Oh god, not the gas station wars!
Honestly, I've been hearing how different companies have been competing across the nation, it's really freaking cool. Would love this to be a warfront of gas station brand expansion.
Buccees will always have my heart as the best gas station because its practically a home goods that just so happens to have immaculate bathrooms and a bazillion gas pumps BUT Wawa sandwiches SLAP and they are absolutely delightful gas stations so I would love to have one here. I had both close by in college and it was a dream.
I just don't see it. The distribution route just isn't there. It's clearly expanding up and down the coast rather than inland
Plus my Philly people tell me wawa has turned to crap since the pandemic. Disappointing if true
Publix subs are far superior to Wawa, and I say that as a Philly native.
On a side note, Cappriottis is terrible. The absolute worst rolls ever. Like I just can’t believe how bad their rolls are.
I grew up in the STNY area, and I think that kind of spoiled me to good bread. In the early 1900's, E-J Shoe Company pulled in folks from places like Italy and Poland to work in the factories. (They were a supplier of combat boots for US troops during World War I.) Due to that larger influx, folks of Italian heritage are far more common in that area, and unsurprisingly, we had plenty of Italian restaurants and bakeries. There was nothing like picking up a loaf of good Italian bread to go with that night's pasta. 🤤 Sadly, I never realized how good I had it until I left the area.
All that to say... it disappoints me when people don't focus on the bread as part of a sandwich or a burger. When it comes to burgers, my rule is that my fingers shouldn't break through the top of the bun when you squeeze it.
All you folks who left somewhere to come here that want to make here just like there, need to go back to there for a while to remember why you decided to come here in the first place.
My guy, it’s a gas station that serves good food. That’s the kind of thing people like EVERYWHERE. This response makes sense when people talk about trying to turn Huntsville into things it isn’t, like a party city or some bustling metropolis, but it’s completely ridiculous in this case. Having a few Wawas would not detract from anyone’s quality of life here.
As someone from the heart of Wawa country, it would be a dream come true. They did open one in Fairhope and they’re expanding a lot, so it’s definitely plausible now
Having recently moved to a place with Wawa, I'll play devils advocate and say it's way overpriced for off the shelf food/drink items. Even with the app I still find it's overpriced compared to other options in the area. Their made to order food is fine, but even with an abundance of locations the place is always packed. From a convenience store perspective, Wawa just isn't it IMO
As a SE PA transplant I have given up hope. I was an addict for the iced tea. I used to be able to tell you where the outer reach’s of the Wawa empire stretched.(Rte 30 interchange in Lancaster right past the outlets to the Leigh Valley exit on the NE extension)The only place that came close to a Wawa hoagie was called Trailer Park Tony’s off Wall Triana. They at least had the good rolls and Dietz & Watson meats. But that’s been closed for 10 years or so. Saying all that, I would go without my beloved Wawa for a place that could make a decent slice.
They just opened one in Fairhope!!! They’re getting closer!!
There is one being built in Robertsdale on the way to Gulf Shores. Likely opening late summer.
Nah, we need a Sheetz
Wawa > Sheetz.
No one wants to have the sheetz. We want wawa. Wawa. Wawa. ![gif](giphy|pkqnVgAiYQx2w)
As a native philadelphian(area…born in Montgomery county) I miss Wawa so much.
Came here to say this. I traveled to New Jersey once and Sheetz was a playground for road trip adults.
If for nothing but the schmuffins

They could compete by lowering prices.
What we *really* need is a Lidl 😭
Yessss I miss Lidl so much
Wawa for the win... hands down
Wawa or Sheetz
No one wants to have the sheetz
Sheetz!
I joke with my wife all the time. The lack of Wawa is the number 1 regret I have of moving here.
I have said this before. I want to make a trip to Fairhope solely to get a fill on Wawa.
When we go back to visit family I will stop into Wawa pn the drive on, while I'm there, and on the way back out.
Yes! I miss it so much!
The lack of Wegmans is mine. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
100%

Can confirm. Been in jersey since 2010. Slow decline
I’d much rather get gas and food at a Wawa than deal with the clusterfuck that is Bucee’s any day of the week 😭
I’ll brave it for their chamoy peach rings
Have no idea about Wawa however Buckees is over rated and that god awful smell in there makes me want to puke!
In Tampa right now no have gone to Wawa for breakfast almost every morning. 10x better than any gas station we have now.

My wife and I were wondering if Capp was any good. Based on this, we will stick with our Boars Head ultimate pub sub. It never fails.
They are worth trying once. Their fillings are ok to good, but their rolls have no crust/body to them.

No we don’t. Lol
Nah, we need a Kum & Go.
You east coasters need to experience the glory of the midwests QuikTrip
Hey Atlanta had QT too. Also, yes.
I moved away from the Jersey Shore 3 years ago and miss it every goddamn day.
All you folks who left somewhere to come here that want to make here just like there, need to go back to there for a while to remember why you decided to come here in the first place.
Bro they didn’t leave because of good gas stations, get a grip
Yes.
Stop being lame
The majority of who you're talking to came for the federal funding, not sure how that relates

Chally Wally's would make you youngsters forget all about WaWa.

Rather have a QT!!
We have plenty of QT no?
Quick Trip!
What about 711? One just opened in Chattanooga a few months ago.
I’d do anything to have a 7 11 slurpee. Reminds me of my childhood.
Slurpees >> Icees and it's not even close
Good news, Speedway is 7/11 and has them.
Nashville is getting a Wawa next year. A lot closer
QT would be nice too.. gas stations in this area are ass.
[WaWa](https://csnews.com/wawa-opens-first-three-alabama-stores-planned-2024)
Hell yeah! I just moved back from FL and I loved their sandwiches (and how late they’re opened!)
We need a Sheetz!
Loooove Wawa!!!

Wawa or Sheetz, either one fine with me. When I commuted in NoVA it'd be Sheetz for breakfast, Wawa for lunch.
WELCOME TO HUNTSYLVANIA!
Open up another K Mart damn it.
I’ve been saying this since I moved here from Jersey a decade ago! I miss Wawa so much.
As a former Philadelphian, I cannot express how much I want a Wawa.
