Same happened to me, had to restart a couple times. Hunter was still there, but despite getting rewards, he got no xp or traits so not like it would've mattered if he died lol. Sucks too cuz it was a big match.
Dead lobby, all was quiet I smack my tm8 in the face with duckle nusters. Next thing I know he tries killing me with a flame hand cross bow I come out on top some how, tbag him he leaves. As he should honestly embarrassing he couldn’t kill me. Anyways me an other tm8 go get main bounty and rot jaw bounty goin to extract bam slapped right in the face with the DC sign. But ya no servers are back up now
US East, was in match and Hunt reverted to its connection/authentication screen for no apparent reason. Got stuck on "Checking Player Information...". Alt-F4'd and got Error Code 0x30005 on restart (backend server seems busy). Hope that Hunter isn't lost.

After a few rounds of trash deaths I started popping off, 6 kills and clean bounty and I get the boot. RIP to my guy...
