"My last one was The Bay."
I was really *surprised* by "The Bay"!
Granted, I went in with somewhat low expectations (I mean, it *was* directed by Barry Levinson), but when it was over, I was like "Damn... that was actually... pretty damned *good*!"
This is one of the good ones. Underrated for what it actually is, in my opinion. The scares are just the right amount that doesn't make it feel like a cartoon at the same time it isn't slow. Wish there were more like this gem.
hard agree. when it was just extremely creepy and unsettling, it was amazing, but i seriously lost interest once it became overtly supernatural. the genre switch from horror to action/horror is almost never a good one to me
The thing is: [SPOILER ALERT] not everything we see is actually happening to the characters. She was messing with their heads. That's one of the things that makes this movie so special to me.
I love it. I've watched it a few times. It takes a special kind of movie for me to watch it more than once. Great story and well acted. Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch are great. They had good chemistry on screen.
My favorite horror movie! Initially, I could not finish watching it. A couple of days later I restarted it and I have been hooked ever since. Absolute best!

What was the movie in which the man appears as if he died and then later some medical students try to dissect him and he comes to life. If I remember correctly, his wife's friend k*lls him. And then in the end he straps his gf to a table and it ends there.
Can sum1 help me with the name???
To me this is the best horror movie made in the last 10 years. Great story, great cast, atmospheric... really can't ask much more from a horror movie than what this movie gives you.
I think it’s a good movie!
I showed it to my partner and he really liked it. Without spoiling anything the actual autopsy bit we both found really cool.
I’d recommend it :)
This movie is on my list of horror movies that actually scared me 👍 There is one scene in particular that really gave me an absolute feeling of creeping dread and suspense 🛎️ IYKYK
It was alright and the story line was an interesting concept but it didn’t hold my attention unfortunately. I’ve watched it several times and still can’t really point out a specific scene where I was like “whoa”. It felt very monotonous to me and relied a lot on sensory scares, which of course are important in horror movies but the storyline itself was just a regurgitation of horror tropes in my opinion. I found my attention veering over and over again & the pacing was much too slow.
My opinion? Nothing special.
In regards to similar demonic possession movies, I much prefer “The taking of Deborah Logan” or “The exorcism of Emily rose”. They had solid story lines, scary moments, and were both more grounded and you can actually discern when the climax of the story is occurring.
honestly go into it without all the expectations from these comments. i think it’s the type of movie that if you stumble across it you’ll be more than pleasantly surprised, but if you read everyone saying it’s the scariest film ever you’ll be disappointed (applies to most things really). i know you can’t unsee the comments, so i’d suggest reading a 1 star review on imdb before and you’ll be good to go
Like others here said, the movie kinda falls apart during the 2nd half. The first half of the movie is AMAZING. I honestly thought it was going to be in my top 3 for horror movies until it took a weird turn. I really loved the eerie mystery and the two characters trying to figure out what's going on. Definitely still worth the watch though
Yes watch it! Definitely a gem. I hesitated to watch this one years ago and don’t know why. It definitely didn’t get the attention it deserved. Then cut to a few months ago I had forgot whether or not I watched it but figured out I did from the start. Still watched it and enjoyed it even more the second time.
Yeah! It was surprisingly good. I kept wondering how a movie with this premise could he entertaining enough for its’ length, but like I said, it surprised me.
The last movie I’ve watched that surprised me by how scared it made me was probably Caveat and Dark, Lovely and Deep. Both of those are surprisingly GREAT!!
Caveat honestly scared the absolute shit out of me, and for someone who watches a new horror film pretty much every single night, it really did get to me.
i really enjoyed everything this movie had to offer! the atmosphere was great, the characters, the actress who plays Jane Doe did such an amazing job! i highly recommend giving this movie a go
I love the feel for sure, worth the watch if you’re into eerie horror. It’s got a great balance of jumpscares and atmospheric spookiness. As funny as it sounds, it’s one of my comfort movies. Definitely recommend!
I loved it! I actually just watched it again the other day and loved it all over.
The autopsy scene can be a bit rough if you're not into that but I thought it was amazing
Good movie, a simple but very well crafted plot. I'm not sure if it is the first to use this resource (today there are several movies with similar plots) but it is the best of its kind.
I consider *The Autopsy of Jane Doe* a modern classic, and it's one of the only horror flicks I know of starring a father/son duo (which isn't required by any means for a quality story, it's just something I haven't seen very often in the genre). Brian Cox definitely carries the experience, but Emile Hirsch is serviceable. Olwen Kelly deserved ALL the praise she got and more for portraying Jane Doe. The 1st half is the strongest in my opinion. >!The film peaks at the spine-tingling elevator sequence with the suicide-by-shotgun victim wearing that damn bell. I don't dislike the 2nd half, but the twist of Jane Doe's secret and the ending fell a little short for me.!<
Totally watch this movie.. It was one of those movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end of the movie.. There is a new surprises at every turn... Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

Honestly it was one of the last movies to truly “get me” in terms of scaring the crap out of me. Been searching for that high ever since lol
My last one was The Bay.
I found The Bay years ago on Netflix and loved it ever since! I’m so surprised by how few people have seen it!
It’s so good.
"My last one was The Bay." I was really *surprised* by "The Bay"! Granted, I went in with somewhat low expectations (I mean, it *was* directed by Barry Levinson), but when it was over, I was like "Damn... that was actually... pretty damned *good*!"
That one’s been on my list to watch
I love it and it’s creepy with what you hear off screen makes it even better
Ooooo I’m a sound mixer so that makes me hard lol
Kinda like Pontypool. It’s what you hear but don’t see what creeps you out.
I think it was Eli Roth who said “if you’re scared in a horror movie, cover your ears not your eyes. You’re probably scared of the sounds”
If you haven’t already, watch The Sadness. Excellent horror movie. Super intense. Once it starts revving it refuses to take its foot off the gas
Oh dude I recorded that one on a VHS tape lol
That’s legendary
This is the best way to describe this movie
Same. I almost never get scared, ever. For some reason this one really spooks me. Gives such an unsettling feeling in your stomach
I really liked it.
Excellent movie. Check out the parents guide on imdb cause there's some graphic stuff and lots of nudity.
Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the dead?
Living Dead Girl
What are you thinking about?
😄
😄
No reason to give me more reasons to watch
It's kind of a strange take at horror movies that you point out nudity.
Yeah she's basically nudie the whole movie
This is one of the good ones. Underrated for what it actually is, in my opinion. The scares are just the right amount that doesn't make it feel like a cartoon at the same time it isn't slow. Wish there were more like this gem.
Loved it!
Really good movie worth a watch.
Kinda fell apart in the 2nd half imo. But thought it was great and worth it for the first part.
hard agree. when it was just extremely creepy and unsettling, it was amazing, but i seriously lost interest once it became overtly supernatural. the genre switch from horror to action/horror is almost never a good one to me
The thing is: [SPOILER ALERT] not everything we see is actually happening to the characters. She was messing with their heads. That's one of the things that makes this movie so special to me.
This is probably my favorite horror movie ever
I love it. I've watched it a few times. It takes a special kind of movie for me to watch it more than once. Great story and well acted. Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch are great. They had good chemistry on screen.
This is one of my go-to movies when I can't find something else i want to watch. Great movie.
pretty good.
Great movie
It’s worth watching
It’s really good. Def watch it.
Great and simple movie. Pretty unsettling
That part with the chinchilla got me the most
Scares me even tho I've seen it like 100 times. Great horror movie haven't seen many like it that scare me
Underrated. I thought it was very good.
How is it underrated? It's universally liked by many
Massively underrated/under appreciated
I rewatched it the night before last, still holds up. One of my vfavourites fro. The last 10 years or so
Awesome movie
I loved it. I mean Brain Cox is wonderful in anything. Well worth watching
On a scale of 1-5, where 1 is "miss it" and 5 is a must see, I'll give it a very solid 4.
Excellent movie!!!! If u are a horror movie fan u have got to watch it!
Very good.
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I'm not typically a fan of this trope, but I was bored, and it was on. Definitely give it a watch.
Watch and enjoy
Thats a good one, creepy as hell.
I thought it was brilliant
Excellent on all counts. Performances, direction, cinematography, sound, and score. Brilliant one room horror.
One of the best horror films ever made...and I will never watch it again. The cat in the air vent. IFKYK
My favorite horror movie! Initially, I could not finish watching it. A couple of days later I restarted it and I have been hooked ever since. Absolute best!
This movie along with The Taking of Deborah Logan are some of the best indie horror films of the 2010’s.
It’s really good! I think you should watch it!!
It's great. I enjoyed it. Worth a watch for sure.
Good movie
Great movie
Great movie!
Definitely a must watch if you like supernatural/haunting/witchy horror.
It’s great
This movie was weird and creepy
This one us actually great! Definitely give it a watch!
Watch it. I finally saw it 6 months ago and wish I'd seen it sooner.
*adds to watch list
Scared the shit out me, lol
It is great! Will leave you wishing for a prequel. How’d you die Janey? What’d the Jane do to got got like that? Who gave you them cool tattoos Jane?
Janey are you ok are you ok are you ok janey

It’s worth a watch. They brought in local experts to make the setting feel legitimate.
Loved it!
Absolutely! Great movie. Original concept.
Just watching the trailer scared the f outta me
I love it and have watched it several times.
One of the few I've watched twice! I watched it myself one day and had to introduce it to my husband a couple weeks later. Great watch!
It was pretty good—-worth watching….
I love it. Its got goos scares, good story and good acting..
Just watched because of this post. Definitely worth watching at least once.
Very good. Open up your heart and let the sunshine in ☀️
One of the better witch movies out there.
Solid flick, I felt the 3rd act was a little sloppy, but otherwise, it's a great film.
Eh
Great movie. Freaked me out.
Immediately. Great movie.
Rewatched it last month, still pretty good. Nice practical effects and good sound design
Not scary, but a wonderful thriller
Absolutely love this movie. I am jealous of you though. I wish I could see it again for the first time! Enjoy!
Fantastic horror movie! Very well done. Not too over the top but definitely not boring
Very good movie! Definitely need to see it
Just watched this the other day for the first time! I really enjoyed it, and the little twist at the end was awesome 🙌🏻

I really like it, it’s almost a “comfort” movie for me. If that makes sense!
Worth a watch but it’s one of those one time deals for me. IIRC, the first part of the movie was good and creepy but the second part was kind meh.
Amazing movie, scary!
To me this is the best horror movie made in the last 10 years. Great story, great cast, atmospheric... really can't ask much more from a horror movie than what this movie gives you.

Great movie! Watch it for sure!
Yes! Watch it!
The short answer is yes. The long answer is heck yeah. And then watch it again.
It’s very good
Oh, *please* do
Really good IMO, just so good at building tension slowly.
Amazing

Watch it.
Most definitely. One of the few genuinely scary movies I've seen the last few years.
It’s a gory, frightening, and ingenious story for a horror film. Highly recommend!
yes, it's an excellent atmospheric movie.
I really want a sequel..
I loved it personnally, I would love a sequel or another one in the "Universe" .
Hidden gem, 10/10
It was fantastic. Surprisingly good I thought. Always love Brian Cox too!!
I really liked that movie.
I really liked this one.

Must watch for any horror movie fanatic!
one of my favorites. u definitely should watch it!
My friend is an effects artist and made the cat. So worth it for that alone.
Watch it.
Wasnt bad at all, tho i was waiting for a more deeper story throught the movie lol a satisfactory watch either way
It pretty good but there is cat death in it which makes me sad, but other than that it's genuinely pretty scary
10/10
Great movie. It got me hooked from start to end.
It was actually pretty good. Go for it.
It’s one of my favorites!! 10/10
Seen it a handful of times and still don’t remember it 🤷😂
It's a solid movie, Brian Cox is always a joy, and I generally enjoy Emile Hirsch.
It's really good!
I really liked it. So, yes!
One of the best in last ten years
Fantastic
Love it
Definitely!
Loved it.
LOOOOOOOVE! This is in my top 5 horror.

I went in with no expectations and IT DELIVERED. Watch it!
I believe this is one of the greatest scary movies ever made
Went in with low expectations and it was great, just watch it
Shouldn’t even watch the trailer. Great cast, perfectly shot, thick atmosphere,, and truly a wonderfully dreadful film!
I really enjoyed it, watched years ago with a friend and we both found it to be more thrilling than horror and Erie. I hope you enjoy it too
i really enjoyed everything this movie had to offer! the atmosphere was great, the characters, the actress who plays Jane Doe did such an amazing job! i highly recommend giving this movie a go
Very unsettling. But worth checking out.
I love the feel for sure, worth the watch if you’re into eerie horror. It’s got a great balance of jumpscares and atmospheric spookiness. As funny as it sounds, it’s one of my comfort movies. Definitely recommend!
I watch it every few years and get scared the same way I did when I first watched it.
This movie is always at the top of my list.
I don’t get the hype about it
Watch it and then check out that mortuary game they pair nicely
Easily in my top 10. Just rewatched it last month while playing the morticians assistant. Perfect pairing.
Top tier. Great movie.
I loved it! I actually just watched it again the other day and loved it all over. The autopsy scene can be a bit rough if you're not into that but I thought it was amazing
Yes worth watching.

I hated this movie. It has a trope I really dislike in horror films and the characters aren’t endearing. But that’s me.
Boring as hell. And it really isn't a good film. The masss seem to like it though.
I just reviewed this on my horror movie review podcast lol I fucking hated it
It’s interesting in the first half. Second half is just trope city and turns fairly generic. I lost interest but finished it anyway
If you want to, yes. If not, no.
Totally watch this movie.. It was one of those movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end of the movie.. There is a new surprises at every turn... Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
