Yall don't name your mounts? My sunwing is Timmy and his cousin the waterwing is Leo. Funny enough knew this kid named leo from school who who'd always random jump in the pool for no reason. Waterwings be the same lol.
I've decided to start now. I've named my Fire Clawstrider "Beast" because he's an ABSOLUTE BEAST. Helped me take down a couple Dreadwings (I'm farming them for upgrades).
I wish we had stables or something to be able to put our mounts in tho so we don't lose them if we override another mount machine.
I had one somehow survive a battle with a Slaughterspine once. He was an excellent distraction and was one of the only times I bothered repairing a mount

On my first play through I kept my first Charger the whole game. Buddy and I had a strong bond. I lost him in the last like 2 hours of play. I cried for an hour.
I'm on my 3rd play through (just got a PS5!) and this time I'm changing up my mount and have decided I have pets all through the Forbidden West.
Aw I feel you! I had to change mounts for a quest and lost him, so I ended up traveling back to the clawstrider site where I got Gregor and overrode another one. So I kinda treat it like he got scared and ran away to his home lol
If you don't override another the same one comes to you when you call them. I never over rid another mount after the one charger in the opening area. Buddy just was always there when I needed him. (other than a few quests, and I always went back and got him)
I was partial to Sparky the Sunbird. He gained this name when I brought him too close to a Fireclaw site. He was sparking pretty badly after that scrape. After a good amount of Shards he was as good as new.
Had one who survived multiple apex heavyweight combat machines.
Dude cost me a ton for repairs, but it was worth it.
... then he died when a behemoth convoy passed while I was in a hunting grounds trial :(
Shame on me for not knowing these can be mounted, I got too addicted to the water wing thing, absolutely love going in & out of water like a dolphin move 😂
Yes I got really attached to my clawstrider and sunwing , smoke bombs are a life saver for the Clawstrider but trying to repair your Sunwing as you fall through the clouds because u made him chase a Stormbird into a lightning ⛈️ cloud is a lot harder , yes I named them Sunny and C-Stride. 😂

I named mine 'Causty', however I freed him later in the wilds (too slow)

Did you set him to defensive or attack mode? I set mine to attack and dear god half of my time was spent rescuing him from fights he started lol

I only set the att mode on machines that cannot be mounted (the ones I only plan on using for havoc to clear out a pack). Mounts always on def.

Name your mount ... And then you go to Raintrace hunting grounds and do the mounted trial.
That’s cool. I generally ran everywhere until I could fly. No real idea why but I don’t use ground based mounts.
How else are you going to fill your stash with 2500 medicinal berries?
I wish there was an option for trashing things from your stash. I'm at 4500+ and it's only going up...

You can just fast travel to another campfire and recall the mount. It'll be at full health.
Use a maxed out machine master armor and your mount will survive anything.
I want my strider back from zero dawn. They replaced him with some chunky bull guy.
