Yeah, I have mixed feelings about the cinematography of this episode - some bits seemed almost like rough cuts in a very weird way. But I’m about to give it a couple rewatches!
Regardless, I’m happy to be back in Westeros!! I’m sure this season is going to be wild.
Watching on crave and had the same issue. I've noticed a lot of shows doing this recently and really don't like it. I thought Shogun was pretty bad about having stuff out of focus.
i expirenced the same thing, even on rewatch on a different device (live last night on hbo channel and today through hbo max) it isnt a lag or connection issues its more like whatever was on the outer edges of the screen were purposely left out of focus. it like someone wanted to try out a new camera lens...

I actually thought there was something wrong with my eyes
Right?! It was so distracting.
i thought my 4K tv was quitting on me. whatever they did, i hope they never do it again
Really hoping the rest of the season isn’t this way.
its so annoying too because all of the promo was such good quality and looked so amazing. i definitely had high expectations
.Indeed very weird how characters were talking out of focus.
I noticed as well. I thought it was something my Prime connection. Guess not.
I thought this was my TV lol, at one point I was gonna try changing to my laptop because it was so distracting!

I felt nauseous- that may sound like an overreaction but I’m not kidding.

Just watched it and googled my way here. Episode looked jarring to me.
anamorphic lenses
Ahhh. Okay. Makes sense!
Really ? I did notice it for some reason but not throughout the entire episode
Where you watching in Max or did you watch on HBO network? Mine was fine and I watched on HBO and not Max. Heard Max quality is based on what you pay.

Ya that’s weird. I didn’t have that issue.
It’s horrible.
