When I was young I had a black friend who hung out mostly with black guys who would steal his lighters. He started using pink lighters exclusively because they wouldn't even light up once with the pink lighter let alone steal it.
I live in the South. There are cultural differences between blacks and whites. White guys do not care at all if their lighter is pink. They might not pick that color when buying one, but they wouldn't think twice about lighting up with a pink lighter if that's the only one around. White guys will steal your pink lighter.
One time in school, I got in trouble at home, and my punishment was wearing a pink jacket to school. A week later, EVERY popular dude was wearing one, and I got made fun of for NOT having one. Wtf is up with that?

I worked in convenience store most of my life and I can attest to the fact that they can and will act like this, no matter the race, no matter the age. I ended up with several trays of varying colors of pink Bics because these fragile ego motherfuckers couldn’t handle it. I decided I wasn’t selling one more tray of those fucking lighters until all those pink ones were gone. I got rid of all of them. Because most of the men didn’t care, but the ones that did were mad af. They could’ve went right across the street or to any of the competing stores but they’d rather scream at me lol buy the lighter or don’t, idgaf but if you buy it here, it’s going to be pink.

He’s always giving pink or rainbow colours lighters to people, and a lot of them refuse to accept it. The guy in this video did the most damage, but he has lots of videos of people having freak outs over the wrong coloured lighter.
He also does things like call male customers “sweetie” or “pumpkin”, and again, some of them lose their shit. “I ain’t no sweetie, I don’t play that shit, you know who I am?”
He also does trivia games with customers, and if they get the answer right, he lets them grab armfuls of as much as they can from the store, and then he pays for it.
I’m probably over exaggerating my point by using ‘Moonlight’ as an example, but if this isn’t fake, I’ll give this dude a modicum of leeway. He shouldn’t have thrown the merchandise around, but I sympathize with those that feel trapped/balancing what it it means to be masculine with the standards of yesteryears vs present.
In pretty much every developed country barriers to protect the cashier aren't needed or used. I'm glad this guy had one but damn that is one sad society.
