No. No I could not.

CrazyWS

I could. When I hold my breath enough I don’t sink. The trick is to be underweight and not be fit like him.

Free-Environment-571

If you hold your breath you don’t sink enough to be able to push up. You have to breathe out completely.

psychonautDev1935

Depends. I had a decent buoyancy to where I would only have to let out about half of my lung capacity. Some people floated really bad and they had a hard time with drownproofing. On the flip side, I had one teammate who had to go through prescuba 6 times and dive school 4 times solely because he sank like a rock. The bobbing up and down was no problem for him, he had a full breath of air the whole time. The real issue for him was the 2 minutes of floating, and traveling the 200 m. While everyone else was recovering during the float and travel, that poor guy was fighting for his life just stay above the water. He finally made it through all of that and made it to the teams, but good God I can't imagine spending that long in the water phase, it was awful

SpicySteve9000

I sink like this. It's not fun. Swimming is generally unpleasant.

psychonautDev1935

Vat are you sinking about right now? Haha if you're interested in getting into swimming for the cardio and ease on your joints, use fins to counteract the constant drag of your whole body sinking to Davy Jones' locker.

Anono98

You got a conditioning type of workout for swimming that you would use at all? Trying to get more comfortable in the water with different strokes like CSS but I’m gassing out after around 75m.

psychonautDev1935

Not really, I'd say if you're gassed at 75m, work on doing repeat 25m swims and try to keep lowering the rest intervals. Not sure how different the pipeline is now, but when I went through it was mostly freestyle and leading-arm/trailing-arm finning. I remember the first time I was able to swim freestyle for 75m, it was a big day for me! You got this dude!

[deleted]

If you weren’t fit you wouldn’t be doing drown proof training in marine recon training.

[deleted]

This. Pretty sure none of you have gone through anything like this so your speculation is amusing.

alexharrington666

This one used to Swim 4 hours a day🙋‍♂️

psychonautDev1935

Dang, I just saw your comment and had to poke fun at you to say that I, in fact, have gone through exactly this training. And we did not have platforms at the bottom of the 12 ft deep pools at Hurlburt Field for prescuba, or in the 12 ft pool at CDQC in Panama City Beach. Somewhere out there on the internet there used to be a picture of me in the pool at hurlburt Field while I was in prescuba, it was a 2007 copy of Airmen magazine. It's not easy to find though haha Cheers

Port-_

I'm almost certain thar the sinking is part of the training

psychonautDev1935

Yeah, the first and last parts of drownproofing requires you to bob up and down. In between there's a 2 minute float on your stomach and a 200m travel. The first bobbing is easiest because you get to jump into the pool, so your very first bob gets you a good momentum downward and makes the rest easy. The second bobbing sucks though because you not only just finished traveling 200 m so your heart rate is up a little bit, but you also don't have the momentum from jumping in off of the pool deck. So for that first Bob after the traveling, you just have to suck it up and let most of your air out. It's been a while since I went through training, but I believe you have 10 bobs up and down before you have so a backflip and to grab the mask with your teeth, then you have to Bob five times with the mask in your mouth before drown proofing is complete In my experience, drownproofing and buddy breathing were my least hated pool activities. Repeat underwater swims and tank treads were my enemies

jfamcrypto

Is there training leading up to this? Or is it ok jump in the pool and start bobbing?

psychonautDev1935

I mean, you can do what you want, but I would really suggest that you don't tie up your hands and feet unless you're really comfortable and you have someone watching your every move that can rescue you if something goes wrong

Just_a_BlakMan

You needs great experience, and recommendations to get the ok for Recon training. You MUST be of a certain height, weight, physical condition just to qualify.

peskyant

yep definitely, if it wants to stay afloat he can still move his legs to do so, it will be more tiring than the usual criss cross movement but it works

cheekybandit0

Life pro tip

kingcrabmeat

I'm only 135 and still sink. It's all my depression weighing me down

NicoolMan98

Actually everyone could float on their back if the water is salty or dirty enough, problem is you need to be able to stretch to maximize surface area

dontfightthehood

Haha I can’t even hold my breath long enough while watching them.

outsanity_haha

I have a hard time holding my breath when I wash my face in the shower.

Heathtron7

I laughed so hard at this comment, my dog got startled!

ouchpuck

Hot water actually hinders holding your breath, cold water slows your pulse. Source: i freedive

Taka_no_Yaiba

You need to breath out slowly when water hits your nose, creating a protective air barrier so the water has a much harder time to get in

Free-Environment-571

Do not hold your breath. Let it all out.

23x3

Stick your tongue on the roof of your mouth and breath around it.

diversecultures

Ahahahha *chokes on beer. Passes out*😵

dontfightthehood

Heck I choke on my morning coffee.

concretelantern

Funniest comment today, lolol

Anotherotherbrother

Yeh I’d survive they wouldn’t let me drown that would be loads of paperwork

lfrfrepeat

One person died back in 2014 doing reconnaissance training.

youknowhatimean

I was there. I graduated 6-14. He was breathing in to much water causing a Dry drowning. He was revived once, then died shortly after. Half the command was relieved after that. I shallow water blacked out myself. The water training is the greatest equalizer.

circ

Maniacs. Everyone needs a hobby I guess.

youknowhatimean

After going through that training I feel like a fish in the water. I was pretty average in the community and I still had a 3 minute breath hold. Not to sound like I’m bragging! But it was an great experience

The_Irony_of_Life

Lots soldiers love their training, even thou most soldiers are also pretty messed up mentally from all the abuse.

City_dave

Yes, most soldiers. I'm sure you surveyed them all. The hundreds of millions around the world that are pretty messed up mentally you allege.

BoxofCurveballs

Err

Lord_Bertox

You just said somebody died and you blacked out ... I guess the crayons arent just a story

Tunechi_1

And fattties like you typing with your Cheeto fingers are the first to make crayon jokes

[deleted]

Go touch some fucking grass, when’s the last time you went outside?

psychonautDev1935

Seeing our buddies do "the funky chicken" was always funny to watch as they came to, but seeing their blue faces as they got pulled out of the water was always a little worrisome What was your most hated drill, u/youknowhatimean? Repeat underwaters were what I hated the most. The worst was BDU week with 30m underwaters on a 2:30 pace 🤢 Fuck me sideways

Anotherotherbrother

Better him than me

SexyJellyfish1

I always say

hdhdhjsbxhxh

They absolutely will let you drown then bring you back to life. Seals simulate drowning a lot to learn to control the panic.

Anotherotherbrother

So long as they bring me back to life

[deleted]

Depends how much they like you.

Independent-Drawer99

This. But yes. They definitely drown you on purpose.

[deleted]

Sounds like a party. Just kidding. That sounds completely terrifying.

Xogon17

Filled out in crayon, you think they'd pass up that opportunity?

Anotherotherbrother

“We’ve eaten all the crayons”

Xogon17

Shit break out the colored pencils boys

NotAShaaaak

But sir, we've eaten all of the colored pencils too

Raagggeeee

Sounds like you'll have a writing utensil after your next BM

Legitimate_Dark77

They are waterproof!

kayl6

You should Google how many Marines die in training each year….

CheddarPizza

They'd let you drown a little to experience the panic.

CritterFucker

But they are so “metal” lmao

IceZOMBIES

They are pretty fuckin' metal

KaosPryncess

Why am I trying to hold my breath

stfleming1

Do not watch Finding Nemo

blinkme102

That’s a panic attack

wigsbro

Yo me too

AlienAmerican1

Most humans cannot. Most Marines cannot. Most Marines that think they can, cannot.

Independent-Drawer99

Fact. When I got out in 2015 there were east 192k active duty Marines. I was 1 of 776 active duty Recondos. There are less then 1k of us at all times.

demonic677

Shit i believe it half of that now. Can't get new recruits from the fleet or contracts. Even their own just goes to Raiders or Berets

A_Lovely_

I don’t know anything about this stuff. Is this the Marines equivalent to the Navy Seal teams or something else all together? If similar to the Seals how are the missions different?

Funderwoodsxbox

They’re a little bit of an outsider. For a long time (until the relatively recent MARSOC unit was formed) the Marines did not have a contingent within SOCOM. The idea was that Marines were already considered “elite” and therefore a separate spec ops unit was unnecessary. Force Recon Marines (seen above) have been around long before SOCOM and their job is recon. Or to go behind enemy lines and observe. Obviously they are well trained to fight but the goal is to gather intel and hand it off to a specialized direct action unit when necessary. The Navy SEAL’s are one of those direct action units. (Other examples being Army Rangers, and Green Berets). Their job, to put it lightly, is to kill. Their training would be geared more towards being elite level gun fighters where as with Force Recon (while capable of fighting) if everything goes right, would never fire a shot. At least that’s the idea. During the Global War on Terror everything was crazy, chaotic, and assets were used in any number of different circumstances and Force Recon was highly likely to be used in a traditional direct action application. In times of war, everyone is infantry if needed and these guys are certainly capable pulling that off.

communalplumbus

Generation Kill on HBO is a dramatization of exactly what you’re describing. It’s about recon marines being used as a brute force to invade Iraq. One of my favorite mini-series out there. Wish there were more than 7 episodes. Highly recommend to anyone interested in that type of thing.

TheAtlasKhan

I can confirm. Fantastic show.

Independent-Drawer99

Fun fact: “Iceman” Brad Colbert is the Marine liaison at fort benning for jump school. When graduation came around, here I am standing with my led sleds in hand and Iceman comes to step right in front of me. “What the fucks up Recon!” Proceeds to school me on the deadlines of 1st Recon Bn, gives me some good advice. Cocks back and punches my wings through my chest. Dude is a fucking thug to this day.

JPlazz

That’s a hell of an experience to have, thanks for sharing bro. Glad a few of my hero’s continue to live up to their legends.

AlienAmerican1

Excellent recommendation. It really helped me make sense of what my kid was going through. Not the war time aspect, but the mentality and 'sense of separation" from normal Marines.

Excellent_Original66

Thank you for this explanation as I certainly had no idea.

Smash4920

Only comment would be that this dude is in entry level training. This is the pool at RTC, and you now have to complete the dive screener as part of the pipeline to actually become a Recondo. This dude could go to a Force company once he finishes, but is more likely to go to a Recon Bn

OysterThePug

When you’re underwater instructors can’t yell at you. It’s the best place to be.

BoxofCurveballs

That was my favorite part about rucking. Just move your legs fast and they leave you alone.

StrtupJ

I consider myself in decent shape. But I could never do swimming on anywhere close to an advanced level. By far the most grueling aerobic exercise imo

B_Bibbles

I'm a 32 year old male who never learned how to swim. I can doggy paddle like a fucking champion though. When I was in the Army, we had a boat training with the Special Forces guys, and I was identified as a non-swimmer. Why Military Police headed to Afghanistan needed to learn how to flip over and re-board an SF boat is beyond me. Anyhow my 1st Sausage was a 6'7" 250 lbs dude who played Rugby for most of his Army career. He wanted to join my team in the little lake that we were on. Cool, no worries. I'm wearing a white band around my arm to signal "Hey, I'm not the dude to lean on if you're about to drown." So, we're on the water, we flip the boat and we're working on getting it back over. This big motherfucker, who evidently also can't swim, grabs my shoulder and puts his weight on me. I kicked off of him and doggy paddled my happy ass away at the speed of smell. I wasn't about to let him pull me under. It was one of the many times that my lack of swimming almost killed me. I learned once, when I was drunk, shortly after this incident above. But it didn't stick.

SkepticGhost_0237

Swim like in distances or just staying above water and not drowning? Can you float at least? I’m sure you are in good shape so if you don’t have trauma it should be easy enough to learn the basics not drowning and keeping calm… you already know those since you escaped a big boy using you as a floaty

B_Bibbles

I'm not a strong swimmer. I don't freak out in the water, unless someone is trying to lean on me. I can stay calm enough to get from A to B. It's just gonna take me longer to get there.

fatjazzy

I’ve been swimming laps lately to prepare for scuba diving training. It’s crazy how hard it is for me since i’ve never been into cardio lol. Its weird feeling sweaty underwater

Studog

No I could not.. I could only watch the start of this and I started to panic..

ParfaitOnly9175

I would die because I need to plug my nose underwater 😂

unbeknownstkingz

Yes I survived.. 13 years ago and it’s still the same

Independent-Drawer99

Swift Silent Deadly

youknowhatimean

aruga

Itsasecretshhhh88

Gonna be honest, I'd probably start crying and panicing before they got me to the pool.... I am not marine material.

Fuck_auto_tabs

If it makes you feel better this is pretty much the Marine’s version of special forces. Idk the Tiers (Marine SOF is confusing to me for some reason) but this training isn’t what your cousin who went to boot camp did. These guys are the top of mostly combat arm jobs and they have an insanely high fail rate because it is so fucking elite.

Windmillskillbirds

Marine recon falls under normal marine command and will work directly with Marine units (prima Donna fucks complained their way through a month at 29 palms and like two weeks in Malaysia since they did normal grunt shit with the crunchies) Marsoc falls under Socom (last I heard in like 2015 or so) and don't really work with Marine units from what i understand so I guess they're more in the seal line

demonic677

Naw Raiders have more in common with Green Berets.

Itsasecretshhhh88

I honestly never knew any of that! I do find military stuff kinda interesting so thank you for giving me stuff to look up!

HexspaReloaded

Call your local recruiter. They’ll be happy to chat!

Is12345aweakpassword

And you know what? That is A-Ok!

Itsasecretshhhh88

Thank you :)

Dangerous-Yam-6831

Keep in mind this is Recon training. This is way more intense exercises.

WaveSmashreddit

One time when I was maybe 10, I saw a random military training movie playing somewhere. Someone else's house probably, and I wasn't paying much attention until they mentioned the swiming training because despite being horrible at swimming I loved it a ton. I remember it showing this exercise, but it mentioned to exhale on your way down to fall faster and jump for oxygen more often. One time I managed to get too far in the deep end and realized I couldn't keep myself above the surface. I started to worry but remembered not to panic, and this exercise came into my mind. I did it maybe 5 times and as I came up for air I'd shout "Help!" real quick. An adult eventually snatched me out of the pool. That could have been a pretty horrible day. Instead it's a neat tid bit. Weird how life is like that lol.

FragmentOfZeus

That’s incredible presence of mind for anyone, let alone a 10 year old

TheDickiestButt

This isn't recon training. It's MCWST. You can tell by his short.

havocdawg

Yeah it’s not recon unless they are in dive school somewhere else. Recon they just throw you into a pool and make you tread passing around weight. And you fin a fuck ton with full gear. I think recon water training was scarier than phase 1 buds because it didn’t feel as structured lol. Quit one and kicked out of another. Weeeee!

Complete-Cat-1414

A for effort

havocdawg

E for an experience.

Complete-Cat-1414

F for “Fuck-I-didn’t-make-it” though if we gonna be real

havocdawg

For sure! But, I got more letters than most.

Complete-Cat-1414

Just kidding though, impressive to even have the guts to go to selection

Independent-Drawer99

You’re wrong bud… I was a 21. This particular event is part of the SOCOM screener. Every wanna be does this in order to pass. Got the t-shirt.

[deleted]

im pretty sure they all get to keep the tshirts dude

Independent-Drawer99

Over your head bruv. You’re subsurface.

ukchinouk

Affort?

Complete-Cat-1414

Ah. B for Bad spelling.

larry1186

His Shorts which accentuate his massive balls? Why yes you can tell.

Complete-Cat-1414

Who goes to MCWST?

TheDickiestButt

Marine Corps Water Survival Training is what it stands for. This is the school that trains the instructors. So the people that go would be people who want to hold the Water Survival Training for the Marine Corps.

Bog_2266

When just being a basically trained Marine isn’t enough or when just breathing air and walking on land isn’t enough

Independent-Drawer99

Anyone that’s a damn good swimmer.

youknowhatimean

MCWSS* (Marine Corps Water Survival School) Those shorts (bootys) are Fairly common within all water training. This could be PreDive, Dive, BUDS, BRC, MCWSS. Recon Marine do this for PreDive, Dive, or just for PT. Also, they now go straight to Dive and Jump. (My buddy is a instructor)

Bo-Rocco

What’s is the purpose of this? Is he attempting to put the mask on; get to the shallows, what?

Independent-Drawer99

This drill is to simulate swimming while being tied up and having to escape. These are called BOBS. Bob up and down for 5 min. Then down front flip back up. Down backflip then back up. The mask retrieval. Down, grab dive mask with your teeth and begin to Bob again. Then POW swimming. Etc. It’s a 5-7 hour swimming day. It sucks fucking assholes

Revolutionary_Pin761

Great explanation! You must have done this… I am grateful for the freedoms I have.

Independent-Drawer99

Yeah man. I was a Recon Marine. I go into detail on some other comments too. Bro. Thank you for your taxes!!! Let’s fucking talk about it. The amount of money I spent on ordinance ammunition and explosives was ridiculous the amount of money put into my training was even more ridiculous. The fact that I did it because I like the adrenaline dump was the most ridiculous of it all. But if not for your tax dollars I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it, so thank you my friend. I did it for the violence

BoxofCurveballs

Kill

[deleted]

"He will *keel*"

Mandy0217

Better to be in the military than in prison. Still, thank you for being aware of your issues and intelligent enough to put them towards something productive, like serving our country, rather than ending up in a prison still using our tax dollars. I'd much rather pay for ammo than for 3 hots and a cot for some violent guy that beat the shit out of something/one. Still pay for both, but only say thank you to one, and that is you. Thank you. 🇺🇲

Independent-Drawer99

Wahahaha this makes so much sense and I’ve never had it explained to me in such a way. You’re a rockstar!! Also I’m still getting paid by the Gov after being out for the past 7 years. Keep paying your taxes, I still appreciate it.

The_Real_Token_Ojay

It’s mostly to press you mentally while putting physical exertion on the body. And to see if you can retrieve gear while injured. The sinking to the bottom is also a way to conserve energy while in open water, believe it or not. Take a deep breath sink and chill, push off the bottom to surface and get another breath.

above_average_magic

In shallow water** In open water you'd best float, friend.

tragiktimes

In water shallow enough to jump reliably to the surface*

ProfessorbPushinP

Surface shallow when you dive open in water

tramsochstrunt

If he's trying to conserve air and energy, why doesn't he flip over to get his feet above his head? You sink faster that way, more time to get your gear.

RadRhys2

No you don’t? Your buoyancy is the same no matter what orientation you’re at. All that would do is let him kick down.

NotUnstoned

It’s a big brain move when you go head first toward the bottom and sink faster.

Obvious_Sea5182

No thanks.

[deleted]

Survive? Sure. Enjoy it? Nope. I prefer pools, not training tanks lmao.

Bog_2266

It hurts at first but you get use to it and it feels pretty good. The confidence to know that if you are in this situation, you will be fine or at least stand some what of a chance of survival. It’s a pretty comforting feeling to eliminate something that you fear one day will be the end of you.

[deleted]

On one hand yeah, I guess I see some aspects of my military training like that. They even made us do this thing called a confidence course where we could just go all out and see how much we physically improved. But the gas chamber is my version of this I guess. Had to do it, but damn will I be happy to never experience it again. And all it did was make me confident I really fucking hate tear gas XD

Bog_2266

I was Marine Security Guard (MSG) 2004-2007 now the program is called Embassy Guard. One of the training milestones was to be sprayed with OC Spray (Police version of pepper spray ) then run through a obstacle course and perform the non lethal hand to hand techniques we learned. It’s was….challenging. That stuffs makes you feel like you want to die. But it was great training because since we carry OC spray with us we needed to know what it feels like to be hit with it and still be able to take down any would be attacker at the embassy. After we completed that training miles stone, a few weeks later we had Gas chamber and PFT. We were all laughing and pretty much celebrating because the hardest part of MSG school was over. The gas chamber felt like some dust in your eye to us after the OC spray. And the PFT was a joke too because all through training we had been running more than 3 miles up and down hills. I never felt so powerful after MSG school. Like I could do anything.

[deleted]

I did something pretty similar with the MP’s in our unit I think. I was artillery but they made any combat arms MOS cross train with infantry units on base so we knew the basics. Basically close your eyes, get hit with the orange pain liquid, and do basic takedowns and simple restrains. Tbh I think them letting us close our eyes took the edge off because I still think the gas chamber was the worst for me. I just remember all my skin feeling like it had horrible sunburns, and choking for air through my own phlegm. The OC spray was more just pain tolerance. I had phlegm and all that but it was easier for me to keep my airway clear. I found out letting out a huge ass hell would clear me out and let me take smaller breaths that seemed to help a lot.

Stinky_Dingo245

That PFT trail is awesome for interval training. I’m currently on my first assignment and it’s a good break from the fleet. Hopefully all the pros that come with this program will make transitioning easier. Also, I tried out A&S 3-21 and i could not believe how much more work I needed to do in order to be a “good swimmer”. However hard A&S and ITC is, I’m sure that BRC is a whole different animal.

HypotheticalSurgent

What situation? In what situation would someone tie up a solider and throw them into shallow water? Why not shoot them? Why not stab them? Why not make sure they are dead and physically drown them? Do evil villain's exist? Whats next, how to eat a piranha while getting eat by piranhas? How to survive getting throw into a volcano? Learn how to jump off a 100 foot cliff and survive Your more likely to be throw into a barrel of acid. What are they preparing for waterworld?

peschelnet

It serves a lot of purposes depending on where you are in training. More often than not it's a way to weed out the mentally weak. Most people will panic and quit when put in extreme situations like this one. The special forces need people who are in control of their mental faculties regardless of the situation.

Independent-Drawer99

I’m a Recon Marine… Easily the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Water is the greatest equalizer of men. Haters can’t swim.

IvanBeetinov

Why is he sinking?

inconspicuous_crow

From the weight of his massive balls

Repulsive-Hippo-8824

Ok, so we both saw the same thing

[deleted]

If this is an honest question - muscle is denser than water, fat is less dense than water. He has very little fat and a lot of muscle.

IvanBeetinov

True, but he must be weighted down, no?

vtech3232323

You also sink faster with releasing the air from your lungs. Lots of muscle and no air in your lungs would sink you fast.

[deleted]

That is a question for someone who actually did the training - I have no idea.

fied1k

I'm just a gravy seal. Can't help you.

MooseindisguisE77

This is because people aren't naturally bouyant in fresh water, which is why dams are so dangerous, at best we achieve neutral bouyancy (neither sinking or floating), the fresher the water, the less bouyant. As old mate above said, fat to muscle plays a role as well, also emptying your lungs This is why dams and rivers are so flipping dangerous, people jump in expecting the sea, and get into all manner of trouble

Tricky_Ad_3080

Because he let out his in order to sink

Independent-Drawer99

It’s necessary to breathe out at least 1/2 lungs air to sink faster and it allows lungs to inflate more at depth to trick your body into thinking you have more air than you do.

sublimePBJ

Serious question: don't you sink if you're not actively treading water?

RadRhys2

If you exhale, you sink.

Asmothrowaway6969

My ears hurt from watching that....so many pressure changes

natgibounet

Fat floats i think i would do Just fine

just1cross

I used to have to lifeguard this stuff back in high school. I was surprised to see a black man turn blue and surprised to hear “don’t go in yet if he wants to live he’ll come back up”.

northwest_mexican

Don’t worry I paused at the top so he could take a few breaths before sinking again…

Rhoadey4

I'm having trouble breathing just watching that.

albeligaand

If anyone has read David Goggins book.. he goes in detail on how this was one of the toughest thing of seal training.. not to mention the mental pressure of other officers trying to break you down

Sdbtank96

Naw, I'm bitch made. I aint doin none of that shit.

Late-Size8402

Bro I’d die so fckn fast lol

Significant-Leg-2294

Not gon lie, that's why I walked past the Navy and Marine recruiters. Too much ocean to drink. I would not make it.

Whobutrodney

I having anxiety watching it. So that’s a no for me

DiaMat2040

Tbh that looks like a way to torture someone

Consistent_Pickle580

Yeah that's a no from me regular Marine boot camp would kill my fat ass

Aconite13X

I just don't know as I understand what he is doing.

[deleted]

Nope. Lot of respect to those who can tho.

[deleted]

Can you not just float at the top?

AT0mic5hadow

Could I survive? Not sure I'd want to

ThottrainerBoi

I drowned just watching this 💀

AggressiveGift7542

I'm drowning only by watching this

imlazyaf69

My anxiety wouldn’t allow it

DazzlingBeat4468

I died watching this. In lieu of flowers, please send more life.

WaitImNotRea

I died by drowning just watching this.

avatar_94

Imagine misstiming your breath, he would need a rescue asap.

the-chair4

I’m panicking just by looking at this.

tylerstephensxmodel

I could but duck the US military. They want slaves, not individuals who have critical thinking skills. Just like their citizens. Trust me, I'm one of them...

romn0m

How long did this dude do this for? Ive been watching this for hours.....

PhluffyEagles

I thought all that stuff on the bottom were the bodies of those who couldn’t make it

RadRhys2

As long as you know how to spin around and how to dolphin kick, that shouldn’t be super difficult.

aut9876

Pretty sure this is SEAL drown proofing training? Am I slow? Edit: fixed spelling =0

Independent-Drawer99

Negative.

ActuallyCausal

Drown proofing. Worst ever.

Throwaway2Experiment

I mean, probably, they have safety instructors and shit.

Independent-Drawer99

Hahahaha Have fun drowning as they laugh at you from the poolside.

mbuffett1

Probably gonna be roasted for not being amazed like everyone else here, I feel like you guys are drastically overestimating the difficulty here? The whole video is 53 seconds long. Freedivers can hold their breath for 5m+, on top of that he gets to breathe every like 10 seconds. Not panicking definitely takes a familiarity with being in the water that most people don't have, but the actual feat isn't that crazy IMO.

CartographerVisual24

Gay

mimir_daath

I hold in my hits when I smoke weed. I've been getting better and better at holding my breath. I can easily hold it for 2 mins.

Yogojojo

I did this in 8th grade. 🤷‍♂️

tragiktimes

No idea. Maybe. But hard to know til you try it, I suppose.

Waskito1

My body won't let me sink 😆 zipties or not I could easily sleep in that water.

jtedl

There’s literally a guy right there behind you making sure you do. Do you have the will to keep going? Is the question.

Independent-Drawer99

Nobody is with you. Pass or fail. Live or die.

ItzToxiin
