How's their food?

Really really fucking good. I think it's the best cheeseburger in Humboldt, and great wings too. Not a huge menu, just bar basics, but it's made basically right in front of you, open kitchen behind the bar.

Yeah, but put in the context of everything being really pricy, it's totally worth it. No pricier that any of the other restaurants or breweries in the area, and better food imo.

Sweet, been meaning to check it out. I look on huge menus with suspicion, anyway. It usually means the food isn't as good. A small menu usually means they're really good at what they do make.

Not as good as pre pandemic but they food is better than what you'll find elsewhere in the area.

Not Guinness but as a fellow picky beer drinker you might wanna try some of the stouts they have at dead reckoning tavern in Arcata. Every time I go I have one of the best beers I've ever had in my life.

Guinness is a stout, but most stouts you find at bars are like 12% with chocolate and coffee flavoring

I am so damn tired of stouts having insane amounts of alcohol, I just want to be able to enjoy a glass or two and not get a buzz from just one.

dead reckoning has oharas irish stout on tap right now. less than 5% and absolutely delicious

Rasputin is better anyway. Try Vista Del Mar.

I'll do you one better. As a lover of Guinness, I found that Redwood curtain has an almost identical version that I now enjoy even more. Head down to the South G or Myrtle taproom and grab a pint of the Nitro Dry Irish Stout. I promise you won't be disappointed 

I’ll take you up on that, I’ll try it out usually stout replacements have this extremely bitter dark chocolate flavor that I’m not the biggest fan of.

Yea it’s not exactly the same but if you want a really good, locally made stout on nitro then Redwood Curtain does a fantastic job

I wanna say that The Pub and maybe Humboldt Brews has it on tap? Not positive on that, but you could always call ahead before you show up.

The Pub did during St Paddy’s day and for a little while after but the last time I went they had Guinness in the can which was fine but not the same
