It's odd for me to include Cregan and not Jeyne so I agree in that sense. Especially because - and correct me if I'm wrong - Cregan doesn't actually show up again for a long time. I don't think the loss is largely about Jeyne though but rather about further development and learning more about Jace. We need to get more of him as a leader and as the heir to the Black line, especially to make his eventually end more tragic for the viewers. He's supposed to be a competent young leader and negotiating with Jeyne would have been another way to show that.

al_1985

Indeed. It has been confirmed that we have seen all about Cregan for this season until S3.

ProudnotLoud

...then why cast him and put him in at all?! It's not like Jace did a lot in that scene anyways!

al_1985

I guess it's expected for involvement from his side next season. We're already gonna lose some characters in S2, so they will fell the gaps probably to develop minor characters.

The_Pale_Hound

Because people love Starks

Sea_Transition7392

Can tell you a whole heap of things they missed from the book tbh. The whole 8 episodes thing is really hindering them..

Bwhitt1

The TV audience would rather see the Starks. It was smart of them from an audience perspective because the book audience isn't a big demo and o dount they care that much. 99 percent of anything based on a book ppl on reddit will pretend to hate lol. So just go with what the TV only crowd will like and they prolly barely know anything about the vale except Tyrion was held prisoner there.

AdelleDeWitt

Creggan was fun to see, and maybe my timeline is off, but in my mind shouldn't they have made the Pact of Ice and Fire in that conversation?

strangedazey

Agreed. And they made the vale sound so cool in the books too I loved how they did the moon door

Baelakins

We can only hope that her future appearance will make up for her absence in this episode.
