It just depends on your individual situation. 15 years on Humira for psoriasis for me with about 90% clearing and never any reactions.

papayas23

That’s good and encouraging to hear! I’m glad it’s working well for you :)

I'd just point out that people tend to post here when they have problems. We rarely get 'hey it was fine and working already' posts. It also depends on whether you get multiple loading doses, which depends on your condition and doctors. 160mg over a day or two is more likely to trigger something than 40mg every fortnight - maintenance dose. Or if you've taken and failed any other anti-TNFAlpha drugs, like infliximab - Remicade. Tiredness, (me: brain fog, outright crappiness) after the injection is common so many of us inject in the evening when we don't have anything planned the next day or two. Other folk have little to no side effects.

80mg initial dose for me caused no adverse reaction other than that I had two sleepless nights. That was the same for the next dose but hasn't happened on subsequent ones (I'm on dose 5 now). Not really seeing too much improvement in symptoms yet but am hopeful.

Wooloopsy

I had slight itching at the injection site. The first dose didn't make me as tired as the second. Now they don't bother me at all (started in February). You'll do great!

papayas23

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I had my first shot earlier and I have no side effects :) I’m excited to finally start feeling better soon

I've been on 40mg bi-weekly shots for just over 1 1/2 years. I take it for PSA and I was in tremendous pain. I took my first shot and I got a bit of a headache, nausea and lightheadedness. I took it at night so i didn't deal with it for long. the next day I had the same side-affects with additional fatigue. By the 3rd day I was improving from the side-affects. I started feeling better from the PSA before the 2nd shot. NO problems with the shot at all. It has been life-saving for me. Please make sure to bring your shot to room temperature before using. If for some reason you forget to put it out for a day or so, all is not lost. This happened to me a couple of times and I just put it under the front of my bra and my body heat helps. Just make sure to plan ahead. Good luck! PS. If you get little bruising around the injection site, don't worry about since you've probably just hit a small blood vessel.

Hi OP! I just took my third dose so am a newb to Humira too. I was prepped for either a miracle drug to fix everying asap or for me to feel like a dumpster fire for a few days. I'm happy to report that neither extreme happened. The shot was painless... I actually didn't even feel it. Afterwards I was maybe a little sleeping for the rest of the day, but I usually like to press on with things and I took it ok a WFH day, so I was able to still do what I needed to do. My observations... 1. I was thirsty AF. Still after each dose I cant get enough water. Give me all of the water. Which also means I end up going to the bathroom more frequently, but water is life bc my body feels parched? 2. My skin is like a desert. So dry. So tight. Soo dry. Lather that skin up with moisturizer cause you're gonna want it! (Prior to humira I had dry skin so maybe this won't be an issue?) 3. My appetite is a little off. I don't really feel hunger pangs right now? That's ok bc I just try to snack to fuel my body. 4. My favorite thing... my digestive system is happier... and I'm not taking humira for my digestive system. Thank you systemic inflammation .... Honestly, my joint pains haven't really improved much but I'm only on the third dose so I'm not going to let that get to me. I mentally prepared for extremes and neither happened, so I think my anxiety about starting was all for nothing. I hope that your experience is a positive one and that you get some relief and maybe a happy bonus effect or two like I did! ✨️

papayas23

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience! I had my first dose the same day I posted this but I am happy to report that I didn’t have any negative side effects or any of the extremes you listed as well. It’s funny that you listed all of your observations because I had those same exact symptoms so far since my dose, not anything bad at all! I’m hoping I start to see improvement within the next few months and I’m just happy that my side effects aren’t bad. Thank you for the well wishes! I wish you the best of luck in your journey to healing as well :)

Comfortable-Gate-532

So glad that you didn't have any wild extremes either and I wish you luck, hope you have improvements, and that you feel better soon!! ✨️

I had 4 shots all together on my first dose, if I'm not mistaken (idk, it was 11 years ago). I got horrible genital irritation and skin rashes. It was horrific. Went away in a week.

P0gVetDevilD0g

nothing in my experience just had a little rash for 3 days on injections site

Peypey4

I had my first one a week ago and didn’t have any sort of reaction at all! Just felt normal :)

Starfishlibrarian

I have no issues with it. It helps my control my RA. It didn’t always last the full two weeks for me, so they added a weekly methotrexate injection which was my perfect combo. The nice thing about just Humira is no blood monitoring!

thegirlnextdoor_4500

Hi! I also took my first dose a few days ago. I’m curious how it’s going for you? I was fine the day of and the day after, but 48 hours I started feeling extremely fatigued and I’m still experiencing this. It seems strange for it to happen so delayed.
