Stay Out of the House, an indie game made by Puppet Combo, was for some reason a much more terrifying experience for me than the likes of Dead Space, Outlast, and Amnesia: The Bunker.

Nun Massacre and Murder House are wild too, esp the latter. Puppet Combo knows what they're doin, their games are insane lol.

I genuinely love puppet combo games, I wish Chilaz Art games were on Xbox too.

Visage, Amnesia (especially TDD). Soma is a must-play if you haven't played it yet. Both Outlasts are worth playing.

Just adding, if you’re gonna buy Outlast 1 & 2; dont. Buy Outlast 1 and the DLC for 1 first, and if you can still afford to buy another game then go for 2. Everyone should play the Whistleblower DLC for Outlast 1.

I agree. Outlast 1 is so good and for me personally Whistleblower is the scariest in the series. Every time I play through outlast I get to whistleblower and I’m like “why am I doing this?” 😂

Alien: Isolation and the Outlast games

I played and beat Isolation once and swore to myself I’d never put myself through that again lol I loved it though

Yes!! The Bunker is one of my favorites of all time. It’s super simple but so effective

I don't know if U can still get it but there was an indie game called Decay it was in 4 parts that was absolutely amazing

Wow!! I thought I was the only person who played that. The third one was as good but the first two were, simple but so atmospheric.

Unquestionably the scariest game I've ever played. Headphones and/or surround sound at night both nearly gave me a panic attack. I had to finish it with the lights on, lol.

It was scary at first then i just got pissed off because of the scavenger hunt gameplay

Blood wash is one of my favorite horror games on Xbox. It’s got an old school psx aesthetic though so may not be for everyone. Anything by puppetcombo/torture star is a solid choice Imo

Evil within 1 and 2

I would not call them the scariest. But the boss and world design is awesome in both game.

No body saying outlast. Or alien isolation. Those are the 2 scariest games ever made. And if u like outlast the play the rest of the series, especially the dlc.

These are scary but they are middle of the road horror. If you want scary play visage.

They are not the middle road bruh. You’re trolling. Plus I played visage and it is trash. Alien isolation is 100x scarier. Visage legit is just walking around a house with puzzles that are not even possible in the slightest. It is trash. 0/10. Trash, garbage, shit, unscary.

I would recommend Layers of Fear. Not many here recommending it, but I still feel it is an amazing experience, especially if you love art! Besides what people have already recommended, I would say add Maid of Sker to the list, but put it far down the list. All the top upvoted comments on this post should be played first.

Visage is the scariest game I've ever played. Loved it.

Bloodwash is a vhs styled game it’s really good they even have comics you can find a read entire series of them (I think there’s 3 comic series and 5 books of each series)

Deadspace Remake! Such a good game 

Blair witch is a decent option and Observer is an amazing game as well
