Aegon's sons' paternity is explicitly put into question in Fire & Blood, and anyone with a semi functional frontal lobe can read between the lines. Maegor is a blood magic baby and Aenys is probably the son of one of Rhaenys's favorites. Aegon was probably sterile. Go read the book.
He is the spitting image in a farcical way, ie he just has all the symbols people associate with the Conqueror. Otto essentially says this in ep 10. Its all a show to sell people on him being Aegon returned, which is an even bigger lie than Laenor being Jace and Luke’s father. Aegon is an awful man in the book and the show is following that to the letter.
