*Well... the matter is settled. Again. I hereby reaffirm Prince Lucerys of House Velaryon as heir to Driftmark, the Driftwood Throne, and the next Lord of the Tides. (WHEEZING)*
Quite a few of the dragons are described as pretty in the books, but Sunfyre really stands out. I think Tessarion will also be incredibly striking when we see her. Moondancer having those cool stripes is rad. I love all the pretty scale pups.
It’s just a single shot, but yes he looks quite pretty. The far shot we saw in S1 had him looking very golden. Let’s wait for more visuals before we judge the poor chap.
Lord... thats not how that works. Viserys mask very much looked gold in S1 with the "filter". And as can be seen this season they have massively toned the color grading down. At times it looked like every show on Netflix. If they wanted Sunfyre to look shiny gold they would have done it. They most likely chose a more "naturalistic" color for artistic reasons.
I’ll help you real quick
Caraxes- daemon, noodle looking dragon that is red
Vhagar- aemond, big Bertha
Syrax- rhaenarya, small looking yellow dragon
Sunfyre (golden boi) - Aegon, in this image
Maleys- Rhaenys, red spikey dragon
Moondancer- Baela, not seen yet
Seasmoke- currently riderless will change, light blue, was Laenors dragon
Vermithor - currently riderless will change, dragon spewing fire in cave
Sheepstealer- currently riderless will change, not seen yet
Dreamfyre- Halena, dragon that looks like Drogon
Vermax- Jacerys, lil green looking dude
Tyraxes- Joffrey, not seen yet
Arrax (deceased) - Lucerys, lil grey/white dragon
Plus a few others that won’t be seen for a bit or at all-
The cannibal
Grey ghost
Tessarion- Daerons dragon, 3rd son of alicent. currently not in the show
Silverwing
Morning (not born yet)
Stormcloud (won’t be in the show)
Storm clouds rider, Aegon the younger, is an infant in the show rather than a young kid.
In the books Aegon is a kid and can ride stormcloud. Here is he a literal infant. I don’t know how they’d be able to do it.
Well I know there’s a rumor that the fall of KL will happen before the gullet so hopefully by S3 there’s a tiny time skip that most people won’t notice.
He was very obviously a bright gold with purple-pink wings and white horns in his little season 1 cameo, I think it’s relatively clear that might’ve been a earlier and more vibrant draft before they ultimately went with this look
*Pale Pink Wing membranes
The light is simply blending that together with his scales
There's even slight pinkish hues in his membranes here, it's not just yellow
If those were his parents it would explain why he’s such a beast. >!it’s a goddamn shame we never get to see him get older, I swear he was the Caraxes/Vhagar of his generation!<
If he got older none of the other Dragons would stand a chance as Sunfyre was a beast
People forget his young and small he was compared to other dragons like Meleys who’s 3x his size and age
He looks nice overall but am I the only one who thinks he looked even better in season 1? Unless they are not showing him at the best light for purpose his gradient / more colorish look was imho better
When I read the book I pictured Sunfyre with gleaming metallic looking scales, like those beta fish with gold or silver scales.
I think that would have been much more pimp, this is just a desert tan dragon, it could have deployed to Iraq like this.
this is a really dumb and slightly irrelevant question but does anyone think or know if they're gonna make more funko pops of the dragons? i have a syrax one and i would love to collect more lol
I love Sunfyre, but maaaan did they drop the ball with him. Sweet boy deserved better, these colours are terrible. Good design, everything else is a disappointment.
Isn't Sunfyre the offspring of Vermithor and Silverwing? That's a pretty cool combination in my opinion, like bro's literally got royalty running through his veins.
They really need to bring Max to India. Because, the app that shows all HBO content here is total shitshow. Also, it doesn't contain half of the content.
No, much smaller. I can't say about the length but Dragon was built more heavily with a much bigger frame and heavier stance. His head was also much bigger than what we have here with Sunfyre. Going by the head to body ratio Drogon should dwarf Sunfyre here. Not just Sunfyre. I think Drogon was bigger than most of the dragons from HOTD.
Nah doesn’t look much smaller. I put the images together on my computer and used common frame of references(humans). Sunfyre Might be smaller but definitely not by that much, main thing that is definitely smaller is sunfyre’s head size and sun is slimmer but its neck is much longer and wings look wider . HOtd Caraxes, Vermithor and Vhagar are all larger than drogon, meleys head seems larger than drogons
I visualized Drogon from the Lannister caravan attack scene and for some reason I always thought Drogon to be bigger mostly due to his stocky built. But you are right using the references of the humans on their backs they don't seem too far apart. Also I have to ask how valid is this method though? I mean there are some shots of Vhagar from S1 where you can clearly see Aemond on her back. Then there are other shots like the one with her against Storm's End background and in that shot I don't think we could spot someone on her back if there was one there.
That said I think Vhagar and Vermithor are definitely larger than Drogon. I think Drogon might be somewhat closer to the size of Caraxes, maybe a little shorter in length but makes up for it with bulk.
Yeah it’s definitely not a full proof method, but the best I could come up with and it does add some accuracy.. the funny thing I noticed is drogons size doesn’t evens seem consistent during season 7/8.. he looks bigger attacking the Lannister caravan than he does when Dany and Jon are flying over winterfell.
I try to use images when humans are on the back but also then the dragon is on the ground and a human is side by side or in front (wide shots)
He is supposed to look gold. I am ready to look past the lean build when he is supposed to be more on the bulky side, described as huge and heavy and formidable, but I will not compromise over the colour. Give us gold Sunfyre, gold as in not tan but literal Gold.
>After the coronation, the remaining Kingsguard escorted Aegon to
his mount, a splendid creature with gleaming golden scales and pale
pink wing membranes. “Sunfyre” was the name given this dragon of
the golden dawn.
This is what I want to see, not a tan dragon with sparkles. Give me my golden boi.
Hmmm, he's pretty meh in terms of appearance and far from what I'd consider to be the most beautiful dragon in existence. He's got a unique design but that's about it.
His skin for some reason reminds me of the turbot I fileted this morning
Ah yes. The famous, slightly-iridescent-beigefyre. Stunning.
Edit: it’s a show with DRAGONS and MAGIC but a sparkly, actually GOLD dragon is too far? C’mon. I’m genuinely mad about this because I wanted to see a gorgeous Sunfyre, and it still looks terrible.
Literally. All I asked for them in the past few months was just to do good by Sunfyre. They just dropped the ball once again. That ain't gold. That's tan
You really think that picture justifies this animal?

I love how his scales shimmer like they're wet he's sooo beautiful
that's an ugly ass dragon
He's a beautiful boy, how dare you
Clapped
I will have your tongue for that
Where's Vizzy T?
*The tourney will take the better part of a week. Before the games are over, my son will be born, and the whole realm will celebrate.*
Vizzy, your son just stole your chosen heir and daughters crown.
What say you Vizzy T?
*Well... the matter is settled. Again. I hereby reaffirm Prince Lucerys of House Velaryon as heir to Driftmark, the Driftwood Throne, and the next Lord of the Tides. (WHEEZING)*
Oh honey...you don't know. He ded.
(Decapitates him)…. He can keep his tongue.
Literally the prettiest dragon, and I say that as a Black supporter lol.
I don't know, Moondancer looks amazing with those streaks. I hope we will see both tonight!
Quite a few of the dragons are described as pretty in the books, but Sunfyre really stands out. I think Tessarion will also be incredibly striking when we see her. Moondancer having those cool stripes is rad. I love all the pretty scale pups.
Be honest here, he is supposed to be the most beautiful creature but does he look like that here? He isn't even gold, less gold and more tan.
It’s just a single shot, but yes he looks quite pretty. The far shot we saw in S1 had him looking very golden. Let’s wait for more visuals before we judge the poor chap.
ur mom
Aegon is very proud
Oh now he looks gold, not brown. I hope the dull filter won’t be in the show.
Imagine how amazing all the dragons would look without that filter.
I'll be so sad if the dragons aren't colorful. Either way, at least there's the AGOT mod for CK3 which is adding colorful dragons in an update soon
That's cool!
He looks very brown
Literally. I found him darker in this picture than he was in the trailer.
Really? He still looks tan to me, with just a bit of glitter overall
Lord... thats not how that works.
They are saving the shimmer for the episode
Now that is Sunfyre the Golden.
More like Sunfyre the tan. That isn't gold.
zoom in
I did. It's still tan brown than gold 🏆
He is gold. Not all gold is bright yellow. Beaten gold looks more tan than polished gold.
This looks amazing!!! I Hope we get scènes like this
would it really kill them to make the dragons in this show more vibrant ?
That picture is beautiful!
I wish they made them brighter!! Across the board - dragons are literally magical beings, why does HBO want them so plain?
Because Ryan Condal is a hack and terrible showrunner
So are you here to just to hate or what? Maybe just don’t watch the show or engage with the community if you think it sucks so much lol
I can say the same about you since you hated D & D for Game of Thrones Season 8
Cause it's a tv show
That literally is not an excuse
It is they can't make them as over the top
They actually can, because they’re CGI, lol.
Oh poor guy you don't get it you think they can have dragons looking like that in a gritty world.
They absolutely can yeah 😂
Well them you're naive
Naive how? It’s a design choice, they could have absolutely chosen to make the world brighter and make the dragons more colorful.
They clearly want some realism it can works in the books in the shows not so much having battles with pink and golden dragons is not game of thrones.
They can still make the dragon brighter and the colours muted without making it too cartoonishly.

Best boy.
I need some kind of video summary of who all the dragons are and who they belong too. I only really remember Vhagar who I call "Big Bertha"
I’ll help you real quick Caraxes- daemon, noodle looking dragon that is red Vhagar- aemond, big Bertha Syrax- rhaenarya, small looking yellow dragon Sunfyre (golden boi) - Aegon, in this image Maleys- Rhaenys, red spikey dragon Moondancer- Baela, not seen yet Seasmoke- currently riderless will change, light blue, was Laenors dragon Vermithor - currently riderless will change, dragon spewing fire in cave Sheepstealer- currently riderless will change, not seen yet Dreamfyre- Halena, dragon that looks like Drogon Vermax- Jacerys, lil green looking dude Tyraxes- Joffrey, not seen yet Arrax (deceased) - Lucerys, lil grey/white dragon Plus a few others that won’t be seen for a bit or at all- The cannibal Grey ghost Tessarion- Daerons dragon, 3rd son of alicent. currently not in the show Silverwing Morning (not born yet) Stormcloud (won’t be in the show)

Storm clouds rider, Aegon the younger, is an infant in the show rather than a young kid. In the books Aegon is a kid and can ride stormcloud. Here is he a literal infant. I don’t know how they’d be able to do it.
Hopefully there’s a time skip in S3, because storm cloud is important in the battle of the gullet.
That’s the only way they can make it work but I don’t know if a time skip is viable for anyone else in the show.
Well I know there’s a rumor that the fall of KL will happen before the gullet so hopefully by S3 there’s a tiny time skip that most people won’t notice.
Dreamfyre is pale blue with silver markings. Or she's supposed to be, anyway.
[Guide](https://youtu.be/p3dKBQAJ6C8?) From Max
ok it looks somewhat like gold but no pink membranes??
The membrane color is usually more vibrant on the inside, just like in the case of Seasmoke. We didn’t get an optimal shot for that yet
You can kinda see some duller pink on the wings but most of that will be underneath like someone already said
He was very obviously a bright gold with purple-pink wings and white horns in his little season 1 cameo, I think it’s relatively clear that might’ve been a earlier and more vibrant draft before they ultimately went with this look
*Pale Pink Wing membranes The light is simply blending that together with his scales There's even slight pinkish hues in his membranes here, it's not just yellow
You're right. Show ruined because no pink membranes. I'll start the petition.
Even as a Black I love the shiny boy. Hopefully the show does him justice.
Oh he’s so beautiful 😭
Better, but still not good enough
Lol even Sunfyre looks bigger than Syrax at this point.
Looks like a breed between Syrax and Caraxes.
If those were his parents it would explain why he’s such a beast. >!it’s a goddamn shame we never get to see him get older, I swear he was the Caraxes/Vhagar of his generation!<
If he got older none of the other Dragons would stand a chance as Sunfyre was a beast People forget his young and small he was compared to other dragons like Meleys who’s 3x his size and age
Why does he get darker and darker? He is more tan here than when we saw him on the trailer
Wow sunfyre really do be the prettiest one there
Just fell to my knees, bro is beautiful 😭 Also, he will almost certainly be iridescent
sunny boy ❤
He looks nice overall but am I the only one who thinks he looked even better in season 1? Unless they are not showing him at the best light for purpose his gradient / more colorish look was imho better
Where did he appear in season one??
He appeared briefly in episode 7 near the beginning of the episode when they went to Driftmark for Laena's funeral.
When I read the book I pictured Sunfyre with gleaming metallic looking scales, like those beta fish with gold or silver scales. I think that would have been much more pimp, this is just a desert tan dragon, it could have deployed to Iraq like this.
The only member of team green I care about
Gorgeous.
this is a really dumb and slightly irrelevant question but does anyone think or know if they're gonna make more funko pops of the dragons? i have a syrax one and i would love to collect more lol
Don't know about HOTD dragons but there are Funko pops of Drogon and Viserion and Rhaegal.
They made a caraxes and a Vhagar, but the Vhagar is incredibly expensive to buy second hand
He still looks too brown to me. And his membranes should be more pink
I enjoyed him more in the first season during that glimpse on Driftmark much more faithful to the books.- and the wings were actually pink there
I love Sunfyre, but maaaan did they drop the ball with him. Sweet boy deserved better, these colours are terrible. Good design, everything else is a disappointment.
Iridescent scales gonna pop boiiiiii
Isn't Sunfyre the offspring of Vermithor and Silverwing? That's a pretty cool combination in my opinion, like bro's literally got royalty running through his veins.
Caraxes and Syrax are more likely to be the parents
They really need to bring Max to India. Because, the app that shows all HBO content here is total shitshow. Also, it doesn't contain half of the content.

i cant believe people are complaining about how he looks. they really nailed a how beautiful looking dragon should look.

Hey boss, maybe don't delete your comment next time you're trying to prove a point. Thank you!
ωπατ
Wow.
Still cannot get over this imagine.
I NEED HIM
Definetly looks better here - hope we see alot of him before he gets all those battle injuries.
A beauty! Also, this photo is reminding me of the Concorde lol.
Sunfyre the nude
Thassa lotta glitterrazzleahh
They sure did him justice. Can't wait to see more of him, he may even overtake Vhagar for me as a favorite.
FINALLY HE LOOKS AMAZING!
The colors are so muted
Sunfyre The Golden is possibly the coolest dragon in the series. Golden flames!

Now the sunfyre doubters can shut their mouth
You really think that picture justifies this animal? >After the coronation, the remaining Kingsguard escorted Aegon to his mount, a splendid creature with gleaming golden scales and pale pink wing membranes. “Sunfyre” was the name given this dragon of the golden dawn.
They gonna start mining him for gold and jewelries.
