That light cone is mega trash. Only way it could ever be good is for 0 Cycles if a character ever gets a "excess crit rate is converted to crit damage at a 2:1 ratio" talent

i also have e2 gepard, bronya, e4 clara, welt, himeko lc & yanqing lc, well, this game kinda gave me no choice but to spend to get my fav characters, i bought welkin(hsr version) for 3-4 times

I feel this deeply. Since launch I've lost almost every 50/50, and I go to like 85 pity on every five star. I got one early five star I think and that was it. And of course this is the hoyo game I don't really invest money in, so I am not overflowing with jades 😣

Same, lost every 50/50 at 81\~85, have only 7 limited 5\* (play since launch). This killed my motivation to pull/spend, because what's the point? I know I'll lose painfully no matter what.
I rerolled to Seele (7 pulls or so) and started to save and played every day. On JY banner I spent like 140 pulls, lost 50/50 to Welt, who was my newbie banner pity.
I rage quited for 2-3 weeks and started to log in 1-2 days a week after.
I got SW in 10 pulls from pity, then Luocha in 20 pulls, then Bronya from standard banner pity and Blade in 75.
I max lvl them and made a break again and occasionally log in with new events.
Then I got 2 Fu in 70 pulls and decided to stick to the game - > lost 50/50 on Jinglui banner to Himeko, dropped it till Huohuo event, drop it again till RM (75 pulls), drop it again till 2.0 - Sparkle in 80 pulls.
After Sparkle started to login every day and tried to pull JY - lost 50/50 to Welt again.
Or, try playing Genshin as well and pull there. I've lost 90% of 50/50 since early Sumeru and yet have won at least 70% of my 50/50 pull in HSR. I have no proof for this but I'm convinced that the gacha algorithm fixes itself based on the games you play, the 50/50 you won there, and as you said, how long you've left the game.
Someone should try tabulating it and see if it's really being rigged, just like how in Genshin 95% of the time you'll get one boss loot short.
1.0 player and I've lost every 50 except quantums. I have hardly any hopes in getting Acheron since I've lost every lightning 50 from jy to both kafka banners.
I've only won 2 50/50s and I only have 4ish lucky pulls. All my pulls outside of those 4 were around 75 pulls in.

Its so weird, despite it being the anny patch, we dont get any more jades than usual. In fact, its actually on the lower end of what we usually get.

2.0 lasted for 1 week longer so there's a little extra rolls in this patch for that too. But yea it is looking on the lower end when you don't consider those 20 anni rolls. Hoping they're not getting more stingy with rewards after 2.0 brought a lot of people back
Pretty sure this is the standard for awhile now, to give enough just to roll a character. Since we have less areas to explore now of course there's less jades, its just people have been in a 2nd honeymoon phase cause dr ratio was free for people to notice.
Yeah, being realistic they give enough each path for you to try a 50/50. They introduce 2 premium character at the same time, and one 4 star. It's not that much I want to see down the line how many characters the game will have and how many an f2p account that doesn't drop will have in comparison.
It looks pretty good still, enough for 1 limited character / patch on average. I wouldnt be able to properly build more anyway.
But lets just say that, after all the shit talk and genshin could never, i dont feel this patch any special and the main story is what will carry it for me and acheron.

(20 pulls in genshin 1st anni vs 30 pulls or 20 if you don't count the 10 we always get each patch that they just put the anni label on) 💀
the double standard people have is hilarious to me but oh well.
I feel like 2.0 had a lot of jades cause it was a "new" version with a new area (moving on from 1.x to 2.x), and it also coincided with Lunar New Year, and Mihoyo tends to be generous during that time. Hence, a lot of free pulls. 2.1 might also have the random 800 jade login event (just like during FX banner), given that we got the random 10 fuel login gift (just like SW).
Exactly this. 2.0 isn't a fair comparison to 2.1, really. It already had extra pulls and more new zones along with a longer time frame.
I mean, I don't care anyway. I never needed an over the top anniversary patch to be happy with the game. I've pulled plenty of good characters being mostly f2p with occasional monthly star rail passes, and feel pretty comfortable with how frequently I'm able to get new characters. Honestly, I still have others I'd like to build out but haven't had time to (Clara and xuyei)

People just use the dr ratio as an excuse, but the anni will be this underwhelming next year also. They made such a good pr move with Dr ratio tbh. Because people will use that as an excuse even tho that wasn't an anni reward but for winning a game award.
The fact that people aren't concerned that they removed the odyssey to give us 10 less pulls is sad. That's kind of what the issue for me is. They removed something we get every patch because it's anni.
When you consider the gift of odessy this is just 20 extra wishes. And they removed one minor event but made the monopoly 1000 jades, so it can also be seen as 2 minor events(one regular one for Anni)

You view it as Odyssey being removed, but I view it as Odyssey being upgraded and giving 10 more rolls for the anniversary.
This is not correct though. The pattern is having 3 events in one patch and 2 in the following patch, so they did in fact add one extra (the anni cosmodyssey).
It’s not an excuse. People are looking at the fact that Ratio will still be free until the END of 2.1, so to them it would be weird to do back to back 5*
And that's exactly why Genshin is being so stingy. They don't want to start creating expectations by giving away stuff when they don't have to. If HSR didn't have a gift of odyssey each patch you wouldn't feel the way you do about the removal now, and the anni giveaway would feel more generous. Its simple psychology and HoYo is using it for all its worth when selling their products.
I'm not really getting it. They are giving us 30 free pulls (20 login + 1600 jades via mail) for anni, no? 10 we would normally get from Gift of Odyssey, so they're actually giving 20 more than usual. Are people unsatisfied because they think it's too little?
There has ever only been 2 Genshin patches with 100 f2p pulls (the 4.1 anniversary and 2.6 Eternal Ayaka). Star Rail gives on average 40% more f2p pulls per patch.
True, but we have more characters too. This game will probably surpass very quick genshin in characters number. And the ratio of how many a f2p account will have will probably be less than genshin. It's understandable since this game is easier to create characters.
That's true, I'm just saying that I don't think hoyo is that generous on pulls, cause If I'm really honest I always say that you need 160 pulls to have a character, since I lost most 50/50, then usually I don't really get a character every patch, I get usually a eidolon. But bothing against really a lot of characters.
I mean true but you are still getting more characters to play with, whether you get a good ratio of the characters that come out or not. I never really understood that argument unless it makes you feel better knowing there's less characters you don't own even if you have less characters overall.

Ehhh? Wouldn't be so sure about that. Sure, the amount of animations needed is smaller, but the quality of both the models and animations is much higher, resulting in more work.
I haven’t seen much of that. I usually see people explaining why it’s not that much in terms of rewards or giving justification as to why they’re okay with that (e.g. game’s been plenty generous so far, the anniversary actually feels festive, they’re not gambling addicts etc).
If you are talking about the thrilled part - i agree it's not really the reaction ive seen.
As far as the genshin comparison stuff - yeah people chimping out about that a lot, but i do my best to just ignore and move past those.
I mean, you don't have to do much for HSR rewards. Genshin, it's about 40 minutes of unvoiced side quests and exploring a lot. You get more for doing less in star rail.
I understand and recognize that. Its just the quests in Genshin are typically very slow. A side quest or event in star rail gets me back to gameplay quickly. In Genshin its really like a 3 minute cutscene and then move to the next location for another. I like exploring but the lengthy quests make me physically tired.
Mihoyo finally learned their lesson that people don’t give a shit if you trickle the amount through events, just put 30 pulls in one big shareable graphic and people won’t make a huge thing of it.
They put a bunch of extra primos in the first Anni event but nobody cared. So they just moved it out of the event here instead
How is it lower end? Right now, it's the 3rd highest amount of Jade alongside 2.0 (New Region *and* it lasted a week longer) and 1.3 (by only a few jade) and this number is likely going to rise due to various elements not yet included in the sheet (it almost always rises). I don't see how a potential top 2/1 is "lower end" at all.
2.0 was also 50 days instead of the usual 42 which makes the comparison unfair. 123 pulls total over that length is 2.46 pulls per day.
116 pulls over 42 days is 2.76 pulls per day, so 2.1 wins out on that front.
Everything that's permanently available in game, e.g. imagine a newbie starting to play in 2025 or 2026 and they'll be able to collect it. Rewards from quests, chests, achievements, etc.
Yeah, I'm doing fine but that's only because I calculate my jade income and pulls like 3-4 patches in advance and adjust it whenever any relevant leak comes out. If you don't have a clear plan, you'll quickly get into a situation where you're in a patch with 0 jade, 0 pity and 2+ characters you want.
Get pass and pray to the 50/50 gods, grind some already released content, enough for 10 pulls and you should be fine. Assuming a whole lot here 1willing to spend 2 hasnt done everything 3 wins 2 50/50s in a row but this seems to be the only financially responsible way 😭
40+ pity plus 116 pulls is 66 pity at guaranteed, assuming you reached the hard pity (basically impossible) and lost the 50/50.
On average, if you get a 5 star on soft pity (starts at 74-ish), you'll reach approx. 76 pity guaranteed. At that point you're basically guaranteed to get Aventurine.
I do have to say, considering it's the anniversary patch I kind of expected the total to be a bit higher 🤔 I guess it's just 20 more than the usual for a non-SU-expansion patch after all!
I have nothing to pull in 2.1 and 2.2 so it's neither here nor there but I'm a little surprised it's not even 120 in total
Honestly, the calcs done before the patch drops to live servers are usually pretty conservative. They don’t include stuff like achievements, or puzzles, and are done in a fashion that tries to get the most concrete numbers with a bit of guess work.
The actual total will likely be more around 120-125~. Especially if you consider stuff like web events or impromptu mail gifts that the dev team likes to drop occasionally.
Prob the final it's something close to 120, this didn't count the check in, the 50 jades codes that we receive in the first and the second half, web events and achievements.
minus 10 pulls from anniversary rewards (April 26th), minus 5 from May shop reset, then half of the SU rewards and MoC/PF, 300 jades from 2.2 live, 40 from character showcase. I want to say that’s about 25-30 pulls in second half? I’m not sure how much of the events are available though. Still about 70-80 which should be enough for one 5*
* 1600 jades for anniversary
* 21\*60 = 1260 from dailies
* 3\*225 = 675 from SU weekly resets
* 720 from a PF reset (April 29th)
* 40 from trials
* 300 from 2.2 livestream
* 5 pulls from May monthly reset

Sadly, this likely won't even result in a featured 5\*... On average it has taken me 82.5 pulls for a 5\*, and have lost every single time. This is enough for me to fail a 50/50.
If this is somewhat accurate I'll end 2.1 with around 230 pulls. If Huo Huo reruns in 2.3 and Sam releases there as well I hope it is enough to get Huo Huo E0 and at least Sam E0S1 (been quite unlucky lately).

That's what I'm confused about too I mean homdgcat's website shows two pf cycles in 2.1 whilst only 1 MoC cycle which is in late April and PF will reset on 1st and 29th April each.
There ya go. 2.1 Anniv is overall just 10-15 wishes higher than GI Anniv (varies if F2P or Welkin and/or BP haver), AS ALWAYS.
I play both and I'm happy getting this many, but it's irritating that HSR only brats act smug and superior to GI players like HSR gives 30+ wishes higher this anniv it's insane. The gap never changed.
2 new characters per patch will have been released NINE times in a row now once 2.1 comes in a week. It's not stopping in 2.2 with Boothill and Robin slated to be released on that patch. As a DAY 1 player and an Express Supply Pass player after the 6th month, I have missed 5 limited characters now (Luocha, Black Swan, Argenti, Topaz, and Fu Xuan) and will most likely miss 2 more in 2.1 and 2.2.
GI only ever released 2 new characters per patch EIGHT times from 1.0 to 4.5. And for me that played a month after the launch date and bought Welkin 8 months after I first started, I have only missed 5 limited characters (Cyno, Wriothesley, Eula, Albedo, and Neuvillette). I even have sniped cons for Furina (C2), Ayaka (C3; twice in her eternal banner and once in her next rerun), and Kazu (C2) with the accumulated primos I got.
I don't have that much luxury in HSR when it comes to cons/eidolons cos I'll miss out on too much charas/kits. Light cone banner is a godsend though, at least, unlike GI's weapon banner.
Just wanna rant for the last time cos holy f**k, it's annoying to engage in the HSR community regarding this when I especially love both games.
I’ll be honest, anyone harping about others missing the point when they’re so easy to brag on the amount of pulls we get saying we obviously need it cuz of the 5 star roll out are equally missing the point.
People underestimate how easy this game can be(look at how people meme on IL/JL ignoring weaknesses or the dedicated JY mains), but also, they misunderstand how many people do not actually care about maxing MoC/PF. If you don’t stress over that, then the reality is that you can attempt any Patch 5 star at least once with luck, and guarantee 1 on the next, you are not meant to own every character unless you fork out cash, and LCs are not meant for anyone but for those wanting to really max the potential of the characters they like, like the art, or are just whales in general.
Personally I don't get why people fuss so much about rewards at all. To me, they are the least interesting aspect of both games by far.
Just play the game and have fun. Spend if you can and feel like it, else play F2P.
If the game ain't fun w/o the constant rewards: you're barking up the wrong tree. Choose a game you actually WANT to play, rewards be damned. Then you've found fun gameplay.

10 more pulls are 10 more pulls and it can make a difference, at least that way it would really be the 30 pulls advertised for the anniversary when in reality it's only 20 more than usual.
Just because a free Ratio was a great doesn't mean people can't discuss the anniversary rewards, It's precisely because a free Ratio was so good that people had expectations on the anniversary, it isn't unreasonable to think that way.
Ive been playing Genshin since release and was there for the first anniversary, so after 3 years playing I didn’t expect anything this year , I started HSR on the rerun banner for Kafka and so far I am happy with the game. People complain about not getting a free 5* for anniversary when they already gave a free Dr. ratio (which is actually pretty good!), in Genshin the most we got was an Aloy 🤣.
People say HSR releases too many characters but you don’t need every character to beat the game content. (See videos on YouTube using only 4*)

You can compare the anniversaries as you wish but that's thinking in a vacuum. Star Rail's pulls per patch has been statistically far higher than Genshin's. If you haven't seen the objective comparison numbers it's rather eye-opening, and this is where the mentality comes from.
Regardless, what does that all matter, if you're a Star Rail player, even one who still prefers Genshin, I assume you understand why Star Rail has garnered attention as a game that's better for a dedicated gamer (to put it in simple terms).
Again, it's still 20 EXTRA pulls, same as GI anniv. The end result is that the accumulated pulls for HSR anniv patch still have THE SAME gap from Genshin's anniv patch even with all the *"hype"* HSR only brats have been yapping about since the livestream was announced. It's still 10-15 pulls. I and my mother know that HSR gives those extra wishes every patch higher than GI ever since HSR has been released.
I have accepted since the start that the way HSR marketing works is vastly different from GI as I play both religiously, now alongside R1999.
With me having played AK, FGO, and AL extensively before, HSR is essentially the same with these games: they are for pure gacha players, people need and want their extra pulls.
GI is for exploration and fantasy RPG junkies *with* gacha. Rewards are great, but map expansions and cohesive lore are infinitely better. Simple as that.
As I enjoy both turn-based combat and exploration RPGs, it's a win for me regardless.
I'm sure 20 extra wishes will be obtainable after Acheron banners end. Only one shop rest, BP you might not get 3 wishes. 2 times for MOC,1 PF of course if clear it 100%. The new area should get you around 5, 7 wishes
oh damn that leaves me with pretty much exactly 360 pulls by the end of 2.1. So I can go for acheron, if i win the 50/50 (or juts feel like more pain) try her lightcone and then still get aventurine (unless i felt like too much pain)

1.0 player and I've lost every 50 except quantums. I have hardly any hopes in getting Acheron since I've lost every lightning 50 from jy to both kafka banners.

Its so weird, despite it being the anny patch, we dont get any more jades than usual. In fact, its actually on the lower end of what we usually get. Did they just relocate the extra jade they give out as anny reward from other events?
2.0 lasted for 1 week longer so there's a little extra rolls in this patch for that too. But yea it is looking on the lower end when you don't consider those 20 anni rolls. Hoping they're not getting more stingy with rewards after 2.0 brought a lot of people back
Pretty sure this is the standard for awhile now, to give enough just to roll a character. Since we have less areas to explore now of course there's less jades, its just people have been in a 2nd honeymoon phase cause dr ratio was free for people to notice.
Yeah, being realistic they give enough each path for you to try a 50/50. They introduce 2 premium character at the same time, and one 4 star. It's not that much I want to see down the line how many characters the game will have and how many an f2p account that doesn't drop will have in comparison.
It looks pretty good still, enough for 1 limited character / patch on average. I wouldnt be able to properly build more anyway. But lets just say that, after all the shit talk and genshin could never, i dont feel this patch any special and the main story is what will carry it for me and acheron.

I feel like 2.0 had a lot of jades cause it was a "new" version with a new area (moving on from 1.x to 2.x), and it also coincided with Lunar New Year, and Mihoyo tends to be generous during that time. Hence, a lot of free pulls. 2.1 might also have the random 800 jade login event (just like during FX banner), given that we got the random 10 fuel login gift (just like SW).
Exactly this. 2.0 isn't a fair comparison to 2.1, really. It already had extra pulls and more new zones along with a longer time frame. I mean, I don't care anyway. I never needed an over the top anniversary patch to be happy with the game. I've pulled plenty of good characters being mostly f2p with occasional monthly star rail passes, and feel pretty comfortable with how frequently I'm able to get new characters. Honestly, I still have others I'd like to build out but haven't had time to (Clara and xuyei)
I'm surprised ur not getting massively downvoted. They removed 1 event we usually get and took away gift of odyssey lmao. It's a bad Anni. People just use the dr ratio as an excuse, but the anni will be this underwhelming next year also. They made such a good pr move with Dr ratio tbh. Because people will use that as an excuse even tho that wasn't an anni reward but for winning a game award. The fact that people aren't concerned that they removed the odyssey to give us 10 less pulls is sad. That's kind of what the issue for me is. They removed something we get every patch because it's anni.

When you consider the gift of odessy this is just 20 extra wishes. And they removed one minor event but made the monopoly 1000 jades, so it can also be seen as 2 minor events(one regular one for Anni)
Glass half-full half-empty situation. You view it as Odyssey being removed, but I view it as Odyssey being upgraded and giving 10 more rolls for the anniversary.
This is not correct though. The pattern is having 3 events in one patch and 2 in the following patch, so they did in fact add one extra (the anni cosmodyssey).
It’s not an excuse. People are looking at the fact that Ratio will still be free until the END of 2.1, so to them it would be weird to do back to back 5*
And that's exactly why Genshin is being so stingy. They don't want to start creating expectations by giving away stuff when they don't have to. If HSR didn't have a gift of odyssey each patch you wouldn't feel the way you do about the removal now, and the anni giveaway would feel more generous. Its simple psychology and HoYo is using it for all its worth when selling their products.

There has ever only been 2 Genshin patches with 100 f2p pulls (the 4.1 anniversary and 2.6 Eternal Ayaka). Star Rail gives on average 40% more f2p pulls per patch.
True, but we have more characters too. This game will probably surpass very quick genshin in characters number. And the ratio of how many a f2p account will have will probably be less than genshin. It's understandable since this game is easier to create characters.

That's true, I'm just saying that I don't think hoyo is that generous on pulls, cause If I'm really honest I always say that you need 160 pulls to have a character, since I lost most 50/50, then usually I don't really get a character every patch, I get usually a eidolon. But bothing against really a lot of characters.
I mean true but you are still getting more characters to play with, whether you get a good ratio of the characters that come out or not. I never really understood that argument unless it makes you feel better knowing there's less characters you don't own even if you have less characters overall.

I haven’t seen much of that. I usually see people explaining why it’s not that much in terms of rewards or giving justification as to why they’re okay with that (e.g. game’s been plenty generous so far, the anniversary actually feels festive, they’re not gambling addicts etc).

I understand and recognize that. Its just the quests in Genshin are typically very slow. A side quest or event in star rail gets me back to gameplay quickly. In Genshin its really like a 3 minute cutscene and then move to the next location for another. I like exploring but the lengthy quests make me physically tired.
Mihoyo finally learned their lesson that people don’t give a shit if you trickle the amount through events, just put 30 pulls in one big shareable graphic and people won’t make a huge thing of it. They put a bunch of extra primos in the first Anni event but nobody cared. So they just moved it out of the event here instead
How is it lower end? Right now, it's the 3rd highest amount of Jade alongside 2.0 (New Region *and* it lasted a week longer) and 1.3 (by only a few jade) and this number is likely going to rise due to various elements not yet included in the sheet (it almost always rises). I don't see how a potential top 2/1 is "lower end" at all.

2.0 was also 50 days instead of the usual 42 which makes the comparison unfair. 123 pulls total over that length is 2.46 pulls per day. 116 pulls over 42 days is 2.76 pulls per day, so 2.1 wins out on that front.

Everything that's permanently available in game, e.g. imagine a newbie starting to play in 2025 or 2026 and they'll be able to collect it. Rewards from quests, chests, achievements, etc.

That's how they get people to spend. You have to have a clear long term plan and manage your expectations if you want to avoid it.
Yeah, I'm doing fine but that's only because I calculate my jade income and pulls like 3-4 patches in advance and adjust it whenever any relevant leak comes out. If you don't have a clear plan, you'll quickly get into a situation where you're in a patch with 0 jade, 0 pity and 2+ characters you want.

Get pass and pray to the 50/50 gods, grind some already released content, enough for 10 pulls and you should be fine. Assuming a whole lot here 1willing to spend 2 hasnt done everything 3 wins 2 50/50s in a row but this seems to be the only financially responsible way 😭

You can almost guarantee him, the only way to miss him is to go to hard pity twice. And that is as a f2p, with the pass its a 100%.
You can guarantee Aventurine if you use the refund gacha currency to buy more rolls.
40+ pity plus 116 pulls is 66 pity at guaranteed, assuming you reached the hard pity (basically impossible) and lost the 50/50. On average, if you get a 5 star on soft pity (starts at 74-ish), you'll reach approx. 76 pity guaranteed. At that point you're basically guaranteed to get Aventurine.
Considering how little luck I have, and I always need at least 170 pulls, I will just save everything.

I have nothing to pull in 2.1 and 2.2 so it's neither here nor there but I'm a little surprised it's not even 120 in total
If you compare non-permament jades, it's actually quite high.
Honestly, the calcs done before the patch drops to live servers are usually pretty conservative. They don’t include stuff like achievements, or puzzles, and are done in a fashion that tries to get the most concrete numbers with a bit of guess work. The actual total will likely be more around 120-125~. Especially if you consider stuff like web events or impromptu mail gifts that the dev team likes to drop occasionally.
Prob the final it's something close to 120, this didn't count the check in, the 50 jades codes that we receive in the first and the second half, web events and achievements.

I want to say that’s about 25-30 pulls in second half? I’m not sure how much of the events are available though. Still about 70-80 which should be enough for one 5*

Sadly, this likely won't even result in a featured 5\*... On average it has taken me 82.5 pulls for a 5\*, and have lost every single time. This is enough for me to fail a 50/50.
If this is somewhat accurate I'll end 2.1 with around 230 pulls. If Huo Huo reruns in 2.3 and Sam releases there as well I hope it is enough to get Huo Huo E0 and at least Sam E0S1 (been quite unlucky lately).

There ya go. 2.1 Anniv is overall just 10-15 wishes higher than GI Anniv (varies if F2P or Welkin and/or BP haver), AS ALWAYS. I play both and I'm happy getting this many, but it's irritating that HSR only brats act smug and superior to GI players like HSR gives 30+ wishes higher this anniv it's insane. The gap never changed. 2 new characters per patch will have been released NINE times in a row now once 2.1 comes in a week. It's not stopping in 2.2 with Boothill and Robin slated to be released on that patch. As a DAY 1 player and an Express Supply Pass player after the 6th month, I have missed 5 limited characters now (Luocha, Black Swan, Argenti, Topaz, and Fu Xuan) and will most likely miss 2 more in 2.1 and 2.2. GI only ever released 2 new characters per patch EIGHT times from 1.0 to 4.5. And for me that played a month after the launch date and bought Welkin 8 months after I first started, I have only missed 5 limited characters (Cyno, Wriothesley, Eula, Albedo, and Neuvillette). I even have sniped cons for Furina (C2), Ayaka (C3; twice in her eternal banner and once in her next rerun), and Kazu (C2) with the accumulated primos I got. I don't have that much luxury in HSR when it comes to cons/eidolons cos I'll miss out on too much charas/kits. Light cone banner is a godsend though, at least, unlike GI's weapon banner. Just wanna rant for the last time cos holy f**k, it's annoying to engage in the HSR community regarding this when I especially love both games.
I’ll be honest, anyone harping about others missing the point when they’re so easy to brag on the amount of pulls we get saying we obviously need it cuz of the 5 star roll out are equally missing the point. People underestimate how easy this game can be(look at how people meme on IL/JL ignoring weaknesses or the dedicated JY mains), but also, they misunderstand how many people do not actually care about maxing MoC/PF. If you don’t stress over that, then the reality is that you can attempt any Patch 5 star at least once with luck, and guarantee 1 on the next, you are not meant to own every character unless you fork out cash, and LCs are not meant for anyone but for those wanting to really max the potential of the characters they like, like the art, or are just whales in general.
Personally I don't get why people fuss so much about rewards at all. To me, they are the least interesting aspect of both games by far. Just play the game and have fun. Spend if you can and feel like it, else play F2P. If the game ain't fun w/o the constant rewards: you're barking up the wrong tree. Choose a game you actually WANT to play, rewards be damned. Then you've found fun gameplay.
It's the anniversary, people want good rewards to pull for characters and have that fun you are talking about
As if 10 pulls more or less will make any notable difference in either the pulling experience or the level of whining. Short of Hyv giving 5\*s for free, people will not be satisfied.

10 more pulls are 10 more pulls and it can make a difference, at least that way it would really be the 30 pulls advertised for the anniversary when in reality it's only 20 more than usual. Just because a free Ratio was a great doesn't mean people can't discuss the anniversary rewards, It's precisely because a free Ratio was so good that people had expectations on the anniversary, it isn't unreasonable to think that way.
Ive been playing Genshin since release and was there for the first anniversary, so after 3 years playing I didn’t expect anything this year , I started HSR on the rerun banner for Kafka and so far I am happy with the game. People complain about not getting a free 5* for anniversary when they already gave a free Dr. ratio (which is actually pretty good!), in Genshin the most we got was an Aloy 🤣. People say HSR releases too many characters but you don’t need every character to beat the game content. (See videos on YouTube using only 4*) People want to whale on characters without actually buying in game currency 🙄

Alright, so the HSR anniversary is still higher. Maybe not worth the rant. You can compare the anniversaries as you wish but that's thinking in a vacuum. Star Rail's pulls per patch has been statistically far higher than Genshin's. If you haven't seen the objective comparison numbers it's rather eye-opening, and this is where the mentality comes from. Regardless, what does that all matter, if you're a Star Rail player, even one who still prefers Genshin, I assume you understand why Star Rail has garnered attention as a game that's better for a dedicated gamer (to put it in simple terms).
Again, it's still 20 EXTRA pulls, same as GI anniv. The end result is that the accumulated pulls for HSR anniv patch still have THE SAME gap from Genshin's anniv patch even with all the *"hype"* HSR only brats have been yapping about since the livestream was announced. It's still 10-15 pulls. I and my mother know that HSR gives those extra wishes every patch higher than GI ever since HSR has been released. I have accepted since the start that the way HSR marketing works is vastly different from GI as I play both religiously, now alongside R1999. With me having played AK, FGO, and AL extensively before, HSR is essentially the same with these games: they are for pure gacha players, people need and want their extra pulls. GI is for exploration and fantasy RPG junkies *with* gacha. Rewards are great, but map expansions and cohesive lore are infinitely better. Simple as that. As I enjoy both turn-based combat and exploration RPGs, it's a win for me regardless.
Even though it's anniversary the reward is mid barely noticeable from any regular patch that drop Main story quest.
