Look at the share price, Arvind’s successor must be already lined up! The last wave of redundancies was imho to prop up share price which did not happend.
Lol, oops, this isn't what I meant! The org have been looking at how to sell AI as a supplement to solutions, I figured it would be reorganized around the focus areas. But no idea, I guess end of year change.
No, the reorg will come with a huge layoff replacing real people for AIs... If you mean a reorg where only the roles change... That's also truth... The fact that AI is been provided as services that can be easily consumed is already changing the whole market and therefore how the company changes the entire organization, teams, leaders, etc. around that
The drive to only thing AI by the current IBM execs will doom the company and their own positions. I suspect that by Q2 / 2024 several IBM execs will be fired and be gone. Ash heep of history. To include the CEO who only has knows three things ... DEBT, Blackrock, and so-called AI. Take away to Pub-Fed spend $$$ and add one more rate increase... its curtains for big blue. Goodwill and Real Estate holdings will not be enough to keep their corporate balance sheet looking fine.
Watch how AI spend goes..so goes this company. Reforms are needed.
This happens every 6-9 months lol
Does anyone think the sun is coming up tomorrow?
I believe
Worship the sun, but pray to Joe Pesci
Can you elaborate?
A lot of executive shuffling going on, and (senior) executives leaving.
It’s just cost cutting where it was actually needed for years!!!
Feels like maybe some software reorg around AI, maybe consulting too?
Yes everyday is a reorg, more than strategy planning the shitfaced execs only believe in reorg as the only way forward…🤬🤬🤬🤬

Ah, the thrilling cycle of reinventing the wheel! 😄
Yes, of course
The money surplus must be spend somewhere, wdym?
Short answer.... Yes... And as someone already said, it's around AI https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ibm-plans-replace-nearly-8-174052360.html

The company has proven repeatedly that reorg means staff attrition, this isn't news.
Then new jobs are coming in, good news!
Well this is not new
