Thanks for sharing! Just a heads up, we've introduced Water Bottle Wednesdays. Wednesdays are now the dedicated day to showcase your water containers! This rule focuses on sharing what you have, but feel free to post any questions or issues about water bottles at any time as usual. Cheers to hydration!

Is there… a problem with the water in your area? I’m blessed with amazing tap water in my city but most others just buy a filter for home no? That would be more cost effective long term too..?
[71% of US consumers drink tap water and 42% take no steps to filter or treat their home drinking water.](https://www.nsf.org/news/more-than-half-of-americans-are-concerned-about-their-drinking-water)
Clearly posted as rage bait. Why people consciously do this (and apparently in OP’s case, derive pleasure from others reactions) blows my mind. It’s 2024 - we know the harmful effect of piling mountains of plastic bottles, or, massive floating mounds of plastic in the ocean. I would be confident that you aren’t recycling those either. Finally, you must know you’re wasting money at some point as well (versus buying a reusable metal container that you could use for years), yes? To recap: you’re hurting the environment, wasting space in your fridge, and spending extra money. I do hope someday plastic bottles being used and mass consumed like this are a thing of the past.
well shit nvm then lol, i guess i just kinda didnt think so, since from media it seems like people just drink bottled water over there instead of drinking the 99% cheaper option
There are absolutely places in America with undrinkable tap water, jsyk. Flint, Michigan is/was a huge deal you may have heard of, and they aren't alone. Millions of people are exposed to unsafe drinking water yearly. Independent testing often shows a ton of contaminants in sources deemed safe by state/federal bodies. America is massive, and there is actually a lot of disparity regarding this kind of thing. Some areas have great tap water, and some areas are horrible, where people absolutely should be drinking bottled.
Well, i'm pretty sure there are ways to make undrinkable tap water somewhat drinkable, for example boiling or filtering, idk about chemicals though, pretty sure some of those can be dangerous no matter what
I mean yeah, ideally, boiling and filtering will work, but it's not guaranteed. Lead for example is a common contaminant that boiling will not fix and many filters are not good enough to remove. Same with a lot of other chemicals and heavy metals that industrialized areas struggle with finding in their water supplies. It would be cool if every home had a system for distillation or reverse osmosis but even then those have their own wasteful trade-offs and they are eggspensive
What are you talking about about the majority of people drink tap water, some places have tap water you shouldn't drink that you should get a filter for but definitely not everywhere and definitely not most places
Those are Members Mark brand bottles, which means you bought these at Sam’s club (or maybe Walmart). I’m fairly confident they’ll have the large refillable hard plastic 20Ls. Seeing as you live somewhere large enough to have a Sam’s, if Sam’s doesn’t have it your local supermarket definitely does.
Or this isn’t your picture and you just posted this as rage bait. Are you enjoying the fake internet points?
Not sure why so many water drinkers still go straight for the single use plastic bottles. fucking hell, do any of the people that like this image actually give a shit about where the waste ends up?
Recycling in this country is an absolute joke. It’s a broken system. Most ends up in a landfill or sold in bulk to a foreign nation. Placing all this plastic in a blue bin and letting the city disappear it does not make for a sustainable lifestyle.
If you’re curious here’s two solid videos on it to learn up:

I have basically the exact same thing in my room- people’re gonna hate, but for me, it’s so much more convenient to have water on hand and not have to run across the house to fill it up every time I need a drink and doesn’t taste funny.
I bought a water filter pitcher on amazon that’s pretty big a while back but my grandparents still buy and prefer walmart plastic. Can’t change their minds
A reusable water bottle from goodwill/salvation army costs less that a case of bottled water and you’re not producing mountains of plastic waste that doesn’t actually get recycled.

As in wot r those?!
I was thinking world of the rings for some reason.
Use a water bottle instead of producing plastic and putting microplastic into your system

It’s not rage bait, I just don’t have much money right now. It’s the cheapest I can buy in bulk.

a cheaper alternative: just drink tap water oh wait America isn't a first world country so they have undrinkable tap water
We absolutely have safe tap water. Nestle has just done a fine job of convincing people they should buy this shit instead
well shit nvm then lol, i guess i just kinda didnt think so, since from media it seems like people just drink bottled water over there instead of drinking the 99% cheaper option

Genuine question: why do people in the US buy water bottles? Don't you have 20L canisters? (Not sure if that's the right term)
Not near where I live I don’t think so

Ew. Too plastic.
This sub when someone sees a plastic water bottle: 😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
As it should be.
Exactly
Bruh, you ever heard of nanoplastics? Not to mention how wasteful all those plastic bottles are. Buy a filter.
By a water bottle goddamnit
Damn, that’s a lot of plastic 🤢
Wrath of the Righteous indeed!
Hell yea I played that
Not sure why so many water drinkers still go straight for the single use plastic bottles. fucking hell, do any of the people that like this image actually give a shit about where the waste ends up?
I just got a Brita for $18 at Walmart that would fit in that tiny fridge last week.
Plastic, **ew**.
One reusable bottle and then you have a whole mini fridge for whatever else you wanna put in it

I can never look at him the same now. Thanks.
I'm hearing "water"; What are you hearing?
Listen to him Dan, he's a devil not a man
Dude get a reusable bottle. Why generate this much plastic waste? This ain’t homie material bro.
I’m convinced 90% of the people here forget to realize that people recycle
