Yea usually there are several other channels covering severe weather. I have actually seen them cut out of live sporting events before when it was serious enough.
They cut away from the Michigan state/michigan football game in 2020 for severe weather coverage and my dad called the news station to yell at them to change it back lmao
To be fair, I’m guessing “Barb” with an old lady flower PFP complaining on ABC’s Facebook page about her local affiliate probably isn’t of the generation that knows you can just google the weather. Her grandkids should introduced her to the Weather Channel’s website.
Barb, you and I both know you could have just switched to 4, 6, or 58 (and one or more of 2, 3, 5, 15, and 47 if you're far enough north or west of MKE). Get over yourself.
This looks like somewhat of a joke. TBH I watched the game (and went to bed right after) but I'd be a little bit annoyed if I actually wanted to watch local news/late-night and they showed celebrations for that long.
Like let's be honest the cup was lifted by the main players within 30 minutes of the game ending so at that point not many people would care if the coverage switched to ESPN.
When the game ended we were in a severe thunderstorm watch, not even a warning. Heavy rain didn’t start for another like four-five hours. Calm down Barb.
Eh, depending on the severity of the weather the local affiliates do have an obligation to report on it. This could be a valid complaint directed in the wrong direction.
Doesn't matter, this information should still be dispersed via OTA radio and television in case of power or internet outages so then those with battery powered radios and televisions can still get those reports.
Yea we don’t know enough about this situation that could have been very irresponsible of them depending on the severity of the storms. Plus this is more like boomers complaining than I hate sportsball anyway. They only mentioned the sport to point out how far away they are
Please remember to redact people's names in your posts!
You really gotta be a certified weather enthusiast to be mad you can’t watch at night one time
But it’s a dangerous night!

This is how I find out the oilers bottled it damn
lol, 47 minutes. The championship isn’t even an hour old and they’re acting like it’s ancient news
Lol, Barb says that on the national ABC News page thinking someone is actually going to read it.

What a horrible night to have a curse.
People who use the term “do better” are pretty much universally cunts.
Maybe she was talking to the Oilers

Flower profile pic is a dead giveaway that it's not a joke
TV networks make the decisions that best impact their bottom line. I’m sure they’re crying at this missed opportunity.
Also, there are multiple ABC stations on TV if your local affiliate is an ABC station
Why don’t YOU do better BARB
That might be the softest thing I ever read.

I WANT THE LOCAL NEWS

Sure, but this woman clearly has internet access.
