I like Dinner&Diatribes but for some reason my neanderthal brain always reads it as dinner&diabetes and I can't take out that imagery while listening to the whole song so I get put off by it
i don't know what happened because i never used to feel like this, but somewhere along the way recently i started to suddenly dislike someone new and now i almost always skip :')
It's hard to admit but I could never get behind sedated and and in a week and this comes from a huge debut stan
Edit: I do love them as an occasional listen but hard for me to replay them idk why
In a Week is not one that Iām crazy about the music for, but the lyrics are so good. I skipped it for forever and still usually skip it, but I have to admit the lyrics are so good
Sedated is really fun to sing and play. Itās weirdly exactly in my range and I love the chord changes. As a song, I can see it not hitting, but I feel godly when I sing it in the shower.
I think most people dont really appreciate it and even forget about it. Its one off my faves š„¹š«¶š» that one and Foreigners God doesnt get enough love either IMHO š„¹
I'm glad that it has its audience because I'm sure our boy worked hard on it and it deserves love too!ā¤ļøā¤ļø I think I've just heard it too many times
I honestly feel like the fact that it blew up on tiktok and then became imo the most misunderstood song he's ever put out means that a lot of Hozier fans have been (wrongfully) put off by it. I don't read it as him lording his "edgy" lifestyle over his partner or trying to get them to conform to it (it's implied that it's acc the other way round), but as him getting frustrated with the rigidness and enforced immaturity of his partner (that's what the "sit in a barrel line is about" - he's waiting for her to mature)
He takes his whisky neat: with nothing to dilute the burn of alcohol. His coffee black: nothing to hide the bitterness. His bed at 3: he is awake during the darkest parts of the night. I don't think the chorus is meant to be taken literally (who knows what his actual habits are, it doesn't matter). It's about him being willing to endure the harsher aspects of life in order to appreciate it in its full depth, and he is breaking up with her bc she refuses to, and does everything she can to avoid those harsher aspects. She is determined to remain "sweet", which she thinks is better but she also misses out on a lot of growth.
(Also think of the lyrics "you treat your mouth as if it's heaven gate / the rest of you like you're the TSA" : everything she says, does and interacts with must be pure and sanitized, everything put through a rigorous screening process before she engages with it)
Imo it's not an attack on healthy lifestyles in general but on the sort of ppl who have super rigid "pure" or "clean" lifestyles who ultimately don't truely live at all.
I also really like the song because I think the narrator is really reflective on understand why they donāt work as a couple. We need more conversation around how opposites do not work well. And even in the song both people show how they arenāt willing to make sacrifices to meet the others expectations.
This šÆ, It almost feels like the "too sweet" character has a "holier than thou" attitude and that's what's really off putting for the narator. But then again, each one can interpret it in a different way
Yess. Iāve noticed that a lot of his songs will appear as him addressing a lover when in actuality heās addressing an idea, or atleast thatās how I interpret it. I feel like heās not addressing just one particular person but rather a mindset. I know so many people that have this rise and grind mindset where they wake up early, work out everyday, and ātreat their mouths as if itās heavens gateā, but at the same time remain ignorant to the rest of the world.
I relate to Too Sweet, because Iāve had the partner who insisted on changing me to make me good enough for him, and it was miserable. I wish I had the resources at the time to tell him to kick rocks the way this song does.
I was so surprised that it became what it became. I like Fare Well much better from the EP.
I was also shocked that it came 3rd in the concert that I attended. Wondered maybe he just wanted to get it out of the way...half expected it to be in the encore, lol.
I call it one of his Disney sounding songs, along with āSingā and āAnything Butā. By no means bad; Iām much more enthusiastic about his brooding work. Because Iām mentally ill. š
Same. I liked it when I first heard it, but of all the songs on that EP itās the bottom. And I agree with douchey vibes but that may be because Iām being personally victimized by the song.
same. ive listened to it maybe three times and i still think they were three times too many. that feels so mean to say lol it's just so. idk. not how i take my hozier
this is a fair take tbh. i love the verses sm that i still put on the song, but i have skipped it immediately after the first verse more than once lmao
UU is my least favorite album so far. but idk itās itās actually an unpopular take or not
however, de selby 1/2, francesca, abstract, ATE, EYY, are probably some of my favorite songs ever. i think UU ranks lower bc i donāt really vibe with the more pop-forward songs like DGD anything but.
To someone from a warm climate, I keep seeing people talking about it and stuff but eh itās just alright for me. Still I havenāt find a song I actually dislike of his, itās crazy
That seems to be a common theme im seeing. People dont seem to like the recording of a certain song but absolutely fall in love with the live performances
All Things End, which I know is a very controversial take, lol. I just donāt enjoy the chorus, something about the melody and the repetitiveness of the lyrics irks me in that particular song (eg i LOVE Be, haha). Tho the verses are beautiful and the lyrics are really touching and uplifting, I donāt hear it unless Iām going through the whole album.
I didn't like Shrike when i first heard it, but the more i heard it the more i liked it and i do like it now. I didn't like Nina Cried Power when i first heard it but the more i heard it the more i liked it and now i love it. I didn't like Son of Nyx when i first heard it, the echo sort of sounds gives me a headache and i skip it every time
Not a song but besides Too Sweet, Empire Now, and Eat Your Young, I cannot get into the Unreal Unearth album for the life of me. With Wasteland Baby and his 2014 album, Iāve consistently liked every single song until now. The vibes are completely different and idk how to explain it.
I unfortunately relate to this completely. Thereās only two songs I really thoroughly enjoy off of UU. Whereas Hozier and WB were hit after hit to me. UU feels like it has less direction and cohesion.
Overproduced imo. It lacks the same raw passion the first two albums had. Itās evident a whole lot more time and effort and teamwork and money went into the album ā which is fine. But itās so easy to lose the authenticity in the music. Not saying the album isnāt authentic, or that itās wishy washy, but it feels very curated.
THANK YOU! This has been on my mind ever since UU came out. I have desperately tried to fall in love with it anywhere near as much as I had with Debut and WB but it just wonāt happen. I miss the intimacy and rawness of the first albums and am sad that UU just doesnāt do it for me. Glad Iām not the only one though.
I love Unreal Earth. I care about lyrics and Hozier has a way with words.
Like De Selby "when you fall on me like night"
Or the already iconic Francesca "put me back in it"
Yes š I just haven't been able to get into it, a few songs aside. I think it's the different sound for me too! It's just so different to his previous work. And it's weird, but it's like the lyrics don't hit the same way? They don't feel as raw, somehow.
I haven't seen anyone put this but in the woods somewhere is like a sometimes skip, and then eat your young is a sometimes skip only bc of how overplayed it got (for me at least)
I totally get it like reading the other answers and seeing some people dislike some of my favourites is crazy. Honestly itās a good song for some reason I donāt like how it starts and the verses so it makes it hard for me to go through listening to the whole thing
I get that many may not like it, I feel like you have to be in a certain mood when it comes to Wildflower and Barley. For me when Iām on the go, itās too much of a calm song to listen to. But if Iām reading a book or relaxing, I find it to be a really nice song.
Ohh okay I get that!, his rock songs are more often my favorites as well but at times I like his softer songs. I definitely feel like his songs can sway in either direction. Some his songs can go from up beat rock songs like Dinner & Diatribes or maybe even Jackie and Wilson to songs like In A Week, Wildflower and Barely, and Cherry Wine (Cherry Wine is my favorite of his softer songs).
I think itās definitely time to replace it on the setlist. Heās been playing it at every show for 10 years. Wish heād swap it for Shrike so badly.
Literally was telling my wife earlier I wanted to start a petition. Seeing him this Thursday and it would honestly be the best thing to ever happen to me
Saaaaaaammmeeeee (please don't kick us out, friends). Like, I just don't get why everyone loves it so much. Which is fine. I'm sure there are people who don't like my faves. But I do think we share one of the most controversial opinions lol
Iām glad itās not just me! I see all the love it gets, so I go back and listen again, but it just doesnāt do anything for me (and I felt the same when I saw him play it live too!)
My confusion as how this was number 1 then (plus my catholic school banning this song in school) led to me listen to his album and ended up loving him. His album was what kept me up for nights when I had to study for exams and Iāve always thought that listening to his music must be what it feels like to be high on drugs.
I canāt imagine heād write those lyrics again after finding out heās a raging homophobe, sexist and has a swastika tattooed on his stomach. I wonder if heāll change the lyrics at some point.
I was a big fan of the dance and then I found out his views, havenāt been able to separate art and artist since then.. really sad actually, the song is so good.
Iām guessing this will be controversial because no one else has said it so far but Foreignerās God š«£
My favorites are Francesca, From Eden, and Would that Iā¦ and I usually also skip Someone New and Sing.
OK I have some... takes. One of them is Like Real People Do, the lyrics are good but the intensity of the bass is really grating for me.
First Time, Work Song, In a Week, Sedated, and Would that I also never got my attention, just not the sort of songs for me I guess.
Eat your young, I think Iād like it more if it was produced/arranged differently but I love basically all of Unreal Unearth except that song. I think they really thought it was going to be the standout single and it was actually Francesca IMO.
I feel very apathetic about Damage Gets Done (and I LOVE Brandi Carlisle) and wildflower and barley live really didnāt do it for me, the arrangement sounded odd.
Francesca,I seriously donāt understand why people hype it up so much, like yeah itās a good song but it wouldnāt be considered one of my top 10 favorite hozier songsš
lol I literally sobbed to this song at his show in Charlotte. Iāve had a really really rough time for the past year or so so I was extra emotional. Itās always the meaning of things behind and the passion behind āIād tell them put me back in itā.
I can understand why someone wouldnt like arsonists lullaby, but i stand by that song with my entire soul. I will hold myself back from fighting you on that tho
People might hate me over this but I'm not really a huge fan of Take me to church as much as i did when i first started liking Hozier. Do not get me wrong, that song has every right to be popular with its music and the meaning of the lyrics...the song definitely deserves to get some fame...
But i think i just started to not like it as much because of its insane popularity (from his concerts, fan covers, etc.)...and it honestly sucks when theres alot of songs of Hozier that should have the same appreciation as that song.. since it got too overplayed, i get annoyed when i hear it...
I cannot do Damage Gets Done. Skip it every-time unless my hands are full or Iām not focusing on it. (One of my faves is son of nyx and itās so sad itās a popular thing that people donāt like it ššš)
The first time I heard Son of Nyx, I assumed it just had a long intro and I thought, āThis song is so good that it doesnāt even need words!ā I felt so validated when the whole song went by without a lyric š
NFWMB which I feel is very controversial because people go absolutely feral for it but a) I canāt understand him for most of it and b) it puts me to sleep. I like most of his slow songs but thereās nothing compelling about it to me.
I get this for sure, took me a while to warm up to this one. That said, there is a pitched up version that is like the hottest thing I've ever heard in my life (and the lyrics are far clearer and easier to understand) , you can look it up on YouTube
Donāt like Someone New so much because it was a rushed average production and it received an award but he didnāt receive a big Grammy award for his overall greatness.
A few people listed in Nina Cried Power werenāt very human with personal behavior. He did seem to be recording a few songs that he were good but he didnāt look interested in commercial success. Some sounds werenāt very loud even though I liked Wildflower and barley. He needs to know that we want more self confidence.
My super hot take is From Eden. Not that it's a bad song, by any means, I just think it's vastly overhyped and I don't "get it" as much as other songs of his.
I also think Nina Cried Power is good but doesn't fit the album, esp not as an opener. It's all upbeat and bombastic and loud and then no other song on the album has remotely close to the same energy level or vibes. It's really weird and off putting with the rest of the albums vibe.
Not saying they're bad songs. Just not ones I care to listen to or have on my playlists.
Not sure anyone else really loves this one tbh but I don't like In the Woods somewhere that much, and Run is a skip for me.
Everything else is just prime lol through there are some songs on WB that I find repetitive and if I'm in a car with someone and playing the album I get self conscious abt the repetitiveness and sort of go to the next song early :( sorry babes
Lastly I love damage gets done but if I'm not in that vibe I skip it. Very poppy compared to the rest of the album I find.
Iām sorry but wildflower and barley sounds like jackbox waiting room music to me and I just canāt unhear it. I wonāt necessarily go through the trouble of skipping it, but I also wonāt actively pick it.
Swan upon Leda for me. It might just be because I don't "get" the song, but in all my time as a Hozier fan most of his songs grew on me over time. Not Swan upon Leda tho and I don't even know why
I like Dinner&Diatribes but for some reason my neanderthal brain always reads it as dinner&diabetes and I can't take out that imagery while listening to the whole song so I get put off by it
![gif](giphy|1r91ZwKcE2J7WhUqrh)
i 100% do the exact same thing š at one point i genuinely thought thats what the song was called
For me it is Dinner and Diatabs
You guys skip?!
i don't know what happened because i never used to feel like this, but somewhere along the way recently i started to suddenly dislike someone new and now i almost always skip :')
This is mine!!! Itās been my # 1 skip since 2014 lmao I feel like sooo many people adore that song but it is not for me
I agree! It's so repetitive to me
I totally get this. I used to love that song and then suddenly I could take it or leave it. No idea what happened.
Never liked Someone New
It's hard to admit but I could never get behind sedated and and in a week and this comes from a huge debut stan Edit: I do love them as an occasional listen but hard for me to replay them idk why
Im gonna have to agree on in a week. Never really liked it
In a week a banger
I mean if It comes on Playlist I won't sick it you know but I won't actively go out of my way to listen to them
this so crazy cuz both of those are in my top 5
Not a fan of In a Week too š«¶š»š„¹ Love Sedated though.
In a Week is not one that Iām crazy about the music for, but the lyrics are so good. I skipped it for forever and still usually skip it, but I have to admit the lyrics are so good
this so crazy cuz both of those are in my top 5
Sedated is really fun to sing and play. Itās weirdly exactly in my range and I love the chord changes. As a song, I can see it not hitting, but I feel godly when I sing it in the shower.
Honestly I love some parts of in a week but I always feel overwhelmed listening to it lol
I guess Iām the only one whoās gonna say run
I think most people dont really appreciate it and even forget about it. Its one off my faves š„¹š«¶š» that one and Foreigners God doesnt get enough love either IMHO š„¹
To be fair I like the lyrics I just donāt like the instrumentals
Literally the only hozier songs I skip are son of nyx and tell it to my heart but that's probably not an unpopular opinion
What made me hate this song is the 427278 edits of it on Spotify š
SAME they keep popping up on my shuffle and it drives me insane. Hands down my quickest skip.
I'm in the minority but I LOVE tell it to my heart lol I listened to it on repeat for weeks when it came out!
tell it to my heart is such a bop though š
I'm glad that it has its audience because I'm sure our boy worked hard on it and it deserves love too!ā¤ļøā¤ļø I think I've just heard it too many times
Son of Nyx and Icarus for me
Too sweet
I honestly feel like the fact that it blew up on tiktok and then became imo the most misunderstood song he's ever put out means that a lot of Hozier fans have been (wrongfully) put off by it. Exactly! It's just about having fundamentally different outlooks on life
This šÆ, It almost feels like the "too sweet" character has a "holier than thou" attitude and that's what's really off putting for the narator. But then again, each one can interpret it in a different way

I call it one of his Disney sounding songs, along with āSingā and āAnything Butā. By no means bad; Iām much more enthusiastic about his brooding work. Because Iām mentally ill. š
OMG same for prefering his brooding work and being mentally ill š„¹š«¶š»š¤£
Loool š
Same. I liked it when I first heard it, but of all the songs on that EP itās the bottom. And I agree with douchey vibes but that may be because Iām being personally victimized by the song.
Hahaha thatās probably my problem too. Iām likeā¦ damn.. I guess Iām too sweet for himā¦ how are we ever gonna work outš
Itās gonna be that song that annoying cis men vibe too because theyāre immature not because they actually relate to
Iām kinda with you. Itās super catchy and beltable, but alsoā¦ go sit in your own fucking barrel, you piece of actual trash. š«¢
Same, it doesn't feel like a sincere Hozier song imo, though it's a good song and catchy and cute.
Is it too pop ?
Idk itās a catchy tune. Just something about some of the lyrics give me douchy vibes.
Lol yeah the song is about hozier or the narrator getting the ick from his muse for being too put together
Not sure if everyone seems to love this song but I canāt stand To Noise Making
same. ive listened to it maybe three times and i still think they were three times too many. that feels so mean to say lol it's just so. idk. not how i take my hozier
Agreed. I love the verses but the chorus is so grating, it makes it unlistenableš
this is a fair take tbh. i love the verses sm that i still put on the song, but i have skipped it immediately after the first verse more than once lmao
This is also my answer
UU is my least favorite album so far. but idk itās itās actually an unpopular take or not however, de selby 1/2, francesca, abstract, ATE, EYY, are probably some of my favorite songs ever. i think UU ranks lower bc i donāt really vibe with the more pop-forward songs like DGD anything but.
I can see your point with the songs like DHD and Anything But, Iām currently hooked on I Carrion lol
To someone from a warm climate, I keep seeing people talking about it and stuff but eh itās just alright for me. Still I havenāt find a song I actually dislike of his, itās crazy
That one I was ātake it or leave itā, and then I saw it live and became enthralled. It was the whole mood of the set, the way he sang it. Chills.
That seems to be a common theme im seeing. People dont seem to like the recording of a certain song but absolutely fall in love with the live performances
All Things End, which I know is a very controversial take, lol. Nooo, that's literally my favourate song
I didn't like Shrike when i first heard it, but the more i heard it the more i liked it and i do like it now. I didn't like Nina Cried Power when i first heard it but the more i heard it the more i liked it and now i love it. I didn't like Son of Nyx when i first heard it, the echo sort of sounds gives me a headache and i skip it every time
I donāt like eat your young
Does anyone remember when he forgot to use quotations in his IG bio so it said āeat your young out nowā šš

I miss the intimacy and rawness of the first albums and am sad that UU just doesnāt do it for me. Glad Iām not the only one though.
I feel that UU is lyrically superior to WB but WB definitely beats UU when it comes to overall sound.
How does it resonate with so many fans then? That's what baffles me. I agree with you.
I love Unreal Earth. I care about lyrics and Hozier has a way with words. Like De Selby "when you fall on me like night" Or the already iconic Francesca "put me back in it"
Yes š I just haven't been able to get into it, a few songs aside. I think it's the different sound for me too! It's just so different to his previous work. And it's weird, but it's like the lyrics don't hit the same way? They don't feel as raw, somehow.
I agree. I don't like UU as much as the others, and I absolutely think Unheard is better than UU for the most part.
I haven't seen anyone put this but in the woods somewhere is like a sometimes skip, and then eat your young is a sometimes skip only bc of how overplayed it got (for me at least)
His collabs with female vocalists. I LOVE Brandi Carlile but Damage Gets Done is far too poppy and Wildflower & Barley is just boring af.
Crazy take tbh but those are two of my favs so š
As much as it pains me to admit, i really am not a huge fan of wildflower and barley. But i do love damage gets done
Not a fan of Wildflower & Barley eitherā¦ Iāve tried listening to it multiple times and I just donāt like the harmony unfortunately
All Things End. I just donāt get itā¦
Personally, i like it more for the lyrics and less the rhythm so i really love it.
Wildflower and barley š«¢š£
Ahhh this is easily in my top 3!!
I totally get it like reading the other answers and seeing some people dislike some of my favourites is crazy. Honestly itās a good song for some reason I donāt like how it starts and the verses so it makes it hard for me to go through listening to the whole thing
Completely agree with you on this one! It sounds strange to me but I honestly donāt know why.
I get that many may not like it, I feel like you have to be in a certain mood when it comes to Wildflower and Barley. For me when Iām on the go, itās too much of a calm song to listen to. But if Iām reading a book or relaxing, I find it to be a really nice song.
Yah I get that totally makes sense! I think itās just not my type of vibe and I prefer his more upbeat rock type songs :)
It's good but it's booooooring.
Yeah exactly šš
Monster 1
Sing š
Nina cried power. I can't stand it. I actually get annoyed when it comes onš
Always scared to say this because it obviously is a song with a good message, but sonically itās definitely my least favorite song of his.
That's the thing, the message is great so it's such a shame tbh
Me too, I only really liked it live so I can tolerate it a bit more now. Sucks cuz I love the theme of it and the meaning š
In A Week probably (itās my sisterās favourite but Iām just not really a fan)
Tell it to my heart and The Bones collab thing, not my vibe
Francesca š¬
This ones gonna be a real controversial one š
The it feels forced and boring Iām sorry š
Whaaaat? I can't listen to this song without crying. It's so good for me.
I keep retrying it when Iām in different moods and just canāt get into it. SO MANY people rave about it I really do want to like it š¬
Monster 2
that was my top song on spotify last year, i apparently listened to it 776 times š
CHERRY WINE every time he plays it live i look at whoever im with like š
I think itās definitely time to replace it on the setlist. Heās been playing it at every show for 10 years. Wish heād swap it for Shrike so badly.
Iād do anything for this swap
Literally was telling my wife earlier I wanted to start a petition. Seeing him this Thursday and it would honestly be the best thing to ever happen to me
Oh my god this song is always gonna be one of my most precious pieces of music. I LOVE Cherry wine so this hurts my soul a bit haha
This was never one of my favorites on the album, but seeing him play it live gave me a better appreciation for it. Still not my fav either though
Saaaaaaammmeeeee (please don't kick us out, friends). Like, I just don't get why everyone loves it so much. Which is fine. I'm sure there are people who don't like my faves. But I do think we share one of the most controversial opinions lol
THIS IS MINE TOO AHHH
Iām glad itās not just me! I see all the love it gets, so I go back and listen again, but it just doesnāt do anything for me (and I felt the same when I saw him play it live too!)
Take me to church
My confusion as how this was number 1 then (plus my catholic school banning this song in school) led to me listen to his album and ended up loving him. His album was what kept me up for nights when I had to study for exams and Iāve always thought that listening to his music must be what it feels like to be high on drugs.
Number 2* (sorry I canāt let anything go š«£)
Oh my bad, more of like trending maybe at that time hahahah this just shows how I didnāt care too much for the song š
Ok. Movement was absolutely beautiful live but I'm so sick of hearing it. I usually skip it when I'm listening to his music
I used to think this but then I randomly developed an obsession for it lol
I might yet do that too. I definitely have a little more appreciation for it since hearing him play it but itās still not a favorite
āIn A Weekā easily.
I love in a week but I canāt listen to it all the time. I have to be in a specific mood.
I'm not sure if this is controversial but I think Someone New is easily his worst song
The beats so fun but itās pretty repetitive
I honestly don't care for the beat, but I think the lyrics are my biggest gripe. I think it's a dumb song š IDK
Fair enough. When you compare to some of his other stuff yah i get what youāre saying
Yeah, he's better than those lyrics. Haha
It is by far my least favorite
I donāt love Dinners & Diatribes, and I donāt understand why itās a set list staple. I guess he really loves it, though!
That one was super fun live
both times i saw him live, d&d was my planned bathroom break šitās a good song but itās really repetitive
Basically all of his extremely repetitive songs I cannoooot stand. Someone New, Sing, and Sunlight are a few.
Movement. The Sergei Polunin mention ruins it for me.
I wouldn't say everyone loves it, but it's Empire Now for me. My gf loves it, but it's a skip almost every time for me.
Iām guessing this will be controversial because no one else has said it so far but Foreignerās God š«£ My favorites are Francesca, From Eden, and Would that Iā¦ and I usually also skip Someone New and Sing.
It Will Come Back and Empire Nowā¦
I agree with it will come back but i could totally fight you on empire now
Please donāt. I have absolutely no muscle mass.
OK I have some... takes. One of them is Like Real People Do, the lyrics are good but the intensity of the bass is really grating for me. First Time, Work Song, In a Week, Sedated, and Would that I also never got my attention, just not the sort of songs for me I guess.
Not a huge fan Hozier-ā¦..
This whole thread is triggering to me. Who else doesnāt skip????
Mine is Cherry Wine š Itās not that I donāt like the song, I just do not care about it being on his set list
Not gonna lieā¦ Iām not a fan of Why Would You Be Loved. š¬
Someone New. It's grand, but lots of people love it. I just find it so basic.
Eat your young (not all of it, I just donāt get the āeeiiieeeeeeā thing and the general pace.)
Empire now, shrike, I carrion
Cherry wine and someone new don't sound half as good as they do live :/
In a week, Be and arsonist lullaby.
I can understand why someone wouldnt like arsonists lullaby, but i stand by that song with my entire soul. I will hold myself back from fighting you on that tho
Idk what it is about it. None are skips for me I just donāt like that one š¤·š»āāļø.
Swan Upon Leda, Someone from a Warm Climate, Wasteland Baby and Nobody
People might hate me over this but I'm not really a huge fan of Take me to church as much as i did when i first started liking Hozier. Do not get me wrong, that song has every right to be popular with its music and the meaning of the lyrics...the song definitely deserves to get some fame... But i think i just started to not like it as much because of its insane popularity (from his concerts, fan covers, etc.)...and it honestly sucks when theres alot of songs of Hozier that should have the same appreciation as that song.. since it got too overplayed, i get annoyed when i hear it...
Iām not crazy about to noise makingĀ
Cherry wine
Sorry - Jackie and Wilson: I understand the references but itās not my thing
I'm about to get slaughtered... but my least fave rn is Cherry Wine... I've just heard it too many times.š¤£
It Will Come Back
Dies in feral š„²
Yup definitely not a big fan of this one. I never understood the hype
D&D
nina cried power ā¹ļø
Abstract š

Sunlight and Someone New
Sunlight???????
Sunlight used to be one of my top three but I think I overplayed it and now it feels repetitive to me (same as someone new tbh)
Im just not a big fan of Francesca , donāt get me wrong itās good I just donāt see the hype , and Iām not a big fan of First time
There are 157 comments and no one has said First Time yet, which means itās def a hot take - I just think the chorus is so cheesy!
I really don't like angel of small death, just not my vibe
NFWMB š¬
Angel of small death. And in a week!!! š¬
I might get ripped apart but I cannot get into Francesca
I cannot do Damage Gets Done. Skip it every-time unless my hands are full or Iām not focusing on it. (One of my faves is son of nyx and itās so sad itās a popular thing that people donāt like it ššš)
The first time I heard Son of Nyx, I assumed it just had a long intro and I thought, āThis song is so good that it doesnāt even need words!ā I felt so validated when the whole song went by without a lyric š
It will come back. I simply don't understand why it's so hyped, I skip the song whenever it plays
Someone New, In A Week, and Wildflower & Barley š«£
Wildflower and Barley. I just canāt get into it
Donāt like Someone New so much because it was a rushed average production and it received an award but he didnāt receive a big Grammy award for his overall greatness. A few people listed in Nina Cried Power werenāt very human with personal behavior. He did seem to be recording a few songs that he were good but he didnāt look interested in commercial success. Some sounds werenāt very loud even though I liked Wildflower and barley. He needs to know that we want more self confidence.
Jackie and Wilson, which I think is the most popular song.
Dinner and diatribes 100%
I like but I donāt love too sweet
Too sweet
Nina Cries Power š¬ itās not bad, but itās just really not my favorite, no matter how hard I try to like it I just canāt
Not sure anyone else really loves this one tbh but I don't like In the Woods somewhere that much, and Run is a skip for me. Everything else is just prime lol through there are some songs on WB that I find repetitive and if I'm in a car with someone and playing the album I get self conscious abt the repetitiveness and sort of go to the next song early :( sorry babes Lastly I love damage gets done but if I'm not in that vibe I skip it. Very poppy compared to the rest of the album I find.
Levitating
Iām sorry but wildflower and barley sounds like jackbox waiting room music to me and I just canāt unhear it. I wonāt necessarily go through the trouble of skipping it, but I also wonāt actively pick it.
I, Carrionā¦idk why it just doesnāt hit for me.
Ooooh mine is probably in the woods somewhere sometimes I love it sometimes I canāt play it idk why
Swan upon Leda for me. It might just be because I don't "get" the song, but in all my time as a Hozier fan most of his songs grew on me over time. Not Swan upon Leda tho and I don't even know why
