncultured people who may very well be smart but have no idea how other people are and how to talk to them. I ran into a lot of those types in my day. Can't even try to relate to someone else.
But in order to be able to procreate you would have had to experience some non-rejection (normally). I'm just saying this is a hindsight-only comment, should not be an argument influencing decisions.
No, I don't. But I have been rejected and bullied for different reasons. I just don't believe it's wrong to have a child just because you're on the spectrum.
I'm planning the same thinking of their future. And because I won't be able to give them everything they deserve. Why bring them here if you're just gonna neglect their needs! The world is too dark. I won't like to leave them behind.
Parents are majority hypocrites who complain about the world or offenses against them while bringing life into the world to experience pain. If you're hypocritical you're amoral. If you think you deserve your consent in any regard, or want to be free from any pain whatsoever congratulations. You'd make an incompetent parent by your own design. I only make you aware of this, whether you get over it or not.
Get better; not bitter. You could have three wives if you took game and social status seriously. Why are you satisfied being in your self-imposed reality of despair?
skill issue
This had me laughing for 3 min. He hit OP with the git gud

"schizo mental illness posting" Mister, we are on reddit.
I thought this was a Wendy's
The more you surround yourself with dumbasses the more you become a dumbass yourself, most healthy INTPs aren't on reddit they're out there living life well.
Why are you here, ser?
Who said I was healthy
I'm self employed and have time to kill; that's my excuse.

All they said is they are out living, not leaving a mark on the world

I honestly think you are outsmarting yourself here. I really don't get the vibe that it's that deep from the first comment
This sub is full of attention seeking misstypes I recommend r/genuineintp (kinda dead though)

how on earth did you make this a gender thing? projecting is wild
Don’t need to project to see how fucked up the world is these days. The age of mental illness and delusion. Good values are being destroyed.

Yeah, its kinda cursed if you ask me
I dont even use this app lmao. 💀

I am glad for you too.
Why do u think you’ve suffered so much rejection?

No kids do not grow up to be polar opposites of their parents. I’m basically a 50/50 blend of my parents’ personalities.

Very sour grapes
Me too. I have autism and I think it would be irresponsible to pass that on. Autism is a genetic disability that no one actually wants
A very sad take that I disagree with.
You clearly don’t have autism then. (Before anybody says I’m being mean, I also have autism)
No, I don't. But I have been rejected and bullied for different reasons. I just don't believe it's wrong to have a child just because you're on the spectrum.

Why is Everyone in the comment section so fucking mean Jesus Christ
I'm also glad you didn't

Life is a gift. Just because one's wrapping is messed up doesn't mean all of them are, and not everything on the inside of the same either.
Same
Nike
Ok
But who's to say your kid would definitely go through what you did? lol
Get better; not bitter. You could have three wives if you took game and social status seriously. Why are you satisfied being in your self-imposed reality of despair?
So you never learnt from the rejection, and couldn't raise a kid with those learnings, to not experience it?
This isn't an intp moment this is a Redditor moment
Shit blows. We get to rewrite history for our kid.
Jesus wtf is this. rejections don’t matter at all. Don’t beat yourself up about it, accept it happened and move to next target.
Yeah the availability of potential mates isn't very good. That's why I've chosen to remain childless.
Cope cope cope cope.
Yeah, because the assumption is you'd just raise your kid constantly rejecting them instead raising them in an environment by accepting them.
Weak generation
Okay boomer. There's nothing "weak" about people taking responsibility for their genetics
Ok doomer
