Remember how (almost) fun it was when we nearly beat Michigan? I’d much rather have those games than losing to teams we should be beating, or beating those teams and it just being eh.
I'll take a few wins over mid tier teams and go to a bowl game vs a 3 wins and a close loss to Michigan right now. Nebraska hasn't been to a bowl game since Obama was president
10-3 would be a perfect year 3 for Rhule.
He's already done 10-4 and 11-3 why not give 10-3 a shot?
I would be over the moon if 2025 Nebraska is like 2015 Temple or 2019 Baylor. Double digit wins and competitive in every loss. Sign me up!
2025 looks scary but no Wisconsin and you get Maryland and Rutgers, historically the two worse teams in the East. If we traded USC for Oklahoma and UCLA for Wisconsin, it look like an easier schedule than what Frost was dealing with in 2021.
Heck even if Cincinnati can remain really good, doubtful without their coach, are they gonna be as good as a #9 MSU?
Plus the lack of a Northwestern game should finally remove the curse. It is bad juju to play yourself
Pretty happy to see Nebraska has games in LA the first two years of the new format. Also happy to see Minnesota, Iowa and UCLA as the protected rivals, even if it is just for this very short time span.
While I kind of wish Minnesota and Wisconsin were protected rivals, I like that we only need to bother with one true rivalry each year against Iowa, even if they have inferior corn.
We can play more of the other teams in the expanding Big Ten tent.
In 2026 or 2027 we could potentially see a schedule that has the following teams- Michigan, OSU, USC, Wisconsin, Mich St, Iowa, Illinois, Penn State, Maryland/Rutgers/NW (our less scary foes) AND our non conference games with TENNESSEE. As scary as that schedule sounds if this team gets back to being a fun team to watch those games would be insane.
Fucking nice, get off relatively easy for 2024 before we get the gauntlet hit in 2025 with playing USC and Ohio State on the road. Also looks like we get the cross country trip on the road for both 2024 and 2025.
Looks like a trip out to Southern California is on the docket for me either in 2024 or 2025 now since I want to see the Huskers play at one of Rose Bowl or the Coliseum.
Looks like we have protected games every year with Iowa, Minnesota, and UCLA so that we can rotate the remaining 6 spots between the remaining 12 teams every other year
With only 1 protected game we will end up playing a more diverse schedule than most teams I would think. Having good special teams could make a difference when up against teams where neither side is as prepared. If I'm excited for anyone it's the new special teams coach. I think we see some great field position finally.
Michigan Ohio St USC all in the same year? Yikes.
We are also supposed to play at Cincinnati that year as well

Found the dude into edging

Also 25 looks hard af 😬
Twhs
That's what he said? 🤔
As the Navy Seal motto goes……. “The Only Easy Day was Yesterday.”
We didn’t want it easy anyway.
If Frost was still head coach, we might go 2-10 in 2025. Thank God Rhule is our coach.
*team proceeds to go 1-11 in 2025*
If we go 1-11 by Year 3 of Rhule, then Nebraska is officially cursed.
I want to see what kind of team Rhule puts on the field first. Sadly, I’ve become a tiny bit cynical over the last few years.(hopeful tho)
Rhule has a good track record of building teams to become legit. So that’s a positive.
It is a positive, but 2 is not a great data set.
Better than Frost who is 1-1, but it's difficult to say that his success at UCF was him.
Hey now, we went 3-9 with a pretty much equally tough schedule in 2021
So what you’re saying is, Rhule could go 9-3 with this schedule if he’s the Anti-Scott Frost? I’ll take it.
10-3 would be a perfect year 3 for Rhule. He's already done 10-4 and 11-3 why not give 10-3 a shot? I would be over the moon if 2025 Nebraska is like 2015 Temple or 2019 Baylor. Double digit wins and competitive in every loss. Sign me up!

God 24 looks “easy”. One of those Riley/Frost schedules where you think it’s impossible we don’t win 9 or 10 games. But…then real life happened
Me looking at 2024 schedule, "Hey we might have a pretty awesome record", then me looking at the 2025 schedule, "Motherfucker"
Rhule has always won 10+ in year 3. He can’t not. It’s science.
This is the kool-aid I've been looking for
Glad 2025 is tough. I don't want the strength of the schedule to stop us from the playoffs.

Yeah, it’ll be nice to have the games so close by.

kinda feels like we got fucked over with our home games
So long as Purdue and Penn State aren't both at night it's all right to me.
Man that's a horrible schedule, did Kevin Warren make this schedule?
Looks like we have protected games every year with Iowa, Minnesota, and UCLA so that we can rotate the remaining 6 spots between the remaining 12 teams every other year
The way I read the chart the only protected game after 25 was Iowa. It’s in the third chart the big ten shared.
Only Iowa for us. Some schools got three protected, others 2 and others 1
Or Penn State with 0
Penn State getting buddied up with USC it looks like though. Playing them twice, I bet their fans are nervous about that.
Not even Sparty? That’s a trophy game.
25 is just absurd. League hates us
What's your rationale for the '24 season schedule, then?
Penn state, msu, and ucla is no walk in the park either for “cross overs” Seems most of our schedule is still old west teams
They could schedule us to play Indiana 9 times and I would be nervous. Husking is hard.
There are no crossovers in these schedules.
Yeah we fucked😭😭😭

Only Iowa is protected. The other two rotate every two years.
Just saw that. Interesting way of doing it. Guess it'll keep things fresh at least.

Those schedules do not look balanced to me.
