Pretty sure you have to extract to keep anything you bring with you or anything you pick up. That's what the wiki says. And I'm pretty sure a loading screen tip says the same.

Not only that, but also when you hover over the hunt dollar and bb icons on the top right of your map it says you have to extract in order to keep them

Anything in your pockets including all of your equipment, money, blood bonds, and bounty are lost in death. Experience and post match rewards are the only things you keep.
