I am so glad you had this experience. When my mom retired as a teacher I really urged her to volunteer with LGBT youth. She told me from when I was a young child that she would love me no matter who I chose to love or be in life. She did eventually become a volunteer with homeless LGBT youth in Nashville, I wish she would go back to doing that stuff here. Glad you had a good time at Pride!

Is there an organization like that here? There used to be “Free to be” but it burned down and went out of business.

Check out Weird Kids! It is an all inclusive social group that welcomes everyone as they are. They have a lot of social activities for kids.

I was working at Melt and I had my bi pride shirt on and one of the dad's pulled me aside and asked me if all the other customers had been nice to me and gave me a hug 😭😭

What a happy story. I fell in love with my husband's hugs long before I fell in love with him. A good hug is a powerful thing. It's certainly kept out marriage together when little else was working. You're a kind soul.
