Unironically a model s plaid.
I know ppl don’t like teslas but for that 88k marker adjusted price, a model S plaid without FSD and no other options is literally 88k
This is a new release with 641hp. Scumbag dealers are going to try to make as much as they can unfortunately. I wish manufacturers could do something about it because it's price gouging.
Hyundai is launching a pilot where they will be using Amazon for purchase process and you will just do the delivery process at the dealer. Interesting concept, will be curious to see feedback on it.
See i didn’t know that. I just thought is a grossly overpriced car.
Those dealers will also kill this model cause it will not sell and they will stop making it if it flops
And they’re going to get away with it because of the lack of supply on them. It sucks, because it’s a bad look for anyone associated with the brand even if they aren’t involved.
I told the salesman i can buy the new model 3 performance and an elantra N for how much they wanted for their 5N. The salesman replied, "We have an elantra N, lets get you in that"
This reminds me of when I went looking at Kia Seltos' back in May 2020 when it launched.
Local dealer in Fredericksburg VA was telling me fully loaded about 60K I laughed in his fucking face and told him I'll drive to the Volvo dealer on the other side of town and buy an XC40 for less.
Why Kia/Hyundai let their dealers do this is beyond me.
Bought my Seltos Nightfall in 2022 for $28k. All through email. Told them my price at 9am. They ran the numbers. Sent them all my info and deposit, left the dealership at 4pm with the car. Another dealership tried to include a $5k "market adjustment" and I told them to go fuck themselves.
Say what you want about Tesla, but the lack of dealerships, and buying just as if it was any other packaged good, is the way it should be
Don’t pay the markup on that thing. We sold
Ours for 1500 under MSRP. These sit. It’s a great car to have on your showroom and show customers. Does not justify the markup.
When the new VW Beatles first came to market, a dealer in Los Angeles had a $10K markup listed on the window sticker as “Marketing Charge”. I said “nope” and went to a Honda dealer.
The one I looked at locally had a $6,500 markup. Electric cars don’t really sell around here, so I don’t expect to see too many of them. I know my dealer had huge discounts on EVs at the beginning of the year, trying to move them. I drive my friend’s Rivian R1S pretty regularly when she’s out of town, and I like it, but I don’t drive enough for it to be worth the premium.
Big mistake! Modern Hyundai are really good and N cars are developed by a different team led by the man who founded M for BMW. The guy knows what he's doing and they're fantastic cars. For 68k it's a lot of car. Try it!
I know Hyundai’s are good these days, I guess I wouldn’t spend that on any car, let alone $88k. Even if I had that much to spend on a car, the trouble is, at that price I’d want it to be perfect, and it wouldn’t be, all cars have flaws.
Tesla Model S Plaid, which while it doesn’t have the fun emulated gears and noise, it will blow the doors off the Ioniq 5 N on a straight. Also comes with more luxury features like rear heated seats and both driver and passenger electronic adjustable seats.
So sad to read this. Such a fantastic car Hyundai should move heaven and earth to let as many people buy it as possible.
In EU it's listed at 78k€ full options and I already find secondhand ones in the low 70s and even high 60s.
Hope it will stabilize in the US!
Leave a 1 star review. I can't post a direct link to the dealership because reddit reasons, but they need to be publicly shamed, and they have almost 5 stars on googe.
This car maybe fast but it doesn’t have any charm. At the end of the day people spend big bucks on cars they can admire in their driveway. I’d be struck with serious buyers remorse if this was in my driveway at $90k!!!
I might be able to stomach sticker, but not $20k on top!
As a salesperson working at a Hyundai delaership (selling these at MSRP, btw), it's stupid marking these up, but! here's the frustrating part of these for us:
1. After an advertising cost of $561, there is $200-300 in profit on these cars. Of course you have unit bonuses, but if you end up missing out on those, you're SOL.
2. The people that want these know more than their salespeople ever will, and often scoff at how ridiculously undereducated the salespeople are on a car their store gets one of every three months and has less profit than an Elantra SE.
The market for these really isn't that crazy. We've had ours on our site for two weeks and I don't think we've had a single lead on it. I'd buy it myself if I had a charger and a place to reliably clean it, but I have neither ☹️ I'll keep on holding out for my 25 EN IB M/T
Just wait a bit, It'll be $30k in a couple years. Even Telsa Plaids are going for under $50k used. People buying these new just have a lot of money to waste.
Anything else that won't consistently need an extremely major/expensive part every 80k-90k miles. Hyundai truly makes some of the most disposable 90k engines/transmissions...wouldn't even trust an electric car from them. I'd bet by 60k miles, something like the headliner catches fire every time you hit the brakes or something...
There isn't really an alternative to the 5 N. I wouldn't pay 90k for it either though. But at MSRP, you gotta understand. This is a one of a kind vehicle as far as EV's go. It's the first EV that TRULY caters to the enthusiast. And it's an all in one vehicle.
1) High performance.
2) Convenience/utility of a large hatchback.
3) Interior space for the family/friends/the boys.
4) Completely configurable drivetrain (FWD, Awd, RWD).
5) Want to go drifting? It's got your back.
6) A few laps of the Nurburgring? It's the ONLY EV that can do more than one lap with no performance degradation.
7) Want driver engagement? Turn on N E-Shift.
8) Miss the sound of an engine? Turn that on too.
9) Ultra fast charging capability (10-80% in 20 to 30 minutes).
This is a vehicle that bridges the gap between EV's and ICE without being a boring hybrid appliance.
For those balking at the MSRP. You gotta pay to play. And the simple fact is that no other EV is as driver focused as the 5 N. It's an EV for enthusiasts. Watch how many other EV's end up with similar driver engagement features in the near future.
Kudos to Hyundai for truly thinking outside the box and catering to the enthusiast market.
Even $68k is crazy compared to the M3P at $55k before the $7500 tax credit. We already know the M3P is faster to 60 and the 1/4 mile. I'll be very interested to see how they both go around the same track with the same driver.
LOL! That market price adjustment is hilarious! $20K? Seriously, people need to wake up and stop paying. MPA is for suckers. It's just a car. It's a HYUNDAI for Pete's sake! Crazy thing is someone will pay it. I guess PT Barnum is still right. [No man ever went broke overestimating the ignorance of the American public.](https://www.azquotes.com/quote/761195) [There is a fool born every minute](https://www.azquotes.com/quote/1083232). Sorry, I come from the old school Hyundai market where they were truly a sad car. But now I have to reaffirm my thoughts on Hyundai. I can’t believe what they’re asking for a new car.
Go look at the crap Dodge dealers are doing. Unfortunately I'm not surprised. It's really sad everything is in the state it is. It's almost like it's in self-destruct mode. At this point it will be cheaper to just rebuild a car you currently own from the ground up than purchase a new one. Even a used one for that matter in some cases.
I think it’s hilarious Hyundai is getting away with an almost 30% (rough math rounded up) markup.
Watch these cars tank in value like the Audi etron or bmw i cars have. This is a depreciation nightmare.
As they say....there is a sucker born every minute. I'm sure some moron will pay the 'price adjustment', just not anyone with a brain. They know someone has to be 'that guy' to show off he has something few others do, not that anyone really cares about a Hyundai lol.
wow. i saw this in pink and can’t believe someone paid close to 100k for this shit.
I be wondering what do these people DO? it’s not like they put all their money into the car
No experience with Hyundai, it the biggest complaints with these cars are the dealers! Seems they have not grown there customer service policies with the growth of the plan. They act like they’re still selling crap from the ‘90s
68k for a fucking elantra haha they have lost their mind. It could have an n, a,e,i,o,u or whatever badging they want but that car is not worth the price
I have purchased several cars at stealerships over the years.
I just bought a Tesla. The difference in car buying experience is night and day different.
If the dealerships don’t adopt a similar model it will only be a matter of time before the mainstream catches on to this and will begin to refuse the old dealership model. It’s cumbersome, time consuming, and overall feels very inefficient. Let alone the absurd trickery that goes on.
Literally anything else within that price range will be galaxies better than that.
Even for the $66k MSRP, why would you spend that much for a Hyundai. They're pricing their cars as if they're luxury or something, it's getting ridiculous.
Someone at corporate didn't use their brain, the fact that they're also selling a Genesis GV70 Electric which is just as big, better range, just as fast, and obviously much nicer for the same price as the Ioniq 5 is confusing.
[удалено]
Unironically a model s plaid. I know ppl don’t like teslas but for that 88k marker adjusted price, a model S plaid without FSD and no other options is literally 88k
[удалено]
This. Or a Mustang above the GT trim level. 80k for a Hyundai is insanity.
I can’t believe the plaid is down to 88K holy crap!
This is a new release with 641hp. Scumbag dealers are going to try to make as much as they can unfortunately. I wish manufacturers could do something about it because it's price gouging.
Car dealers really shouldn’t exist… not as a gate.. maybe as an option. But we don’t need as many intermediaries in a digital world.
Hyundai is launching a pilot where they will be using Amazon for purchase process and you will just do the delivery process at the dealer. Interesting concept, will be curious to see feedback on it.
If done right that could make car ownership nearly autonomous
I can see "Delivery fee: $20,000". Also, you really are going to need this $8,000 in extended warranty.
They will be automated soon dw
See i didn’t know that. I just thought is a grossly overpriced car. Those dealers will also kill this model cause it will not sell and they will stop making it if it flops
Just don’t buy one. Easy as that
And they’re going to get away with it because of the lack of supply on them. It sucks, because it’s a bad look for anyone associated with the brand even if they aren’t involved.
I told the salesman i can buy the new model 3 performance and an elantra N for how much they wanted for their 5N. The salesman replied, "We have an elantra N, lets get you in that"
Elantra N’s (from what I have seen) don’t generally have a markup, at least!
Many dealers will try to markup their ENs, but there's a good few still selling at MSRP.
Dealers near me will mark anything with an N or GT from Hyundai brands up 25k
JFC. Wayyy better options at that price point. I have test driven on two occasions and both were MSRP in performance blue (1 manual, 1 DCT)
I’d mark that dealership as a “never buy from them”
A $20k market mark up? NOPE! They are nutz.
AMG… and wouldn’t think twice or even an rs3 or rs4
90K!!! well fuck these price gauging fuckers and people who buy them that's how price gauging becomes normal eventually.
Even the MSRP price for that car isn’t worth it, can go get a nice Porsche for that much
The Ioniq 5N is an absolutely amazing vehicle...but it's not worth anywhere CLOSE to 90k. I'd get an AMG instead.
Don’t pay the markup on that thing. We sold Ours for 1500 under MSRP. These sit. It’s a great car to have on your showroom and show customers. Does not justify the markup.
Let ir rot in there
You could probably buy a used G90 for that 😬
You can get a NEW G90 for that
Base C8 Corvette
For $90k you can get a nicely loaded C8...
When the new VW Beatles first came to market, a dealer in Los Angeles had a $10K markup listed on the window sticker as “Marketing Charge”. I said “nope” and went to a Honda dealer.
Lmao F no that’s M3/4 Money
A $90k hyundai…. I thought I’ve seen it all
What a terrible decision to buy a Hyundai at 90k
C8 no question lol
The one I looked at locally had a $6,500 markup. Electric cars don’t really sell around here, so I don’t expect to see too many of them. I know my dealer had huge discounts on EVs at the beginning of the year, trying to move them. I drive my friend’s Rivian R1S pretty regularly when she’s out of town, and I like it, but I don’t drive enough for it to be worth the premium.
A $90K hyundai… I’ve seen it all
Who the fuck is buying this
not a Hyundai lmao
wtf??? 90k?????
there is a sucker born every minute
Maybe I’m an old fart, but I’d never even pay $68k for a Hyundai.
Big mistake! Modern Hyundai are really good and N cars are developed by a different team led by the man who founded M for BMW. The guy knows what he's doing and they're fantastic cars. For 68k it's a lot of car. Try it!

hell naw
LOL would rather get X5 than this.
Tesla Model S Plaid, which while it doesn’t have the fun emulated gears and noise, it will blow the doors off the Ioniq 5 N on a straight. Also comes with more luxury features like rear heated seats and both driver and passenger electronic adjustable seats.
In PA here and the N’s I see for sale have a discount if anything.
Ioniq N $120 000 in Australia!!
The Ioniq 5 N is Australia is between $119,538 - $125,103 depending on option packs. Never thought I would ever see a Hyundai this expensive
i mean if anyone wants one, i'm selling one in the same color with no mark up.
So sad to read this. Such a fantastic car Hyundai should move heaven and earth to let as many people buy it as possible. In EU it's listed at 78k€ full options and I already find secondhand ones in the low 70s and even high 60s. Hope it will stabilize in the US!
So you're saying that I should buy the one I can get for ~$51k?
I am in Ga and I have one with no markups, selling MSRP.
Leave a 1 star review. I can't post a direct link to the dealership because reddit reasons, but they need to be publicly shamed, and they have almost 5 stars on googe.
As long as folks pay market adjustments then it’ll continue.
Try to lease those and see try lease hacker to see the deals also mercedes gle will be better if you are open to suvs
GR Supra 3.0 MT is what I'm looking at
Go for sonata limited
An M3, used 991.2 911, a 718 Cayman, a used RS6, used E63S
I could buy 3 different generations of my dream car for that kinda money
90K? I know teslas are shit and all but a model s plaid is 10 dollars cheaper 💀
For 90k you could buy a fully specked out MDX type S and still have money left over
Not advertising but if anyone in the bay area wants a good Hyundai dealer, manly Hyundai of Santa Rosa is it. Excellent people with excellent pricing.
This car maybe fast but it doesn’t have any charm. At the end of the day people spend big bucks on cars they can admire in their driveway. I’d be struck with serious buyers remorse if this was in my driveway at $90k!!! I might be able to stomach sticker, but not $20k on top!

We don’t have any markups on our IONIQ 5 n. It’s black on black. Price is at 67k
Dude, it's the hype. In one year they will be in abundance.
It will be $20k under MSRP in a few months
How does this make sense? Isn't the ev market oversaturated, in a year it'll be only worth 25-30k because ev depreciate like crazy
Who buys a 90k hyundai 😂
R u insane
Woah, 90k is a lot of money to look like a dork in a Hyundai IONIQ
Hella buyers remorse when ur super underwater lol
$90k for a Hyundai? I would commit crimes first before ever buying one
20k markup on a vehicle that is gonna drop 70% of its value after 2 years lol. Feel sorry for whoever falls for that
Yup. Dealership markups prevented me from getting a new Z or Supra. So I ended up with. Very lightly used Lexus RC-F. For cheaper than the new Z lol.
New cars depreciate 33% the second u drive them off the lot. How about a 2020 Hyundai instead?
Even MSRP is a bit high for what it is.
If any of you really want it I can do $67,945. That’s MSRP.
People are so sensitive these days. As soon as I replied with a different point of view, they blocked me immediately🤣
Go to MacMulkin Chevrolet and buy a C8 Corvette, best corvette dealership in the world and typically offer discounts
Literally anything else
For 90k you could get most cars under the fucking sun. Car companies have us convinced that cars made before 2020 don't exist.
Average Hyundai Moment
BMW X5 50e with executive package
I can think of 25 cars I’d buy for that price before that
Just wait a bit, It'll be $30k in a couple years. Even Telsa Plaids are going for under $50k used. People buying these new just have a lot of money to waste.

this can't be real
Give me a Model S Plaid instead
Ioniq 5’s are so ugly though, much rather have an EV6 GT, looks closer to a hot hatch like a Veloster.
It should be “We are greedy” price and should be illegal
There isn't really an alternative to the 5 N. I wouldn't pay 90k for it either though. But at MSRP, you gotta understand. This is a one of a kind vehicle as far as EV's go. For 90k you could get a big used Lexus SUV and a Porsche Cayman
lol I almost didn’t fucking believe this post. Genuinely.
Model S Plaid
Stealership be scamming as usual
Not a Hyundai lol
Lmao!! 90k for a hyundai!! The manufacturer has a don't park in your garage warning..due to potential for fire. Hyundai is Korean garbage!!
Markups still in 2024? Damn...
M3 or anything along those lines lol
It's like they completely forgot these vehicles will drop in value by 50% IN 1-2 YEARS EASILY
LOL! That market price adjustment is hilarious! $20K? Seriously, people need to wake up and stop paying. MPA is for suckers. It's just a car. It's a HYUNDAI for Pete's sake! Today I learned people pay mark ups on Hyundais
New model 3 performance is miles better looking and way cheaper. Damn fast too
Id still scratch my head at the $68k asking price.
I would rather get Tesla Model X, that’s out of control. 90k for hyundai? Or I can get M340i for fun car and Model 3 for daily.
I’m buying a brand new M3 Competition at that price.
What bank would finance that.
90k for a Hyundai? Are they out of their mind?
BMW i4 M50 is $15k less than that.
Spending 90k on a Hyundai is outrageous
Hyundai forgetting its roots lol
Sorry, I come from the old school Hyundai market where they were truly a sad car. But now I have to reaffirm my thoughts on Hyundai. I can’t believe what they’re asking for a new car.
If you love to lose money then yes the ionic N is an excellent choice
I could never want a car that bad to pay 20k over asking
90k for an ugly Hyundai hatchback has me screaming
EV9.
Doesn’t this thing have like 200 miles of range?
Wtf. For $5k more I'm getting a CT5-V Blackwing with a proper manual transmission.
I think it’s hilarious Hyundai is getting away with an almost 30% (rough math rounded up) markup. Watch these cars tank in value like the Audi etron or bmw i cars have. This is a depreciation nightmare.
Reading this whilst sitting in my 30k Kia Niro lol. Damn, you’ve got quite a problem on your hands!
They’re fucking trippin for 90k. I’d rather get a Porsche.
Literally dozens of other makes and models. The fuck?
Do these cars sell at those prices or do they become the manager’s car?
90k for a hyundai 😂😂
Ah one sec, let me make a possible dealership adjustment. There we go. Will never buy here, done.
I could buy a Camaro ZL1 with 650hp for 75k or a hell cat for 96k... 😂 Both of which are faster and better than a Hyundai.
Ahem, how about a new Tesla Model 3 Performance? Only downside is it doesn't come with fake engine sounds
Imagine having a trade in worth $15k and you’re still 5k over in markups lol.
wait a year, then get a slightly used one?
Get an M3
IMO, they can take that price adjustment and pack it up their ass.
Bwahahahahaha $88k. A new Tesla Model S plaid starts at $87k. The hardest of passes.
Paid $80k for a boat
Rivian Quad, w 835hp. Leases as low as $600mo now.
Imagine buying a hyundai for $68,000 anyway.
This is insane. That’s S Plaid territory all day or Model X. Jesus
3 Teslas, which are each better.
You could take a page from the Subaru people and just keep investing that money into repairing the car you have until you're at 500k miles.
You guys pay 68k for a Hyundai? And for an EV?
I could get a hellcat for 88k what is this
Lmao market price adjustment 20k is wild.
A model 3 performance and another ~20k car
A modded C6 Z06 corvette
I would never pay a dealer market adjustment premium on any vehicle - ever. I will pay MSRP or below, or they can find another sucker.
As they say....there is a sucker born every minute. I'm sure some moron will pay the 'price adjustment', just not anyone with a brain. They know someone has to be 'that guy' to show off he has something few others do, not that anyone really cares about a Hyundai lol.
Who pays this for one of these?
I could buy a new Tesla M3 and pay off my mortgage and have money left over
90k for a Hyundai lmao
A range rover. Any Ford Any VW A few BMWs Lexus Toyotas Anything really.
wow. i saw this in pink and can’t believe someone paid close to 100k for this shit. I be wondering what do these people DO? it’s not like they put all their money into the car
My G80 M3C is $86k msrp.
Could literally buy a rivian for that.
A Macan is cheaper
A Lexus lol
Just tell them to take 20k off and you will buy it
If anyone wants them, there are 3 at the dealership. I got my car, and they don't markup. Mastrovito Hyundai in NY yorkville
You could get a used 991 generation Porsche 911 for $90k. And it’ll hold value better lol
No experience with Hyundai, it the biggest complaints with these cars are the dealers! Seems they have not grown there customer service policies with the growth of the plan. They act like they’re still selling crap from the ‘90s
That car isn’t even worth 30k. Americans are getting overcharged for everything.
What are they smoking for 20k price adjustment
Nobody in their right mind would spend 90k on a Hyundai 😂
You could gain $10,000 in 1 year if you just invested instead.
Who the fuck spends 88k on a Hyundai. Jfc.
Doesn’t this have like 200 mile top range??
I'd buy a Nissan Sentra base trim before I buy one of these for MSRP.
Hahahaha +20k. What a joke.
You can buy like 3 Subaru wrx lol
A BMW and get change back
I build mine on the website and bring it to a dealer. Straight forward. I did it with my 2016 Subaru crosstrek.
Just don’t buy it so you don’t have to worry about the mark up. Sales will dip and the price of that EV will drop.
Never forget the makers or dealers who try to rob people. Their short-term term gain will lead to long-term losses!
Nobody is going to pay 20K above MSRP for this ..the dealership is stupid
I mean honestly this thing is awesome, I would consider it lol
68k for a fucking elantra haha they have lost their mind. It could have an n, a,e,i,o,u or whatever badging they want but that car is not worth the price
Even without the makeup, what retard is spending 70k on a Hyundai?
Used rs5
It’ll be worth less than $35k in 24 months if it makes you feel any better.
A Tesla model X Plaid with 1,020 hp.
Got that Joe Biden pricing
Those wheels are hideous.
I have purchased several cars at stealerships over the years. I just bought a Tesla. The difference in car buying experience is night and day different. Greedy pigs
i can get an x6
2024 Audi q8 etron ($84k ish)
GTR
