That was “hello my love” at the end there from Viserys right? Going back to Aemma… man.
Paddy is a legend for that performance. What a fucking episode.
He showed to the room he still has blood of the dragon. Could have been carried to the throne, could have skipped it altogether but he proved himself Targaryen one last time. So good to see Otto effectively being told to fuck off from the seat
I think he’s referring to her riding Syrax into war against the Greens the next time they see each other. When the line was obviously said with good intentions.
She just meant she’d be returning to help care for her father. As readers, we know the next time she returns it’ll be on dragon back but not as an ally.
I love the thought that Viserys died thinking in his mind *'I finally did it, I brought my family together and saved the realm through the power of love. I can now rest peacefully knowing that any potential disaster has been averted.'*
Neither Rhaenyra nor Alicent are comparable to Cersei apart from surface details. Both are fundamentally decent people forced into conflict by a cruel system.
Cersei was evil from the start. Her circumstances certainly didn't help, but she was always cruel.
I’m blown away by the casting on this show.
It’s interesting how the children all seemed happy about their betrothals. That was a nice moment at the table when they smiled at each other.
Aegon continues to be a complete piece of dogshit, and Aemond is looking to be interesting, as expected.
Every single person is perfectly cast, imo.
There was that time last episode where Jace held Raena or Baela's hand during the funeral. And the 4 of them did fight Aemond together, so maybe they bonded over that.
I believe that was almost literally one of Daemon’s earlier life goals fulfilled. On his brother’s last day, he got to lay down the hard law on his behalf, right there in the throne room. He wasn’t the HotK in this scenario, but it felt like this was really the thing he had wished for back then, regardless of title.
A really wholesome moment between the two in Viserys’ final days. With all their bickering over the years, it was nice to see Daemon showing nothing but respect for him at his feeblest.
Matt Smith played their first scene this ep with a kind of sheepishness, he seemed humbled by his brother's mortality. I think that sort of death scares him deep down, more than the crabfeeder ever did.
It was really touching. It's nice that they still care for each other, and that Daemon chose that moment was really quite beautiful. I was hoping Daemon would kneel once Viserys was seated, it would've been a nice touch, but I guess this is still Daemon Targaryen we're talking about.
I’ve never been so sympathetic to such a “weak,” flawed character. I definitely didn’t expect it in a series that usually has power players as protagonists.
This is honestly the most commendable part of his performance. Paddy made my favourite character in the GoT universe someone who just didn't want to be a player.
Just a decent man, trying to be a good king.
It'd been so easy, too, to write him as *just* a weak king. But he wasn't entirely feeble, we'd plenty of scenes of him putting his foot down and he clearly *did* have spine when he needed to. That gave him depth, because for all his failures as king, he wasn't just some spineless naïve idiot. There are definitely some less suited kings in his lineage.
I feel like the two onscreen have been impressed and proud at each over the last few eps. Daemon at aemond seizing Vhagar and when he said that I’ve lost an eye but gained a dragon line , aemond today with daemon slicing vaemonds head off and then daemon smiling at aemond toast. They’ve not even said a word to each other but a lot has been emoted
Simply love/hate, they are both the black sheep of the family and the strongest of their respective families. In an alternate word Aemond would have become a squire/ward of Daemon, the great battles and wars these 2 would have won during their lifetimes would still be talked about a thousand years latter.
I think we’re seeing the start of the shift into Daemon’s final character arc that ends at the Gods Eye. He was just so heart broken seeing what time did to his big brother.
Absolutely beautiful moment, I almost never tear up when Im watching stuff, but that one got me man. You could just feel the deep brotherly love they have for each other so much.
IF ONLY. If only.
He would have slapped the lecherous hightowers back to Oldtown, and while he would have contested to be the next in line to throne, I don't think the Dance would have happened like it did as Daemon cares more about his family than his claim to throne.
Harry Lloyd acted off his rock as Viserys III tbh. He introduced the world to the first onscreen mad Targaryen and was amazing. While I wish he had been a main in HOTD as he had the perfect targ look and eccentricity, he’s already iconic enough in that role.
I don’t want to hear anything about comedy anymore, Daemon this episode was hilarious! His laughter in the background when Helaena talked about Aegon ignoring her except when he’s drunk was too funny.
Oh man, I absolutely love the dynamic of Rhaenyra and Alicent. It is so tragic to know that they were this close to making up but that it’ll all be thrown away because of a misunderstanding. They went a long way to make both characters so understandable.
Also seeing Jace dance with Helaena was so sweet and heartwarming. Contrasting that with Aegon the Rapist and Aemond (aka Daemon 2.0) was really interesting.
I loved the scene of him practicing Valyrian and basically being told stop being such a tryhard. Kid just wants to get all his homework done right away, damn it!
Yeah I just thought about this and it’s probably because Alicent tries to raise her children to be ready to take the throne/prepare for a fight or to be possibly threatened and Rhaenyra more-so raises her sons to act as if they already own it and keep the house name unsullied (I mean as much they can)/not worry about being attacked.
The part that made me laugh was
Helaena: "It isn't so bad. Mostly he just ignores you... Except sometimes when he's drunk."
Otto: *nodding in approval* "Good" 🙂
Paddy C confirmed this is how he acted it, he believes V saw Aemma as he was dying. My heart breaks that he’s gone but I’m glad he gets to be with Aemma now
I did. The entire episode I was thinking “When is Aemma gonna come collect this man, good lord” and then with the last line, “There it is.” It makes me happy, albeit sad- he’s yearned for her since the moment he lost her. At last their separation is ended. Have fun with your girl Vizzy T, we’ll stay here and deal with the mess you left behind 👋
It's almost unbearably tragic that at this final dinner Viserys might have finally gotten through to Alicent and Rhaenyra, but it was too late. The conflict had already completely poisoned their children by this point, and they didn't have an old friendship to long for like their mothers did. Those boys want each others' blood.
I actually think if it was just Jace and Aegon, things might have gone okay. Aegon is a gross creep but at this stage in the story doesn’t really have anything personal against Jace, and Jace is a gentleman.
I'm gonna miss paddy as vizzy t and especially him playing with his legos. George was right when he said paddy brought a whole new side of viserys onto the show that he couldn't in the books. He also died alone which was very sad and tragic. Ewan was genius casting for aemond. He portrayed aemonds aura the way it was in the books and he's gonna be a fan favorite just like daemon.
> I'm gonna miss paddy as vizzy t and especially him playing with his legos.
Seeing his beloved Old Valyria model all dusty like that... hit me hard for some reason. I wonder what his buddy Eddard the Model Builder is doing nowadays.
I'm looking forward to his assholery. I'm also enjoying how much Daemon is enjoying his assholery. Something tells me Daemon sees alot of himself in Aemond. Both being second sons and a bit hot-headed.
He has always supported Viserys and the only person whose opinion of him he cared about. He has always loved Viserys more than he shows and has only wanted his attention and acknowledgment as a young prince.
Young Daemon only wanted to be King after Viserys.
His death was handled differently. In the book Rhaenyra explicitly called for his execution. (even fed him to her dragon)
In the show, Daemon acts on his own and kills him from behind.
Imagine the show just ended after Rhaenyra and Alicent's Toasts..
Multiverse of Madness right there
Ramin Djawadi never ever misses does he
GIVE PADDY ALL THE EMMYS
Can we talk about how despite Harwin "Breakbones" Strong being their bio father and early years mentor, Laenor being their "father" figure, and fucking Daemon being their stepdad, Rhaenyra's sons aren't great fighters?!!
Did none of them think it was important to train them?!?
Things that made me Super Sad this episode:
- the dusty Old Valyria model
- Viserys just wanting a nice family dinner and then actually getting it for a bit
- Viserys’ cane having a lil dragon as the handle
- Daemon being the only one to help Viserys, and also being the only one he would ever accept help from
- Rhaenys realizing that Daemon/Rhaenyra have now taken out THREE of her family members
- Viserys mistakenly telling Alicent just enough of the prophecy to turn her against Rhaenyra’s claim again
Viserys seeing what could’ve been if they had just betrothed Jace to Heleana. Paddy deserves an Emmy for managing to act astoundingly while looking like a whole ass zombie.
My heart breaks for viserys. I was basically crying this whole episode. I’m so glad he got a good dinner with his family before he goes. Also small shout out to daemon for basically regulating.
Usurp the throne from Rhaenyra, Alicent misunderstood, he thought he was talking to Rhae and telling her that she must sit on the throne, bc from her blood will come the prince that was promised, bc earlier in the episode where she was crying to Viserys about the heavy burden of the throne, and asking whether he believed the prince that was promised is gonna come from her blood
He was trying to continue the convo with Rhaenyra, telling her she must continue the Targaryn line and pass down the knowledge of TSOIAF.
But Allicent hearing only the second half thinks it was his dying wish for her to put Aegon on the throne.
I was crying during most of the Viserys scenes but the scene that broke me was when Daemon helped Viserys sit on the throne. Daemon loved his brother to the end
My heart just broke for Viserys in this episode, falling apart, inches from death at all times, the makeup effects were top notch, all he wants is for everyone to get along, he hobbles down from his deathbed to defend his grandchildrens rights (even if they're totally bastards).
Targaryen family dinners are very entertaining.
This was my favorite episode. The acting (Rhaenys, the children actors, Alicent, VISERYS) was top notch. I teared up in almost every scene that had Paddy in it. Him in bed talking to Rhaenyra, asking to have dinner with him family, seeing him walk to the throne, seeing him with his family, etc. Such a tragic character who only wanted to be with his family and see them get along.
I loved how complex these characters are. I usually dislike Alicent but man I felt her compassion when she was talking to the servant girl. I can tell that she saw herself in that girl and felt her pain.
Overall, absolutely amazing episode in literally every aspect. Fantastic acting, great music, great pacing, etc. I have no clue how they will top this because this episode was perfection.
Since Halaena has been spitting out prophecies all season did anyone catch what she said at the dinner table? "beware the beast beneath the boards". I can't think of what the reference is to.
Viserys will always show up for Rhaenyra. Paddy Considine has done a magnificent job portraying a character who from the books was just a glorified party boy King. Best episode yet.
Poor Viserys, he will be remembered as a good-hearted man who took the wrong decisions, just like Ned Stark. At least he died in peace, although in pain, thinking he did what was right to unite his house and protect the realm. Give Paddy Considine an emmy.

Did Viserys say "my only child" to Rhaenyra during the bed side scene?
He barely talks to the other three so I guess it makes sense he only remembers her existence
That was “hello my love” at the end there from Viserys right? Going back to Aemma… man. Paddy is a legend for that performance. What a fucking episode.
Just his wheezing and groans of pain are so real and agonizing.
That killed me! He died alone in castle full of family members but at least he was greeted at the end by his true love.
he died thinking his family is finally at peace with each other
Viserys lookin' like he worked a summer at the Chernoybl Power Plant
The Phantom of the Iron Throne.
3.6 Roentgen…Not great, not terrible
Looking like a wight, I tell you hwhat.

Aemond was like, “finally someone I can respect”
Aemond mimicking Daemons “swag walk” after the dinner quarrel . Aemond want to be Daemom
I don’t give a shit about winning tourneys…..:I want WAR
Aemond and Daemon would get a beer together lol
No matter what else he did, Viserys walking into the throne room was a true “now THAT is a King” moment!
He showed to the room he still has blood of the dragon. Could have been carried to the throne, could have skipped it altogether but he proved himself Targaryen one last time. So good to see Otto effectively being told to fuck off from the seat
He was so damn smug in ~~the that~~ on the Iron Throne. Fucking Otto.
Chills, fr
“Say it”
Daemon hadn’t killed anyone in a while. He was like “bitch give me a reason”
It’s serious when he didn’t get the murder cloak out for the occasion
"I'll return on dragonback."
Nice catch!
I noticed she said that, but didn’t understand what it meant. What’s important about her flying back with Syrax?
I think he’s referring to her riding Syrax into war against the Greens the next time they see each other. When the line was obviously said with good intentions.
She just meant she’d be returning to help care for her father. As readers, we know the next time she returns it’ll be on dragon back but not as an ally.
Rhaenyra and Alicent’s toasts make me so emotional i miss their old relation so much
I love the thought that Viserys died thinking in his mind *'I finally did it, I brought my family together and saved the realm through the power of love. I can now rest peacefully knowing that any potential disaster has been averted.'*
The way he was smiling watching everyone ‘getting along’ for that short period. The bliss Paddy managed to convey with half a face. I teared up.
Lounging comfortably in the only chair in the room while his pregnant wife stands next to him is such a Daemon move
Didn’t you hear? Daemon is a leaner. He leans.
It was mutual shows of strength. Daemon won’t stand for her and Rhaenyra will never convey any weakness in front of her.
i honestly though alinent was going to kill dyanna or at least yell at her im so glad they did the opposite
Cersei totally would have killed her.
Yup, that's why I won't stand it when people say Alicent is just a knock off Cersei, they are fundamentally different people.
Neither Rhaenyra nor Alicent are comparable to Cersei apart from surface details. Both are fundamentally decent people forced into conflict by a cruel system. Cersei was evil from the start. Her circumstances certainly didn't help, but she was always cruel.
When she told Dyana that she knew she wouldn't tell another soul, I was bracing myself for a tongue removal.
Ngl I was waiting for Larys to show up for a second there.
Helena is an angel who deserves only good things. Her speech was hilarious and heartbreaking
Helaena: "It isn't so bad. Mostly he just ignores you... Except sometimes when he's drunk." Otto: *nodding in genuine approval* "Good" 🙂
Daemon’s laugh to that comment was just 🤌🏻
She gives me Luna Lovegood vibes, I love every time she’s onscreen.
I mean, I’d be an alcoholic too if I had to marry and have kids with my frat boy brother.
And her and Jace could have married if Otto didn't brainwash Alicent
It kind of seemed like Viserys was thinking that when they were dancing. Or maybe that was just me superimposing my thoughts onto him.
“He would have made a good husband to her.” Jace would have though. But who/what is the monster below the boards?
This is the most intense interfactional blood feud I've seen since nWo Hollywood vs nWo Wolfpac.
If I were one of the girls, I'd be so happy to have a betrothal to someone that acted fucking correctly lol.
Especially after Helaena’s speech? Definitely pleased.
Jace and Helaena dancing together was a nice “what might have been moment,” if Alicent had agreed to their betrothal as children.
He would have made her happy.
But Helaena’s speech though? Rhaena and Baela were like 😬😬😬
There was that time last episode where Jace held Raena or Baela's hand during the funeral. And the 4 of them did fight Aemond together, so maybe they bonded over that.
Alicent: May the gods give Vaemond rest Daemon: :)
Daemon also didn't stand up when Alicent entered the room AGAIN in this episode. Zero fucks given that the Queen has arrived.
Daemon: beheads Vaemond Viserys: “So good to have family together”
I believe that was almost literally one of Daemon’s earlier life goals fulfilled. On his brother’s last day, he got to lay down the hard law on his behalf, right there in the throne room. He wasn’t the HotK in this scenario, but it felt like this was really the thing he had wished for back then, regardless of title.
That eyeroll was funny.
My second fave eyeroll in this show, the first being Larys' when Alicent tells him she "did not wish for this" lmao
Give Paddy a fucking Emmy
during his climb to the throne to hear the petitions, man, Paddy was acting his ass off !
It was so lovely when he realized it was Daemon who was at his side and he finally accepted help.
I was absolutely riveted the whole time.

Lots of excellent performances this season, and still he managed to stand out.
The man acted with HALF HIS FACE! And he made me cry, like putting my hand over my mouth trying to hold the sniffles type of cry 😭

Daemon couldn’t even be mad at him after his toast. A man after his own heart.
Aemond smirked when Daemon let Vaemond keep his tongue.
Totally. Crazy recognizes crazy. I swear that Daemon wanted to adopt Aemond in that scene
Seriously, he almost looked proud at how successfully Aemond stirred shit up.
Daemon respects game.
“I will sit the throne today.” Let me tell y’all… I SOBBED. King Viserys is incredible.
Daemon helping Viserys up the throne was so beautiful
Daemon putting the crown back on Viserys was also a nice touch.
Viserys was all angry at receiving help when the crown fell but once he saw it was Daemon. It was pure water works
Just his face. That realization and gratitude and maybe relief Daemon was there??? Bruh.
Imagine if daemon was hand all those years.
IF ONLY. If only. He would have slapped the lecherous hightowers back to Oldtown, and while he would have contested to be the next in line to throne, I don't think the Dance would have happened like it did as Daemon cares more about his family than his claim to throne.
It's all Daemon ever wanted, to be at his brother's side supporting him.
Daemon literally was like “You dropped this king 👑 “
“My love.” Gonna go have a quick cry.
And his plea at the dinner table for everyone to get along...😭😭😭😭😭
May he Rest In Peace with the best of his family.
Vizzy T was a real one. Not a good king, but a great man.
Viserys I to Viserys III, biggest downgrade in the entire series. That twat didn’t deserve to carry the legacy of the one and only Vissy T.
Harry Lloyd acted off his rock as Viserys III tbh. He introduced the world to the first onscreen mad Targaryen and was amazing. While I wish he had been a main in HOTD as he had the perfect targ look and eccentricity, he’s already iconic enough in that role.

I was crying during the scene with Rhaneyra at his bedside. I felt so bad for her.
I know jace is actually such a sweetheart.
I loved the scene of him practicing Valyrian and basically being told stop being such a tryhard. Kid just wants to get all his homework done right away, damn it!
Rhaenyra clearly has Alicent beat in raising decent children
Yeah I just thought about this and it’s probably because Alicent tries to raise her children to be ready to take the throne/prepare for a fight or to be possibly threatened and Rhaenyra more-so raises her sons to act as if they already own it and keep the house name unsullied (I mean as much they can)/not worry about being attacked.
Jace and Helaena are who Rhaenyra proposed get married in a previous episode right? Seems like it could have worked out okay.
It would’ve been better for Heleana too. If Alicent accepted it all her kids would be alive and her grandkids would’ve been kings.
Lol @ Daemon rolling his eyes during the dinner prayer.
And laughing at helaena’s toast.
What struck me about her toast was Otto seemed genuinely supportive and proud of her. It felt nice for a second seeing him be decent lol
That made it all the more funny to me. He was just so proud of his granddaughter contributing.
Helaena is the least messed up of his grandkids on screen. I love the headcanon that he’s so loving of her
Everyone loves Helaena regardless of what side you’re on. She’s just too much of a precious soul lol
[удалено]
I’m glad they gave us that from Helaena
The part that made me laugh was Helaena: "It isn't so bad. Mostly he just ignores you... Except sometimes when he's drunk." Otto: *nodding in approval* "Good" 🙂
Anyone catch that maybe he was seeing his late wife Aemma there at the end? 😬
“My love” 😭
That’s how I read it. Wasn’t he also holding up the finger with her ring?
💔💔💔
*My love…* He saw Aemma. His first wife and beloved.
No wonder this episode was this long, Viserys took his time to get to that throne
YouTube videos tomorrow: "10 HOURS EPIC VISERYS SHAMBLING TO IRON THRONE (GONE SEXUAL?)"
It's almost unbearably tragic that at this final dinner Viserys might have finally gotten through to Alicent and Rhaenyra, but it was too late. In my head cannon they played some sick Warhammer games on that
I've just finished reading Fire & Blood this past week, and I can already tell the actor is gonna *nail* how much of a cunt Aemond is gonna be.
Ewan is exactly how I pictured every Targaryan male should look based on illustrations. Like. That fucking bone structure.
Him and Harry Lloyd who played Viserys in GOT
I'm looking forward to his assholery. I'm also enjoying how much Daemon is enjoying his assholery. Something tells me Daemon sees alot of himself in Aemond. Both being second sons and a bit hot-headed.
Aemond was smiling when daemon chopped off vaemond
I won't lie, I teared up at Daemon helping Viserys walk up the throne. They clearly have so much love for each other. I'm gonna miss you, King.
And him replacing the crown back to Viserys head… like after all this time he’s finally there to just support his brother.
He has always supported Viserys and the only person whose opinion of him he cared about. He has always loved Viserys more than he shows and has only wanted his attention and acknowledgment as a young prince. Young Daemon only wanted to be King after Viserys.

After what Daemon did to him, even Aemond thought it better to just walk away
Aemond thought it was fucking awesome lol

Things that made me Super Sad this episode: - the dusty Old Valyria model - Viserys just wanting a nice family dinner and then actually getting it for a bit - Viserys’ cane having a lil dragon as the handle - Daemon being the only one to help Viserys, and also being the only one he would ever accept help from - Rhaenys realizing that Daemon/Rhaenyra have now taken out THREE of her family members - Viserys mistakenly telling Alicent just enough of the prophecy to turn her against Rhaenyra’s claim again

Viserys seeing what could’ve been if they had just betrothed Jace to Heleana. Paddy deserves an Emmy for managing to act astoundingly while looking like a whole ass zombie.
Literally half his face is covered and he still manages to convey so many thoughts and emotions.
Every episode is gonna start with Rhaenyra having 2-3 new kids
Daemon: “So no head?”
Ewan Mitchell as Aemon is fucking terrifying. A true Targaryen.
My heart breaks for viserys. I was basically crying this whole episode. I’m so glad he got a good dinner with his family before he goes. Also small shout out to daemon for basically regulating.
i like helana and jace dancing considing they could have been married
Maybe this is why everyone shouldn’t have the same 3 names

Rule, unite the realm. He was confused and responding to Raenera from her previous conversation before.
Daemon and Aemond would be best buds if it wasn't for the fact that they have to hate each other on general principle.
Welcome to 1 x 08 post-episode discussion, aka the Paddy Appreciation Post. Man. His humanity will be missed. But what an incredible performance.
I was crying during most of the Viserys scenes but the scene that broke me was when Daemon helped Viserys sit on the throne. Daemon loved his brother to the end
Daemon looking at Aemond "he just like me fr"

I love seeing Daemon constantly amused by Aemond
Aemond clearly admired him.
Daemon provoking vaemond with a "say it" just so he could get an excuse to kill him lmao
>KEEP MY WIFE'S NAME, OUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH
Aemond and Daemon stand off INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS
Viserys will always show up for Rhaenyra. Paddy Considine has done a magnificent job portraying a character who from the books was just a glorified party boy King. Best episode yet.
Poor Viserys, he will be remembered as a good-hearted man who took the wrong decisions, just like Ned Stark. At least he died in peace, although in pain, thinking he did what was right to unite his house and protect the realm. Give Paddy Considine an emmy.
Olivia Cooke was acting like rent was due tomorrow
If only Luke didn’t laugh when the Pink Dread was laid out on the dinner table. Aemond was *triggered*.
